cristigale: @Hyper - who, if anyone, is your preferred vote today?

trentonlf: I know you were asking Hyper, but I also want to answer this because I think we are going to have a bad lynch. I think docbear is still new at playing and struggling to convey her thoughts after someone else has said the same thing she is thinking. As I said before I see her play as town, but someone new to the game and struggling. I think scum are using that to their advantage and lynching a townie.

I still say Hijack is full it and should be the lynch, but unfortunately it looks like that's not happening.
Do you have the ability to ISO? If so, would you ISO doc in drealmer's game and tell me what you think? I'm doing it now, it's doesn't take long. Here's a link: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/oakwood_village_forum_mafia_game_42/page1
Tell me she self-hammered as a wolf to stifle conversation.

gdi

RW's at work we should still have time to talk before thread gets locked down.

I have to think about my shot now

I'm have that feeling. Something is off here. I'm reminded of that game where we all were scum and some specific role could change flips to Town something (vanilla?!) if they hammered.

I already did that a few days ago, and I found her posting there when she was town and now to be very similar in tone. I could have it all wrong, but she feels town to me.

I can't help but notice that you don't ask me who my preferred lynch is, but who my preferred vote is.

I'm nowhere further with my read/feel on docbear1975, and I'm not sure I read her continued absence the way a lot of others do. In her last post she made it pretty clear that she's resigned to her fate being the D1 lynch, so not much, if any, reason from her PoV to return, regardless of alignment.

I can hope that we'll hit scum here, though I don't particularly like a couple of votes on her wagon, but she seems to be going down one way or the other.

Lifthrasil pings me a lot, besides my earlier arguments, I certainly don't like how he ignores or dances around questions, and keeps throwing out stuff but has no arguments to back it up when asked to.
I'm not sure I particularly like the votes he has, however. The first two have some "you're scummy because you think I'm scummy" feel to them. As for yours, while you seem pretty game-solving, the way you made your case feels quite like the way you use as scum, while you never said why flubbucket and Bookwyrm627 are your third and forth choice. Which gives me pause.

Well, I just refreshed the thread, and see that she self-hammered, with no claim, and a bunch of stuff that doesn't exactly make sense as town.

docbear1975: *comes slinking in*

Well I didn't mean to disappear for a couple of days. I am utterly ashamed of myself and the way I've played. I deserve to be lynched. I think the fairest thing to do is bring the hammer down on myself. I realize I'm probably committing a cardinal sin, but at this point I think it's the best way to proceed.

[Vote Docbear1975b]
How about a claim?
Or she's Town and is actually sorry for the way she handled this and believes a "punishment" is in order. But that's in no way a good town play and I'm pretty sure doc has enough understanding of the game to realize that. I think. Something is off here. Spidey senses tingling hard.

Oh man. In a world with possible dual death miller, flips that might or might not ever show a role, mud on everything that moves and a few things that don't, and who-knows-what-else, this move feels like the perfect capstone for this Day 1. Literal laughter here on my end.

I don't care what anyone else says, Docbear. I want to give you a high five.

Was that on gog or somewhere else?

That was Lift's game with 4 scum teams, each had a godfather who could make the person lynched appear as vanilla if they hammered.
I mean, doc is offline now :D She came, she hammered herself and she left. They have to give points for that. I don't know what points but some points for sure.
Trying to rush this out there before threadlock

I was trying to think of different scenarios if Doc flips Town or Mafia, but I think it ends up the same...

I'm blasting Hijack.

There's a key problem with his claim. He's softed "Bodyguard" pretty loud and clear. Well, Town Bodyguard is a totally normal role. But how on earth does that fit with a Miller claim? At all? Bodyguards protect somebody. Why would you have a key Town protective role also tie-in with a horrible "Death Miller" mechanic? Make your critical Town protective role show up as "Mafia" to a Cop? I can't buy it. Bodyguard works as a Mafia role because you've got buddies with more important abilities to save. The "me too" timing of his claim is bad, and ultimately... we know he will flip Mafia already. The WIFOM will never go away. It's better than wasting a lynch on him.

I am aware of the hypocrisy here, but understand from my point of view - I know my claim is legit but I can never know his, and it's better to resolve it by removing the player we know will flip Mafia Night one before it becomes a bigger problem.

And, ya know, maybe he's just Mafia.

Gives JMich a chance too.

I fervently hope that she is a jester, and she's giving us dual birds as she laughs her way to a victory and the dead thread.

Her hammer doesn't look to accomplish anything for any other role/alignment, just ends the Day for her so she doesn't need to worry about it anymore.

Yep, I actually expect the same.

When I did it, I thought the tone was different, but could be explained, to some extent at least.

Even if it's the first bit, why not claim?

I certainly hope nothing similar is in play.
@trent - I think that last request is moot now, but thanks for answering. I thought she felt more natural in that game. Her posts here seemed more forced. We'll hopefully know soon enought, do you think town-doc self hammers?

@Hyper - I said preferred vote because doc already seemed like the obvious lynch. I wanted to know who you thought was scummy.
