bah, I was already typing it! refreshed and saw cristi and your posts and then it ate my claim when I went to respond (duh, I know it does that frequently, but wasn't thinking quickly enough), so I have to retype a bit, but yes, it is incoming. Here's some pre-emptive WIFOM: I don't think it's going to go over well and I'm hesitant to do it but at this point we must put all the cards on the table and trust we townies to make the right reads and choices.

At the start of day two, my first thought was the Strongman kill. RWarehall mentions dreaming about a shot. No one else says they dreamed it, but Krypsyn specifically says he did not dream about it (post #514) which led me to believe he heard something, but not in a dream. Early on I’m thinking strongman. But that’s not the only explanation, I could be insane (50% chance of killing according to the wiki) or naïve (ineffective). My PM mentioned I needed some luck to save him, so the insane thing makes sense as well. If I’m naive, oh well, at least I’m not hurting anything.

Back to the insane bit, it sounds like everyone heard something night one. Either there really was a shot, we are having a mass hallucination, or the mod put the BANG in there to mislead us. My take on N1 (at least at the time) was I acted to help someone in need. It was inclusive why my help was not successful.

If it helps, I heard a shot in a dream, but I was also attacked and killed the way Adalia was in my first dream of the night, so it definitely was not clear whether this was real or not to me. I kinda assumed it was, since it "felt" like a mod hint, but when there was not much response upon my first mention, I tabled it.

2 things before my claim:
How do you know there's only 1 mafia other than the traitor? And you do understand that your confirmation is less than solid, yes? Why are you treating it as irrefutable?

I'm Lisa, retired FBI Agent (and I'm town.) However, my skills are still good and so two nights through the game I'm allowed to investigate someone to try and figure out if they look like a serial killer.

N1 I investigated trentonlf. The read came back with a lot of extraneous information but I (Lisa) ultimately determined he was not a person who has ever killed anyone and that he is not guilty of being a serial killer. Then you all lynched him and he flipped SK. Hence my comment about "in essence he is a SK role-wise, but in flavor, he is not a killer" and at about the same time I concluded that all investigatory reads are most probably false.

N2 I investigated RWarehall. The read came back that RW is obsessed with fire and is filled with rage and is absolutely guilty of being a serial killer. My thought since the previous day's happenings with trent became: that RW is in this ward as a patient in for treatment for his past serial killerings and is actually "town" even though he is a serial killer by trade (I bet he was seeing the psychiatrist, trentonlf, trying to get cured so he could be released.)

As a player, I also think RW to be town. More support for the "all investigatory reads are false" line of thought.

Oh and of course, the realyl important stuff: Jordan is my favorite NKOTB.

I also think it is highly possible that cristi is a mafia killer, whose flavor is of the "intending to be helpful crappy surgeon" vain, but in reality is "you botch all of your attempts and kill anyone you operate on" (JMich + wyrm.)

I admit at first I translated it as "two neutrals" and allowed that to skew me a bit, however there were at least 2 neutrals if you count adalia.

There's bound to be more than 1 mafia left, if you're town then flub and cristi are mafia. If Cristi is the doctor then you and flub are mafia. That's what I meant before, there still more than 1 scum alive.

Actually I think it makes more sense if cristi is an mad doctor rather than an ineffective one, operating on people who otherwise would be perfectly fine and alive because she wants to practice her skills on unassuming patients who are asleep or somesuch. I suppose I could be wrong, of course, but I'm just not buying it more and more.

I don't know why a BANG is interpreted so solidly as gunfire by some. TO ME, it's just a bang like someone throwing a bed-pan against the floor or 100 other possibilities.

I also do not think the hand in dedo's room is dedo's hand.

@cristi Why didn't the scum go for you? You were a sure kill whereas there was a risk that Bookwyrm could be saved by you. (Since they don't know how effective you are at saving people)

I did not hear a gunshot, I heard a bang. Those who heard gunshots only "dreamt" of them, and I think we all know how dreams can input sounds from the real-world into dream-world and change them. I believe your sleeping brain heard the BANG (of a bed-pan or somesuch) and translated it as a gunshot.

I wasn't dreaming when I heard it, I was awake.

but are you certain it was a gunshot? also, bler is a bastard, I figure this bit of "information" is meant to be ambiguous and distracting and not actually help figure anything out

N2… I find Bookwyrm's door, hear something, enter the room and the noise gets louder…it’s an explosive device! (when I first read this, I thought, how the hell does a surgeon protect someone from an explosive device...just you wait). The sound seems to be coming from the sleeping Bookwyrm…it’s a drug-delivery-system-that-is-inserted-into-the-rectum-explosive-device. Don’t ask how it got there. Being up to the challenge, I sedate him, don my protective gear, and dive in. After some time it dawns on me that I don’t know how to deactivate the explosive device if I find it. The damage is already done. I return to my room and drift off to sleep wondering when that explosive device will detonate. The D3 flavor speaks to this.
