Lifthrasil: Why 'would have been'? I did reply, didn't I? Or was my answer somehow unclear? Or did I misunderstand your question?
Sorry, I realized my phrasing may be a bit confusing to read only after I posted. I was talking from the point of view of "past me" and what I was looking for back when you still hadn't responded.

I see.

So, how do we proceed? So far we have (IMO) several people behaving in their usual way. One person who is intentionally irritating (Yogs), which also is his usual way but irritating nonetheless. And we have a no-show.

For now I'll keep my vote on yogs until he starts writing something at least remotely useful in English (no, 'lol, Penguins' isn't useful) but Gamma deserves a vote or two too for lurking. Especially since we can't expect any mod action for lurking in this game, we have to do the prodding ourselves.

So, a quite serious call to everybody: please do participate! The last game suffered very strongly from extreme lurkiness. Please don't do that again. No matter whether you're scum or town or something else, not playing makes a game not fun. I know RL intervenes sometimes and I know that finding things to say may be difficult if you're scum. But please do make the effort. Lurking is unfair to all other players!

RWarehall: 4) Votes must be clear without the use of Google translate. For example, Egyptian hieroglyphics talking about fighting the flu is not a valid vote.
My mind immediately went to this scene, from the old Disney movie Sword in the Stone. For those who haven't seen it, one of the rules prior to the start of the duel was "Nothing imaginary, like pink dragons".
avatar
docbear1975: For those who have placed a vote, what is your reasoning?
RVS fun and to get people talking and interacting. I am one that believes that no matter what point in the game slips can always happen and RSV playing around can bring information as well as just getting a feel for the players and the game.

UNVOTE YOGS

bler144: otoh,
I see this and read it as uh oh, I just goggles what does otoh stand for. Damn getting old blows.

avatar
bler144: I don't drink much anymore either. Anyway, I think that's it from me until tomorrow eve.

Have fun y'all.
And im over here like

Yeah where is Gamma?

I do agree that gamma needs to show up. But starting a wagon that could take off rolling somehow is not good. We have a back up player and that should be addressed first before wildly lynching someone and possibly taking out a major role.

Lifthrasil: One person who is intentionally irritating (Yogs), which also is his usual way but irritating nonetheless.
I wouldn't say being intentionally irritating for the sake of it is his usual way. Normally there seems to be some kind of intention behind his antics that makes [some] sense in the correct context. This time I also fail to see the potential context. Initially I though it might be some sort of posting restriction (real or pretended) but the penguins posts seems to disprove that.

TL;DR - yes, this time it does seem to be unhelpful by intention, but unlike what you stated I do find it a bit abnormal.
there HSL goes, being scummy by trying to find any reason to find anyone can be scum in his post 21 - pings for HSL

drealmer7: let's hope I can not get modkilled this game! IT'S A GOAL!!!
avatar
Sage103082: Wait... Why did you phrase it that way? Something you wanna share?
phrase it what way? instead of how? I want to share that I am making it a goal to not get modkilled? really not sure what you're trying to get at / imply here please explain
avatar
Bookwyrm627: A quick check, and currently someone in the dead thread is beating out Sage, Bler, and Gamma on post count. Add in Inspector Clouseau over here, and I've got a list of people to lynch while a good candidate is in absentia.
avatar
Sage103082: I feel the love. Come on now. Some of us have commitments in real life and have to deal with them before being able to get and see if the game started. =)
this seems overly defensive for how early in to the game it is, but I'll also note that wyrm's 'list of people to lynch' from it seems ridiculous this early in the game

avatar
HijacK: The 40s have hit you hard, haven't they, trent?
avatar
trentonlf: 40's have nothing to do with it, I stopped drinking for the most part after age 23, just really not my thing LOL. I'm just a sexy homeboy :-)
in his 40s and in a retirement home already? something fishy there!!!

also, fixed the underlined part for you all

avatar
HijacK: I used to enjoy dark beer quite a bit too. The empty carbs in it though.... not so much.
I STARTED drinking beer at 26 for the extra carbs so I could try and gain weight, it helped a little but 1.) wasn't my thing and 2.) didn't make enough of a difference for me to keep up with it - now I never intend to drink alcohol again

avatar
Lifthrasil: Please switch back to English. Otherwise I'll see that as you volunteering to be the D1 lynch. Someone, who intentionally makes the game difficult for all others, is a good D1 lynch!
he already did - this seems like a contrived reason for a vote, a fake over-reaction - especially combined with the underlined part, since you already voted him it seems as though you're already okay lynching him D1?

Lifthrasil: Gamma deserves a vote or two too for lurking. Especially since we can't expect any mod action for lurking in this game, we have to do the prodding ourselves.
how do you know it's lurking and just not slow-starting / busy ?

in my experience gamma is an abundant poster and will get his head in the game when he has the time - I think I've only seen him as scum once though? gamma is that right? is that crazy? wait, there was the most bastard game too if you want to count that socute

ummm, it's only 1 day into the game - this seems really off / out of place at this point

I don't think so. I think a plea to actually participate isn't out of place anywhere and it is independent from any faction or role. It's just something that is important to me as a player. Especially after the last game. You yourself referenced the last game to and stated that you will try not to get modkilled this time. So explain to me: why was that not out of place, but asking people to participate more than in the last game is?

Oh, wait. I know the answer. Your post wasn't out of place because it came from you. But if someone else posts the same or something similar, it's out of place, because it didn't come from you. Right?

Or in other words: you are stretching a bit and measuring with two measures just to disagree for disagreements sake. But that's nothing new.
@drealmer, I can say for sure that sexy homeboy is not something that describes me LOL

@yogs, If you could tell me in English, what do you think of people's reaction to your posts in Chinese and what was your intent with them?

I don't see how the 2 are similar at all. please explain how they are

We're barely 24 hours in to the game, which I consider it too early to be worried about 'how much people are going to participate' - and I am a person who believes in people participating more in general so it is out of place / premature to me because at this point I'm not even 'there'
very profound, slothy

drealmer7: I don't see how the 2 are similar at all. please explain how they are
You (paraphrased): "I got modkilled last game. That was bad. I'll try not to do that again."
Me (paraphrased): "Activity was low last game. That was bad. Try not to do that again."

See the similarities now? Or is it still too difficult to grasp?
My chinese broke
@ drealmer: How is HSL being scummy in post 21?

@ lift: Sometimes it can be hard finding something to say as town.

Give me a day or two and I'll figure out the whole quoting function.
