I will go on record saying a Doctor protecting himself is not unprecedented.

I also like how trentonlf made a memory! =D (I'll never forget where I was when trentonlf spoke his mind....)

Off to work.....
Nuh man you the real MVP! It was your idea, your bluff saved us. Mafia played a perfect game as well, made us lynch 4 of our own.

trentonlf: Yogsloth the fact that a doctor can protect himself is complete BS.
I would agree with this... if the doctor could protect himself, which he couldn't.

Please stick with us - I know the sting is pretty bad now, but just wait for the reveal, please.

I'll be back in a bit after I write everything up.
Incredibly, it was over almost as soon as it began.

“I have something to reveal – it’s cristigale, she’s a LAMIST,” said flubbucket.

“Good enough for me,” agreed dedoporno, as he, hunter, and Dessimu grabbed cristigale and pushed her forward.

The Dean, certainly on the verge of her sanity finally snapping once and for all, pulled out the pistol once more. “Okay, Dr. Zephyr,” she slurred, “Time to pay the piper. Over to the window please.”

cristigale looked around uncertainly… and suddenly began to change. With an animal howl, she began chanting… Ph'nglui mglw'nafh C'thulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! A strange purple glow began to surround her, and her face began to ripple and change with the power flowing through her…

…and then with a deafening BANG, her head exploded in a splash of blood, brains, and skull fragments all over the boardroom table.

cristigale is dead. She was: Dr. Dorothy Zephyr, Proessor of Management Psychology. (MAFIA GOON)

Dean Mariah Adderly Sloth slowly lowered the gently smoking gun, the first real spark of hope and life beginning to creep back into her eyes. “Oh yes, I think we finally got one,” she whispered.

Suddenly, with a howl, trentonlf leapt forward. “Cthulhu will be avenged! AIEEEEEEEEEEEE!” She screamed. She attempted to leap over the table, but without her extra-special super-evil Cthulhu powers, she just tripped and banged her shins. “Ow!” she exclaimed, hopping on one foot.

A moment later, and another deafening bang, and tretonlf’s headless corpse hit the floor.

trentonlf is dead. She was: Dr. Towandah Roberta Sonist, Professor of Information Technology (MAFIA GOON)

Then everyone turned to HypersomniacLive.

“What? She exclaimed indignantly.” Everyone stared expectantly. “Oh, for the love of R’lyeh,” she exclaimed, exasperated. “Just give me that.” She snatched the gun out of Dean Sloth’s trembling hands, pointed the barrel against her temple, and with one last snarl, blew her own head off.

HypersomniacLive is dead. She was: Dr Chāojí Shuìmián Huózhe, Professor of Behavioral Sciences. (MAFIA ROLE COP)

“Ladies,” began Dean Sloth, “I know we’ve had a rough start… but the evil is finally cleansed. The five of us can rebuild. Will you stay?”

One after another, the group looked at one another.

flubbucket has won. She was: Dr. Maria de Cangilón, Professor of Finance (TOWN COP)

Hunter65536 has won. She was: Dr. Tutu du Seize, Professor of Humanities (TOWN DOCTOR)

dedoporno has won. She was: Dr. Kŭrvava Bukhalka Zhena, Professor of Operations (TOWN TRACKER)

Dessimu has won. She was: Dr. Rumina Abiitsemper, Professor of Marketing (TOWN VANILLA)

Without even speaking, they all nodded, and placed their hands in a center circle. A new bond was formed – a new day was dawning.

As one they joined together and embraced… the new Women’s Institute For Organizational Management!

TOWN HAS WON

But off in the distance, just outside the window… they thought they could faintly hear a single word spoken in the wind… zítra

Dedoporno, your bluff was amazing! Though I must admit, at the very first moment I was unsure if I should invoke LAL like a zealous townfolk or should I go along. Though going along seemed like a perfect plan, considering me being vanilla, so if I die - what the heck - that is my only super power, right? Protect the really powerful guys!

That said, sorry trentonlf. I know, town should never lie, but hey - it was for a greater good this time. I suspect you tried to kill me tonight and Hunter saved me? Or did you try to kill flubbucket and he was saved by Hunter?

Oh, and I feel a very great deal of respect to the Mafia group. Amazing players and even in the end of the game I was more inclined to believe that flubbucket was actually Mafia and pulled the greatest con, rather than thinking HypersomniacLive to be Mafia. Trentonlf, you are too good. I can say already that if we are ever again in the game together, I am not going to trust you blindly. This is a compliment.
So the scum team WASN'T Dedo, Flub, and Dessimu? Shucks.
Many thanks, Yogsloth, for a great game. Being it third of mine, where I got a lot of fun being just vanilla, means for me that game was fantastic. With all the developments of how Krypsyn (Serial Killer) was killed on N1 and then that all Town Power roles survived till the end, Mafia stood alive till the very end as well - simply amazing. And the flavor was hilarious. If you ever decide to run another game, I would most definitely like to participate again!

It was actually intended to work as it did - not only to protect the actual doctor but you as well. I'm real glad you picked up so good and managed to get a believable back story to sell it better and Hunter was smart enough to protect the Vanilla rather than the Cop. Like I said, good job, guys - it was you who did the real carrying in the end :)

All in all, great game every one! It was intense until the very end.

@Trent, don't get too sour, my friend. This was by far the best mafia play I've experienced so far where Town actually didn't do that much idiotic stuff. Good job!
@Krypsyn - why kill me, of all people, on N1?

Along with that - many thanks, Hunter, for saving my life! Twice!
So, some thoughts:

I was aware this game had the potential to be a bit “swingy”, of course, with a serial killer and a general lack of power roles. Mafia in particular could be seen as underpowered, but with so many Town Vanillas to hide behind, I felt the key to Mafia victory would be to try and ID and eliminate the small number of Town power roles and then just blend in. Town would have to avoid lynching the vanillas and have some lucky night actions in order to uncover Mafia… and then, of course, the SK would be running around killing both.

You’ll notice that Mafia played a nearly flawless game according to that very theory above. Their role cop nailed all three Town power roles one after the other – perfect choices. They maneuvered to lynch the helpless vanilla players every single Day. I truly hope that they can overcome any hard feelings in the loss to realize just how incredibly well they played – certainly during the Day phase.

Where they lost was due to the single best Mafia gambit I’ve ever seen.

It’s the type of play where, if you do lose, you should feel happy to lose that way, because it was so creative, daring, and fun… plays like that SHOULD be rewarded with victory, and you just have to shake your head, laugh, and then shake the hands of the players who pulled it off and congratulate them.

So, congrats dedo, for an absolutely masterful bluff… and congrats to Hunter and Dessimu for figuring it out the correct sequence of plays exactly as dedo intended (but couldn’t explicitly outline!).

Being Mafia is tough. A couple of bad or unlucky night choices, and even the best scam can fall apart. Nobody here thinks cristi, trent, and HSL played badly. Sometimes it just breaks a certain way.
Interesting game to read as observer :-)

Observer, hell! You got shot in the chest and fell out a window!

I hope you guys sort through that massive haul of flavor and find all the ways I entertained nobody other than myself.

My favorite part is probably when adaliabooks sat on dedo. LMAO. Plus lots of potato jokes.
@Hunter - you commented that I might be coming for you next - I really wasn't particularly. HSL was pretty much always my #1 read. Getting him to slip and pinning him down is always the hard part.

If I really had been the cop, he would have been my N2 choice for certain - so they were pretty wise to kill me given I bluffed the hell out of having a role.

@Dedo - that's one hell of a bluff. You played your ass off in the daytimes.
@Hunter - 3 saves in 4 nights...wow.

@Trent - I can't disagree that the role balance was a bit in town's favor. 1-shot something for scum, perhaps.
