Maybe I'm just dense and don't understand what you are trying to convey because if you're not the CL and get recruited then hopefully you are lynched which is what I would want to happen to anyone that is recruited by the CL. So I still don't understand your comment from before about making life interesting for the cult of you are recruited.

As opposed to pretending I am the CL.
Well, pretend you are the CL, and then imagine that neither of us are lynched. Contemplate how Day 2 might go if you recruit me.

Bookwyrm627: Pretend for a moment that I'm not the CL. Now think about what might happen if the CL recruited me. How is that going to play out?

The Greater Good
Not really. You just give the more useful answers. Flubb is often so hard to understand. ;-)
And again, that requires more explanation.
Following Bookwyrm's strange statement I had two players in focus: Bookwyrm, of course (I hate soft-claims, and that seems to be one) and trent for his very quick vote as a reaction. However, trent reacting in this way is consistent with previous games. But I don't understand Bookwyrm's play if he is town.
Case 1: he is town and has some one-shot/two-shot PR, that 'makes life interesting' for the CL if he tries to recruit him. Now he wastes that power by warning the CL of it's existence.
Case 2: he is town and tries some stupid ploy, counting on everyone understanding what he does and what he wants other PRs to do. And 'forgets' again that the CL reads everything as well and has the same chance of understanding whatever ploy that is than all the others.
Case 3: he is CL and wants to buy time, by making a case for not lynching him until the third day. That would give him two nights in which he can freely act, collecting players who won't lynch him on Day 3.
So, Bookwyrm's play makes the most sense under the assumption that he is CL. Combined with an unexplained vote, I think he has the biggest chance of being the CL.
Therefore
vote Bookwyrm

Bookwyrm627: Mostly that there is only one recruitment attempt between Day 1 and Day 2, and choosing lil' ol' me for that first attempt would make life interesting for the cult for a couple of reasons.
And you are warning him publicly of that fact ... why? And again, that requires more explanation.

Sage103082: I feel that the CL would need to be the most town play possible day one. I would think the best way to hide is to hide in plain sight.
I agree with the notion of the CL hiding in plain sight, but I can't understand what you're saying here in the context of my question about the likeliness of Wyrm risking to expose himself by role fishing - is it or is it not likely? Lifthrasil: Case 1: he is town and has some one-shot/two-shot PR, that 'makes life interesting' for the CL if he tries to recruit him. Now he wastes that power by warning the CL of it's existence.
To quote HSL: "Isn't this a Cult C9 semi-open setup?" I think I understand what he is going for but that isn't AI automatically.

-As Dedo pointed out, there are no X-shot powers in play. The CL is already aware of which powers might be available. Or should be, at any rate.
-Any direction that another PR might take from me is purely and completely coincidental. Absolutely. Yep. No doubt about it.
-The best ploys would force the CL into a specific course of action whereby they can be caught, regardless of whether the CL knows what is coming or not.
-How is drawing attention to myself a good idea if I'm the CL?
Out of curiosity, Lift: How was your CL hunting going up until post 79?
At the time because the CL doesn't have a post restriction. Looks like they've elected to act under the restriction for now, though.

Unless he counts on WIFOM. He could try to use the argument: "If I were CL, I would NEVER draw attention to myself in this way. Therefore I CAN'T be the CL." ... and lookie there, there it is this very argument. Quite forseeable.
Counter question: how does this play make sense if Bookwyrm is town? Why would he throw his vote around, unexplained, and draw attention to himself?
@Boowyrm: barring some PR, why would it be more dangerous for the CL to recruit you over anyone else?
Bookwyrm627: At the time because the CL doesn't have a post restriction. Looks like they've elected to act under the restriction for now, though.
What? How do you know that the CL doesn't have a post restriction? And do you meant to imply that you have one? And what do you mean with the second part? Who are 'THEY'? You are aware, that according to the setup we have only one scum today? So there is no 'they' yet, unless 'they' refers, from your point of view, to town. Referring to your other question: the CL hunting was going slow initially. On Day 1 in a game with only one scum we're basically shooting in the dark until someone does something stupid and others react to that. So yes, maybe you are a heroic townie who decided to draw attention to himself by intentionally doing something stupid so that we have something to discuss. In that case, as I already mentioned (in case you missed it), trent would look slightly suspicious for the speed with which he reacted with a vote. But on the other hand you are known for your strange plays. So as a CL your best bet might be to hide behind a stunt like this using the argument 'I totally wouldn't do this if I were CL' ...
So, why should we believe you, when you say that you wouldn't play this exact way if you were CL?

I have several reasons for what I'm doing ("Why do things for one reason, when you can throw in a few more for free?"). I assert that I am playing for town (at least today), but I acknowledge that from the POV of every one of you except the CL, that statement is worth the paper it is printed on.

I didn't say that, nor did I mean that. Also, I don't think I'm going to answer that question right now. After all, "the CL reads everything as well".
Bookwyrm627: At the time because the CL doesn't have a post restriction. Looks like they've elected to act under the restriction for now, though.

If I were to hazard a guess I'd say an alarmist with some sort of self-protect? Can't see it working any other way though. Lifthrasil: What? The they bit seems like a way to refer to possible CL without saying he or she, could be mistaken though. And OP says this Each NWA member can once per voting phase do a roll call. Posting the Greater Good means the rest of the NWA members should begin their next post with the phrase "The Greater Good". Be aware that non NWA members may also post it or attempt to start a roll call, so be careful not to fall in the imposters' trap.
which does seem to suggest posting restriction is town specific, did I miss something? Moreover I am curious as to nature of punishment if someone doesn't abide by that restriction, what would happen if someone does not start their post with "The Greater Good" despite being member of NWA? Would it be possible for us to verify someone using this?

Also, an actual faction specific, mod-enforced posting restriction would be very game-breaking. I doubt JMich would incorporate something like that in his game. We can test it, if you like. We can each start a roll-call and all others don't respond to it. Those who get bad consequences from that, are town. And the single person who doesn't suffer any consequence from not answering correctly is the CL. ... That's what I mean by game-breaking. It would end the game in one roll-call (or two, at most, if the first one is started by the CL).
