zeogold: Honestly, I've always wondered if there could be an advantage to playing Mafia on a different, non-GOG forum. I feel like it would allow for a few interesting powers/abilities/forms of gameplay.
I call dibs on invisibility.

Wait, nevermind, I talk too much for that to be effective.

I might've mentioned it before (I know I did to you, but I dunno if I did on this thread or not), but a disguising role would be interesting. Like, the ability to impersonate another player. Considering how well you guys know each other and your playstyles, that would be an interesting one to watch.

The Mimic:

1x kill and you take on the role of the player you kill (so obviously no flip)

which could even be a hidden mechanic that no one knows about and suddenly someone is just dead and no one knows what happened except the mimic and scum-buddies if they take on a mafia role

the thief:

select 1 player and take their role, they become town vanilla

I don't mean the role. I mean you literally BECOME the person. In other words, if I kill you, I'm going to have to be the one saying "zippityzippityzipzipzipzipzipzippityzipbopboo ZIP!" in order to convince people that I'm you. It'll look like zeogold died and drealmer7 is posting, but really it's zeogold PRETENDING to be drealmer7. If I disguise myself as a role who was, let's say, confirmed as town by a cop, chances are that I won't get voted up. And if I do, I could try disguising as somebody else.

trentonlf: I wish we could, but it's suppose to be one per forum from what I understood.

Although it does look like some forums get two people if they are big enough, not sure what constitutes that.
I gather it depends on the smaller forums not sending a person at all, then the larger forums will get an extra slot in some fashion.

You mean we don't get crazy, oddball setups here? ;)

That could have interesting consequences, though I'm not sure how the logistics of it would work. I like you and all, but I'm not giving you the password to my account.

That might put us back at the idea of creating "Mafia" accounts or something, though.

I didn't really mean that so much as some sort of system that lets you change your username at permission of the moderator.

Well, if it's necessary we can build our own closed community messageboard where we can play around with all kinds of irregular options and stuff.

I will go to IKEA and get the board ready

There's what I was thinking. It's different when you're playing strangers vs. when you're playing people you know.
I mean, technically you're all strangers, but you've played with each other before and know each others' playstyles.

Time to do the thing.

Just got caught up regarding the tournament. I'll try to follow it, the lack of any meta reads should keep things quite interesting and fresh.

FWIW, I'm behind both trentonlf and yogsloth.

Do you want your hat to be in the ring too, or nah?

Do you really have to ask?

A stupid question is only stupid until it's asked.
...of course, this probably doesn't change the stupidity of the person asking it, but it's not like that's some sort of secret, so I'll ask away anyhow.
