Game 6 fell apart less because people got mad at the mod, and more because the mod couldn't mod anymore. I hope Ghost is doing alright, haven't seen her around. But it was fun.

In light of recent events, I think we should agree on a policy re: post editing. At this point, I think we can afford to be hard. If a newbie does it, once, I'd be willing to let it slide. In any other case, a merciless modkill (unless it messes up the very integrity of the game).

BUT I would insist on separating an actual edit from a doublepost. At the end of #9, emotions were running high and the discussion was happening pretty much in real time, so it's no wonder people doubleposted. I think that in such situations, it would be insane to punish players for the fact that GOG's forum software is crap. You can spot a doublepost pretty easily usually, and the "post edited xx time ago" is an adequate safeguard to make sure the post wasn't tampered with.

Have we ever come across a post that has genuinely been edited?
The few times the "edited" notice came up in game 8 they were most likely double-posts

Alternatively, maybe specifiy that if you want to post twice in succession, players should begin the second post with a tag like *Pleasedontmerge!* at the top. Although that doesn't account for accidents...

Good idea, but by now the 10-minute rule is pretty much confirmed and reliable. It wouldn't prevent either your or jefe's doublepost in the showdown.

We should ask GOG for a topic type that doesn't allow post edits or doesn't merge double posts. That way we'd either know that all edits are in fact double posts (because you can't edit) or we'd know that all edits really are edits (because double posting works).

Because one of our number is now a member of staff, perhaps she could lobby the web programmer(s)...

Well, my opinion of GOG's coder crew isn't exactly stellar, so I definitely wouldn't count on that.
I think it was Vítek, eventually, though I do remember the lack of coordination made it a pretty hilarious affair. But I also tested it myself in #9 a few times and once you see "10 minutes ago" on the post, it's safe.

(An aside: did you English speakers know Vítek, note the diacritics, is pronounced VEE-tek? Because I have a feeling people might tend to read it as VAI-tek, which sounds quite funny to my ears.)
