NotFrenchYet: Would it work if there were certain people who were predefined as being cult-recruitable? So the Leader could only recruit certain players?
It would be more tense if the unrecruitables were dangerous to the cult... either killing the recruiter or perhaps just getting the name of the one who tried to recruit them?
How about having every player neutral/survivor/bulletproof/vigilante?
Not massively different from vanilla, but watch them trying to figure out the lack of NKs.....
How about the following, new cult recruits will automatically die after 2 days, thus keeping the cult with a maximum of 3 members. Town will still have to lynch properly, preferably by finding the cult leader. Make it so only the cult leader can recruit, and I think this would be balanced?

Joe and I once joked about a game full of jesters. Everyone would win, apart from the two left at the end of the game.

would that have any alignment at all? Otherwise what happens if the final two are mafia and town? no wait, 1 town 1 mafia means the mafia controls the lynch and would vote for themselves... so mafia-jester wins but the mafia loses and town wins apart from the last one alive?

Twisted!

I think the original idea was that they were all town jesters, your idea is even harder to untangle.
So, just to know, for a totally non-immediate future.

If I was to get excited about a couple of ideas for game flavors, and maybe a couple basic concepts, is there a place where I could check a list pre-balanced setups (as in : balanced power roles), to see if one fits with the general ideas ?

There might be some setups in here that you can study: http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Setup

What you mean emboldening? Trying to get something bold and not working?

He screwed up the formatting on his post & didn't close the bolding tags.
This often results in the whole of the rest of the page being bold......
I have a copy of his post so perhaps NFY would allow a post edit to correct this.
I can compare to my copy of the post to make sure nothing else changes.....

Ah, I was under the impression that a non-ending bold tag only messed the post, not the rest of the page. I know I've made a few such mistakes myself, but never had any troubles afterward. Let me see if I can find an example.

Edit: Found the post/example I meant, it's this one
Next post doesn't close tags, and isn't bold, though it does start with a quote tag.

I think it's only certain browers it breaks - Chrome handles it okay, but I think IE goes "Nope!" and turns the entire page bold.

Good call Rod. I'll allow an edit to fix it but I'll check it against my own copy. :3

IE9 also handles it fine.
Do I need to edit it? I'm not seeing any problem, is anyone else?
