I know you're voting Gamma but what are your thoughts and opinion on me and adaliabooks? Thoughts and opinions on drealmer and Hyper?

I want more conversation from everyone if possible so what's everyone's opinion on what I asked RW?

I still need to ISO people, will have more time this weekend to dig into it, but if you want my loose impression so far...

Trent - I already expressed my concern about the quick turnaround on thought, but since you tend to be "reveal averse" in most games, and gave a reasonable explanation for the turnaround, I didn't notice anything that came out and says "Scum" yet.

Adalia - While I find being overly defensive and constantly worried about being viewed as scummy to feel scummy, this isn't unusual for Adalia from past games. Will require a deeper read.

Drealmer - I didn't notice anything that particularly stood out as different from the usual Drealmer. Seems to be paranoid about the usual players he's paranoid about. Seems to be overly defensive at any suspicion. The brief absence seemed a bit concerning, but it was early in the day. Again will require a deeper read to distinguish my usual scum read of him from his typical play.

Hyper - Seems to be asking the usual "too many questions", nothing different from what I remember. I have him town primarily because I cannot imagine he would double up on picks as scum with the 3rd pick. I don't think of Hyper as the type of player to take such an early and big chance like that.
I never said I was right or the only one who was right, wtf?!
I'll be busy this weekend but will still be on mobile to check in. I sure hope activity picks up because the last thing we need is for the game to get stagnant. I've left some questions for everyone and also asked before if everyone could try to come up with their own questions so we could get more interactions from everyone.

If I promise booze and strippers will that spark an interest in the thread?

I'm unfortunately (or fortunately? depends how much you like to read my posts I suppose) also not going to be around much over the weekend.

But at this rate it doesn't look like that will be an issue...

Thanks you too, but it's actually work that will keep me from being around as I work weekends.
End of day - 3/10/17

Votecount
drealmer7 (2): adaliabooks, Lifthrasil
GammaEmerald (1): RWarehall
adaliabooks (1): drealmer7

Not Voting: GammaEmerald, gogtrial34987, Hunter65536, HypersomiacLive, trentonlf

drealmer7 is closest to lynch at L-3.
I just hit cancel instead of submit on a longish post and BOOM gone, finger slipped

that is the first time I ever accidentally hit the cancel button, usually it just gets eaten or I clear a highlighted section with a keypress accidentally or something, but this...this is new, and a bit upsetting

soo

short version:

not like RW's posts still - again, non-commital, obvious, and lacking any real analysis

pls quit complaining about my participation unless you think it is relevant to the scumhunt, or if you think it is so offensive and mod didn't handle it severly enough, complain to her, otherwise, keep the focus and don't dwell on me not being around to give my lovely inputs as much as you'd have liked

I can vote adalia, RW, or lift today at this point
I'll be away on the weekend again. So I won't have time to read or write much either.

I'm on my phone so can't link you the site, but there's a program called Lazarus for what happened to you. It saves what you are typing and if you accidentally delete it the program can recover it all. It has saved me a few times on my pc (I don't have it on my phone, not even sure it's an option for the phone).

adaliabooks: [...] I'm not really trying to sway others. It's far too early in the game to bother with that. I have presented an argument, it's up to everyone else to decide if it has any merit.

Later on, when we have more to work with and some concrete data (flips) then I might actively try to sway people's opinions. Right now it's pretty pointless, whatever lynch we get today is likely to be as good as any other. We'd have to be fairly lucky to actually hit scum. [...]
*rattles dice*

How's that, adaliabooks? ;-P

avatar
adaliabooks: [...] But this above paragraph is actually my issue with your playstyle (which I generally find very effective), it works best on low hanging fruit. I do cave under pressure, but I do it as town as often as scum (and you'll have to admit that is the case), the more I write the bigger hole I tend to dig for myself, and I can't help it. I can't see the point of playing if I'm not actually going to be involved.
drealmer is actually fairly similar I think, the more he says the worse he looks. So under pressure from you we both end up looking bad, whether we are town or scum.
Now, if we are on opposite teams it's a positive result for you. If we are both town, it's not. [...]
Only on low hanging fruit? You hurt my feelings, adaliabooks. *sheds tear*

While it's true that you cave and crumble under pressure as either alignment, there's a difference between your scum and town way, and the more you talk the more distinct it gets.

For all the pressure you may feel I put you under, and made you look bad, I'd not vote you Today. Unless you did something to make me re-evaluate the sort of crumbling I see. If you have succeeded to blur that line, I'll tip my hat to you, and will have to revise the way I approach and read you.

I won't, however, go so far as to say that you're probably misguided townie regarding trentontlf; he's pretty smooth passing as town when scum, and the line between town-him and scum-him is so very fine that constant self-check about any sort of confirmation-bias applies in his case more than in anyone else's perhaps.

What does stand out to me about trentonlf is:
1. He's said that if/when he finds someone to be scummy, he's all over them, and I've seen him do this in past games.
2. He's a firm believer of "our vote is our weapon, more so as town vanillas, and we should use it", and I've also seen him do this in past games.
3. For all his talk about drealmer7 appearing scummy, and having picked him as his top scum-pick, he's neither all over him, nor has he placed a vote on him.

Now, he may argue that he hasn't been all over drealmer7 as to not pour more gasoline to the fire because... drealmer7, but the lack of a vote is pretty noticeable.

avatar
adaliabooks: [...] Meanwhile you're not really putting pressure (that I have noticed) on say hunter, trent or gogtrial because they haven't posted as much.
Maybe that's because you find them townie and it's a more conscious decision than that but it doesn't appear that way to me. [...]
One does not approach all players the same way; how and when I apply my pressure tactic depends on the player I put my pretty blue Eye on.

avatar
adaliabooks: [...] I'd also be interested to know what messages drealmer is referring to. For once I have actually read all his posts. [...]
Come come now, don't act all puzzled; the ones he left you in the scum chat, of course. *wink wink*

Are you asking for opinions on each one of drealmer7 and me, or for opinions on our clash?

Depends, how can we be sure you'll deliver?

I use Lazarus From Recovery on Firefox, and it still works well for me. Sadly, the site with versions for other browsers doesn't load anymore, and it appears it's no longer supported. A couple of peeps are working on reviving it, but only for Firefox from what I could see on their GitHub page. If you're on a Chrome based browser, this extension might do the job. I've also seen this userscript being recommended as a replacement for Lazarus. Note, though that I have no personal experience with either of these.

Will you give any inputs/insights within the weekend?

And GammaEmerald has been awfully quiet these past couple of days.
I did a quick re-read...
I would also be willing to vote Hunter today.

I suggest ISOing him and see what you think...
