he is an excellent actor

I'll watch pretty much anything with him in it

sure he isn't always GREAT (he enjoys doing mindless action, so what?), but, he often is, actually

absolutely superb in:

Magnolia
Vanilla Sky
Valkyrie
Collateral

and at least a dozen more great performances
