trentonlf: How do I have my wires crossed? I said the same thing you did? And how are "we" going to investigate Hunter, you're the one who is suppose to be the cop?
You said:
-"If you read Hunter as mafia and he flips town it would prove you are insane or paranoid"
-"If you read Hunter as mafia and he flips mafia your reads would be randomized and useless as well."

I'm saying:
-If I read Hunter as mafia and he flips town, then we're no better off. We already have two "Read town as mafia" instances, so we already know I'm either insane or paranoid (I'm discarding the 'Random' option for any future consideration, unless new evidence for it is found).
-If I read Hunter as Mafia and he flips mafia, the correct conclusion would be that I'm paranoid (all reads are Mafia), not that I'm random.

I stand by my statement that I think you got a few wires crossed.

trentonlf: So we should lynch today, who should we lynch in your opinion? What if we lynch a townie today and there are two more deaths tonight(with one probably being a townie), how will town fare tomorrow with 5 people alive.
As for the lynch:
-Cristi has been mentally flagged as my favorite since some time during Day 1. CSPVG's flip casts all sorts of doubt on this, but my mind is still has that mental flag. I've been trying to shake it, but I have to acknowledge that I currently can't trust any of my personal instincts on her alignment.

-RW is my current favorite lynch candidate. I've now voted in this direction, after seeing his response to my questions.
-Drealmer is still a popular lynch candidate for me.
-I'm on the fence about you; benefit of the doubt puts you lower on my list.

I think town needs to lynch. If we sit around, 2 kills are going to very, very rapidly whittle our already low numbers. I think town needs to forget about using the cop reads (mostly) in the meantime, and rely on old-fashioned brain power for scum hunting. If you lynch me today, I seriously doubt you'll have any more cop reads at all anyway.

trentonlf: Also, what kind of message are you sending to flub with this?:

What have you seen? Are you going to continue to be coy about things like you were on day 1? Maybe I was right and you are playing us as scum, I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt but you are making it hard.
I've noticed a couple of things that no one else seems to have commented on. I don't know if that means I'm the only one, or if others are keeping it to themselves.
-Did you notice the number of files I've got access to?
-Did you notice RW's accusation based on double voting? Did you think about what it means?
avatar
Bookwyrm627: snip
I didn't twist the words. You lied to us. And where did I say I wasn't also a double-voter? I seemed to believe you at first, so why do you think that is?

You implied on post #43 that you were Vanilla and a Double-voter. Guess what, so am I. And I'm not "strictly a Vanilla" as I have a multiple shot fireproof. Your claim matched my role spot on, so I believed you. But now, you aren't a Vanilla are you? And the whole "strictly" thing sure sounds like Bler told you every Vanilla in the game had a double-voter power and had an additional something. How would a Town Desk Cop know Vanilla PM's "weren't strictly Vanilla"?

I see no explanation for you coming out with that information, as a convenient cover for cop, so soon and painting a target on yourself as "confirmed town" unless you somehow knew everyone else had those powers too and might respond favorably to the reveal.

And the only way I can think you could know this is if the mod told you.

Because as an actual Town, I had no way of knowing others had the same powers until you brought it up.

Hunter65536: If we believed CSPVG day 1 then why would we lynch Bookwyrm who at worst considered paranoid or insane cop at that time?
avatar
trentonlf: So you think at worst Bookwyrm is either paranoid or insane? So the chance that Bookwyrm is scum is not bad but you? My comment you quoted above was not me saying I think Bookwyrm is town, my comment was me saying I hope this is not the bastard element Bler warned us about.

The fact that I'm choosing to believe CSPVG was not insane or paranoid has no bearing on bookwyrm's state of mind.
I did not phrase my statement properly, what I meant was that on day 1 most of us believed Bookwyrm to be a cop and those who didn't trust his result felt he could be paranoid or insane. So if we had trusted CSPVG on day 1 we would not have lynched Bookwyrm since CSPVG said nothing about Bookwyrm. Most likely there would have been a random lynch among rest on day 1 which means we wouldn't be doing the same dance with CSPVG as you said. Should've quoted better as well I guess.

Thank you for answering my questions

I concede that a Mafia read and Hunter flipping Mafia could mean you are paranoid also or random, I failed to consider paranoid in that instance but the rest is what I said.

I noticed on day 1 when you said there were 10 files but we had 11 players. It means either someone tampered with the files or someone is in here with us and is not a patient.

I did just see RW's accusation about the double voting. I also said I day 1 I was the same, and I believe Krypsyn did as well, that I could double vote but the day was so far out there it wasn't going to happen. His accusation of you based on that makes no sense.

So you don't find it suspicious at all that on post #43, before anyone else has revealed anything about the game...
Before any other double-voter claims...
Before any reveals about any other Vanillas...

Bookwyrm uses a cop cover that mentions both double-voters and that Vanilla are not strictly Vanilla even though he supposedly has an actual role and isn't a Vanilla himself?

How would he know that is a good cover?
Just one doubt about the plan, why does it have to be me? Comparing with what CSPVG had wouldn't help us since he isn't here anymore. What am I missing here?
avatar
Hunter65536: Just one doubt about the plan, why does it have to be me? Comparing with what CSPVG had wouldn't help us since he isn't here anymore. What am I missing here?
They are working under the assumption that both CSPVG and Bookwyrm were insane, so since that makes you Mafia, when Bookwyrm reads you and claims you read Town, you then get lynched.

Of course if Bookwyrm is playing us, and I think post #43 shows that as likely, your lynch seals the win for scum...well...or the serial killer.

As to why I think scum killed their own traitor, read the night post. JMich's death looks like a botched surgery (while possibly a failed doctor protection) it doesn't look like a mafia hit. A severed hand sure looks like one though.

Hunter65536: Just one doubt about the plan, why does it have to be me? Comparing with what CSPVG had wouldn't help us since he isn't here anymore. What am I missing here?
That plan is something that's not going to happen, there's not enough people and days for it to be viable if we continue to have two deaths a night. Plus the only way that plan would work is if Bookwyrm really is town and not scum playing us.

@RWarehall I'm not seeing how his post #43 is a bad post? It seemed to me he was trying to say he had a power to double vote but since he couldn't use it that he was more vanilla than not. If he was trying to not reveal that he was a cop I understand why he would say that. How does that post incriminate him?

Doesn't he seem awfully confident that he will be believed? That this double-voter power will confirm him as town? And as to using the words "not strictly vanilla", it sure sounds as if he had some knowledge that all vanillas were not strictly vanilla. This reminds me of all the discussions we've had about how to stop PM abuse....

My suggestion multiple times was one could give scum a vanilla PM in scum chat so they could make an early claim if they want.

The fact he isn't vanilla but rather a Town Desk Cop (or so he claims) but still thought revealing double-voter would provide cover, indicates to me he had some additional knowledge that this claim would work...that he somehow knew vanillas have the same power.

And the only way I see him obtaining this knowledge is by comparing it with the PM's of others or being told directly by the mod.
avatar
RWarehall: I didn't twist the words. You lied to us. And where did I say I wasn't also a double-voter? I seemed to believe you at first, so why do you think that is?
I have been exceedingly careful NOT to lie, especially when I was avoiding the complete truth on Day 1. Quote my lie, please. I have told the truth, and nothing but the truth (to the best of my knowledge (ex. for the disclaimer: I genuinely thought CSPVG was mafia, though he was actually town)). You could have believed me at first simply because you had no reason to doubt me at the time, and two other players had already chimed in with a "me too" before your next post.

Lets take a look at something you just said a little bit ago:
avatar
RWarehall: I'm not buying it. Re-reading, I'm getting the feeling he's scum and was tipped off to the Double-voter power... <snip> Besides, is an actual non-vanilla role going to also have that?
Did I misinterpret something here? Looks to me like you're questioning why a non-vanilla role would have a double voter power. Is your anti-arsonist power an actual non-vanilla role, or are you lacking the useless double vote?

I remember JMich, the Poison-Immune Town Backup Surgeon, seems to have had a double voter power as well.

avatar
RWarehall: You implied on post #43 that you were Vanilla and a Double-voter. Guess what, so am I. And I'm not "strictly a Vanilla" as I have a multiple shot fireproof. I said I wasn't strictly vanilla, and I'm not. I'm not vanilla at all. I simply stated it in such a fashion that people would read between the lines to get a false message. Let the scum hunt elsewhere for the cop, while I sit here until I'm ready to claim.

Yes, Bler did tell me that no one in the game is pure vanilla. You remember, you was there too!

avatar
RWarehall: I see no explanation for you coming out with that information, as a convenient cover for cop, so soon and painting a target on yourself as "confirmed town" unless you somehow knew everyone else had those powers too and might respond favorably to the reveal.
How the devil would my claiming a useless double voter power confirm me as town?? What other hint was there about the double vote before I placed that claim?

I was using carefully crafted statements about my useless power to signal to scum that I'm not worth NKing if they want to kill a power role. I'll apply misdirection in future games too, if I've got a town power role to keep alive.

avatar
RWarehall: And the only way I can think you could know this is if the mod told you.

Because as an actual Town, I had no way of knowing others had the same powers until you brought it up.
Others chimed in with zero prompting from me on whether they had a similar power. I didn't ask for it at the time, and I don't think I've asked for it during the entirety of Day 1 (not going to go through my posts again to confirm this bit).

I didn't know and I didn't give a fig whether anyone else had a double voter power.

trentonlf: Thank you for answering my questions
Satisfied (for the moment), or do you have further questions for me?

Did you notice that Dedo didn't flip an ID number? Does this mean his ID was removed, or was he the odd man out in the file count?

THE HINT! WHERE DID THE HINT GO!?!

As for the rest, I've answered it in this post.

Hunter65536: Just one doubt about the plan, why does it have to be me? Comparing with what CSPVG had wouldn't help us since he isn't here anymore. What am I missing here?
Because you're the only one where a confirmed town cop gave a "Town" read. I've only had Mafia reads with Town flips so far. See previous posts for what my read + your flip means about my mental state.

It isn't you, specifically, so much as you were CSPVG's target on N0.

-----

avatar
RWarehall: They are working under the assumption that both CSPVG and Bookwyrm were insane, so since that makes you Mafia, when Bookwyrm reads you and claims you read Town, you then get lynched.
We've reviewing a method to figure out my mental state; we aren't just assuming that I'm one thing or another. We don't know CSPVG's mental state; he could have been an Insane cop or a Naive cop (depending on Hunter's flip). I've already discarded the idea of investigating and lynching Hunter just to discover my mental state, precisely because it very likely puts town in a lost game.

avatar
RWarehall: Of course if Bookwyrm is playing us, and I think post #43 shows that as likely, your lynch seals the win for scum...well...or the serial killer.
I'm thinking I might have been playing YOU, and townies are just along for the ride.

We're missing Dedo's body almost entirely, and burning could remove the body. Dedo's room shows little sign of struggle, so maybe he was suckered into going along (fits a mafia kill). Or maybe he was just knocked out first. I see no reason to so strongly assume that Bulletproof (an ability typically used to stop mafia kills) Dedo was a mafia kill.

Also too early to tell whether JMich was protected by an insane Doctor or just killed by anti-town. Mafia could cut someone open, or some psycho just wanted to play in his guts or perhaps simply delighted in "operating" on the surgeon.

For that matter, how do you know a Town Vig didn't get one of them?
@RW Thanks for explaining it.

@trent So what do we do now?

The fact that Kryspyn made it through n1 makes me think he might be scum or SK. :)
BONG!

A grandfather clock you had not noticed before suddenly gonged to mark the hour, startling Drealmer awake momentarily, and interrupting the debate going on amongst RW, Wyrm, Trent, and Hunter. Krypsyn wandered back in from making himself a snack.

"Where'd you find that?" inquired Cristi?
"Oh, there were several boxed lunches on that gurney in the hallway," he replied.

"Hey, where's flub?" Looking around, he had disappeared. Concern started to mount that something awful had happened, when she returned, wheeling the gurney with the boxes. She parked the gurney in the corner, and then very helpfully started opening up all the boxes, taking off the packaging, and handing out the sandwiches.

"Uh, thanks, said Trent. But you could have left it in the packaging for me to unwrap. Would have been a bit more sanitary."
"Where were you, anyway?" asked RW.
"Oh, I had to, you know, go to the bathroom. Something I ate this morning didn't agree with me."
"I hope you at least washed your hands" Asked Hunter.
"Uhhhh...yeah. I did. Totally. Of course. Well, I was going to, but there didn't seem to be any soap."

On the verge of a bite, Cristi stopped and slowly put the sandwich down. "It's, uhhh...not quite lunchtime yet anyway, and I've suddenly lost my appetite."

Time has continued to slip away faster than your awareness of it.

The deadline has moved forward, and is now 5pm on Thursday, Mar 31.

Scum already knew I was town (or at least not scum). So yeah, I was very confident that I would be believed by the relevant people. The way Day 1 ended, I wasn't going to be a NK anyway, but I obviously didn't know it when I made that post.

Preserving town power roles is a good thing, right?

I didn't know all vanillas have the same power. For that matter, I still don't. I DID know that all powers have SOME power, because I was paying attention.

Anyway, lunch time. I'll read the rest later.

Why do I have the feeling these lunch sandwiches are the rest of Dedo?
