bler144: Unfortunate, as I had at least thought you were indicating some follow-up with Leonard in #821, and it would be nice to have some actual substance to chew on one way or another. While I have reasons to vote Leonard, I'm leery of how fast the wagon built and on votes with no meaningful reasons.

[...]
Timezones apart, I've got a sleeping disorder that manifests in a few different patterns, so when sleep finally decides to kick in it'd be unwise of me to fight it.

Quite a few things happening, so I better get to catching up.

Pre-post refresh:

flubbucket: So you are quite close to being lynched.

Will you be claiming or not??
I think this is the first time you've shown any interest in Leonard03, or anything happening around him. If he doesn't claim, will you vote him? And why?
I had a bunch of stuff typed up to share and talk about up until 735 (my post 743 only has me caught up to post 673), but, I'm still way behind and I don't know what is relevant any more. Rather than post this long-ass post of possible-irrelevance, I'm going to hold off and try to make a shorter post that is more current once I've read everything. I'm going to make my way through it all, but:

Is there anything specific anyone wants me to address sooner rather than later?

We know your thoughts on adalibooks, what do you think about Leonard?
Wow. I caught up.

First (to be clear):

I'm not tunnel-visioned on adaliabooks. I keep my awareness wide and all-encompassing, always. Adalia is simply the most solid to me, so my focus has been there. If I had more time, I would have been posting more theories about the other potentialities I see, but, lucky for you all I haven't been able to.

The short of it after all of that I just read+previous things I hadn't commented on yet:

That's a really fast Leonard03 wagon-formation, IMO. I found him suspicious early in D1, and still do, but not any more so than I did since before the piling on. Why I find him suspicious has mostly been covered, but I can go back and quote and elaborate if people would like me to, if I am able to make the time. With other things that have happened I've got others more ahead of him than I had previously, too. With the latest unfoldings I have to say:

(reinforced through more posts, not an agenda that I'm still trying to push or tunnel-vision oblivious to the other goings-on.) Adalia's suspicion is sky-high for me, every post seems scummy or an attempt to not seem scummy with an awareness that that can seem scummy so, is dancing around like a scum with a huge target on his back and doing an amazing job at keeping up the dance.

I think it is quite possible HijacK and adalia are scum-buddies. If it is true, it fits very well together, and I have a very lengthy post typed and saved analyzing all of that that I will spare you all from for now. Their claims conveniently support each other and they are avoiding each other's individual issues pretty much entirely, among other things.

Leonard is 4th most suspicious to me currently but still solid enough so that I could vote him come deadline or if more suspicion accumulates.
Yes bler, I realize it didn't quite work out last time.

I am feeling in a very tough spot this time, though. We have to just get through this Day, because probably starting Tomorrow, we're going to have to take some risks. We are going to have to identify Town players. We just have to.

I'm almost paralyzed here this time because I don't quite know what's going to help or hurt to say out loud.

1) There are two Scum teams. Bet your house.
2) They knew it from the start, and they won't bus each other.
3) BWWRVWLRL2ADIO (Hope that doesn't count as "crypto-claiming".)
4) DO NOT TRUST THE FLIPS. NONE OF THEM. (Except probably P1na, I think that was legit)

Why do you say not to trust the flips?
avatar
yogsloth: 3) BWWRVWLRL2ADIO (Hope that doesn't count as "crypto-claiming".)
Depends. If it is a claim that is encrypted so that only certain people can understand it, then it is a crypto-claim. So, if you want to claim something, just do and don't speak in code. That's the reason behind the 'no crypto claiming' rule, as I understand it. To ensure that any claim can be read and worked with by everyone and to prevent players, who share knowledge of a certain code, to break the game. If we allow code talking, it is too easy to form unplanned and therefore unbalanced quasi-masonic mutually confirmed groups of people right under the nose of everyone, who doesn't know the code.

If, however, this was only the usual crazy talk without deeper meaning, then everything is fine.

HijacK: College internet. Gotta love it.
Also, bler. One does not simply catch up when you post things as big as Babylon itself. For realz. >.>
College internet - now with 50% more pr0n!

Agree on all points - I just cut most of them for brevity. See, I know what brevity means! (whether or not I use it myself)
And for the record I didn't bring it up to suggest my record should give me (or HSL) a pass however he flips, only that I find the overall pattern worrying.

adaliabooks: But I do think he will flip (if possibly not scum) anti town.
...
Anyway, while it's probably going to look like an attempt to save my own ass;

Vote Leonard03
Yes, yes it does look like that. Esp. since you're at least currently at L-6.

What, specifically, makes you think he will flip anti-town?

avatar
cristigale: However, I don’t agree that Leonard’s wagon will be a bust. If Leonard flips town, I expect we’ll find scum in the speedy wagon.
Oh, I have no doubt there will be some on there regardless, the question is how you find them amidst the bunch of lousy votes. If one assumes a standard setup, the chance of just guessing scum randomly is 21%. In the 2 team setup wyrm proposed the random chance of hitting scum voting purely randomly is 36%. Etc.

I'm not sure a terrible wagon is really a grand improvement on the odds, though sure it may have some marginal benefit.

1) Still don't own a house.
3) Whether or not it's technically crypto-claiming, imo it certainly violates the spirit of the rule.

I do want to win, but don't want this to turn into the same sort of debacle as RW's game.

Lifthrasil: If, however, this was only the usual crazy talk without deeper meaning, then everything is fine.
Well, there is nobody else who can understand what I meant, and I will only refer back to it if it happens. It's a way for me to say "I knew this was going to happen" before it does.

If you feel it violates the rules, I can edit it out. And looks like bler will have to as well.

Tell me via PM what it means and what you want to achieve with it, then I'll decide whether it can stay.

Leonard03: [...] Soooo, it's bad to respond to something you think might be directed at you, but aren't sure. Okay.

[...] snipped for economy [...]

I noticed that too. They were in pretty quick succession too.
dedoporno already covered the first thing pretty well in his post #850. It was the quickness and eagerness with which you jumped in after yogsloth made that comment that caught my eye (I had just gotten back on at the time), and made me point it out. You seem overly preoccupied with catching any fingers pointing to your direction, even when they're not specifically pointing at you.

For a vocal advocate of "Never ever have a No-Lynch", you seem strangely reluctant to get on wagons that secure this, but without raising any objections while they're forming even though you're watching carefully, and end up casting votes that are certain to lead us to No-Lynch, because you won't vote until the deadline approaches, yet it's important to be on record for having voted. Now, why does this look like you're more preoccupied with being on record as voting someone by the end of the Day (which you don't even deny) than actually helping us find and lynch a scum?

Even now you say "Everyday we need to lynch someone, if we don't, we will lose. So by the end of the day I want to have placed a vote".
I find the choice of wording quite interesting - "lynch someone", not lynch the scummiest we can agree upon, just someone, anyone, as if the lynchee's alignment is irrelevant to town's win. I guess that if you're scum, anyone will do though, so long as their not one of your scum-buddies, that is.

On a side note, from what I've read, scum don't go after all townies at every chance they get, there's a strategy in handling the other players, and my limited experience playing the game confirms this. You should take lessons from flubbucket, he's pretty good at this as scum.

Moving on to the rest of your reply. You are watching carefully. Because you don't want your vote to be useless. Yet you need a re-read to see "where your vote is going to end up". But you also are very busy and don't have much time.

So, when exactly are you doing this "watching carefully"? And what does it entail? if you're watching carefully, why do you seem to have nth to say on what's going on? Why does it take you so long to decide who to vote? Or are you watching carefully those that don't ping your scum-dar, so have to do some catching up to make a case against someone to place a vote?
Even now you say "I haven't seen anything that pings my scum meter". For someone watching carefully, that's pretty amazing, to say the least. Perhaps, bler144 was right. It took a lot of pressuring and pushing you to get that "Some people know something", and a related post to Bookwyrm627 out of you.
So, I have to wonder - why and what are you holding back? In the game we were both in, you were more forthcoming, stating your view on things and people. And this is what I meant with "more involved". You don't have to post walls of text, nor post a dozen times a day, but I'd expect you to bring something to the discussion if you're town and watching carefully and looking for slips.

As for your "talking to people" - please go back and re-read your own posts, then tell us what "talking to people" you've actually done that wasn't explaining and defending yourself, and served to find slips, mistakes, etc. Not counting jokes and such.

Something doesn't add up here. I see lots of signs of wanting to appear as helpful town and scum-hunting without actually being.

The one thing I'll give you is that as soon as attention shifted your direction, a good chunk of voting came in, and it needs looking into it.

And we had more developments in the time it took me to put this together. *sigh*
My entire "Account" tab has vanished. I have no Chat.

Can't say I see your reasoning there... surely pushing another wagon looks more like saving my own ass the closer to lynch I am? (I wouldn't count L-6 close, if that is what you actually meant)

Just the same as everyone else really.
He's not been participating particularly, when he has his posts have mainly been defensive and he doesn't seem to have put forward any thoughts or theories of his own.
That vote at the end of day 1 seemed to serve a purpose beyond scum hunting or trying to lynch (can't say I understand what it was yet, distancing from flub maybe? Didn't really work as distancing from P1na if that's what he was attempting... or to try and derail his lynch), which suggests some other kind of agenda.

All in all I'm confident it's a good wagon.

4) DO NOT TRUST THE FLIPS. NONE OF THEM. (Except probably P1na, I think that was legit)
1) Quite probably. To be honest I'm not even sure there are two. I said right from the start the set up suggests four distinct teams. Three scum teams seems a bit much though, so possibly two scum and some kind of neutral (plus town for four)
2) Doubtful. 2 scum teams would need to eliminate each other just as much as they would town. You of all people should know that after your mexican stand off with flub in Vitek's game.
3) No idea.
4) Says the not-a-Coroner-at-all-really-honestly.

So you say not to trust the flips, yet you've been pushing for me (and now Leonard I suppose) all day based on P1na's (which you conveniently state is ok). The more I think about it the more I wonder if this isn't all some elaborate scum plot by you after all.
This thread has lots of tips to find a workaround to get the account tab back.

Thanks to foxy, Vitek, and JMich among others.

Was it replaced with the Sign Up/ Log In buttons? Just open the front page in another tab, and wait for it to load completely. This usually fixes my issues with the nav-bar.
