drealmer7: Didn't refresh to see this. Gold eh? Why exactly is it? You say that it is, but, then, don't give much reason as to why it is. You just say "ooohh, he says more stuff that is bad!" Because????
It is "gold" because it was already stated (and even acknowledged by the mod) that most (if not all) of the USA contingent of players will be busy most/all of Thursday, and possibly for another few days. Hijack is among those in the USA (I acknowledge you may not have been aware of this). It has also been established that a sudden Leonard hammer may allow Yog to reasonably slip out of his promised post-hammer, pre-night explanation, for better or for worse.

BTW: Happy (belated) Thanksgiving, Americans! And because one-up-manship is a time honored tradition in certain parts of this country: Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to all you non-Americans, even though you most likely don't celebrate it, and might not have even been aware of its existence before it came up in this thread.
Today, the meal was stuffed turkey and everyone is so full, that hardly any discussion occurs. Yogsloth and Leonard still stare at each other over the table and throw little remarks at each other: "You're going down, scum!" ... "No, YOU are scum and everyone knows it. I will see you lynched!" ... "Not if I see you lynched first!" ... "Wanna settle this? Come at me!" ... "Nah. Too full." Then they fall silent again.

No vote-count today since nothing changed since the last one.

dedoporno: Oh, there is actually something to read!
And let me tell you how closely I read into every detail so that I could make sure I absorbed every nuance.

I should be near a computer most of today, but not sure how often I'll check.

HijacK: ... but I've never seen 2 wagons tied together at L-1. I'm itching to see what happens when they are...
So I take it you don't find Leonard's behavior over the course of the first two Days voteworthy, then?
avatar
drealmer7: I think the points bler raises are good, but really, if for some reason yogslothdoesn't give it up/isn't lynched himself for not doing so before the day is over, and he is alive tomorrow, I think the pressure will be right back at him anyway. Even stronger so at that point, and he won't be able to "slip away unnoticed as a subject of focus for the group" or whatnot. He's in the spotlight and knows it and won't come out of it I don't think will escape it, nor does he want to, really.
In game 28 I had yogs dead to rights on D3. Night came, Flub zigged in his kill choice (as town arsonist), and CSP (as town watcher) came out of the gates D4 pointing fingers at me & Trent (both town). Yogs massaged everything along and it blew to shit from there.

Even in this game, D2 I would have said that Leonard was the clear D3 choice. And while that's still what will _probably_ happen, it's not guaranteed. And Leonard isn't even trying to wriggle off the hook. Yogs can wiggle.

Stepping back, you seem to imply in one of your earlier posts that adalia was scum (thus making Leonard #3 and Hijack #4), right? How confident are you about adalia not being neutral?

Worst-case, imagine instead what happens if adalia was really anti-town neutral, and Leonard flips town (or neutral). The real reality on the ground tomorrow would then likely be 7 town, 3 scum. All yogs would need is 2 town to NOT favor him and he's lynch-proof. Which is fairly easily achieved by just catering to players that have a stronger preference in their own mind. Like getting Hijack on you, or you on Hijack, etc.

Moreover, here it's really wyrm and I pushing the wagon. Flub is clearly anti-yogs but really not doing anything to move the wagon. Scum-yogs can kill one of wyrm/me and try to spin the other as scummy, and do just enough to assuage cristi/dedo/you.

Now, admittedly, esp. now that it's been said it's WIFOM-bait.

The other thing we probably do need to talk about is Ix. It looks like we're about 20 hours from him being mod-killed. My read on him has been scum, and his fading away reminds me of BlueMooner in RW's game, so personally I don't see a reason to hammer just to reset his timer, but...it's something we should discuss.

yogsloth: So I take it you don't find Leonard's behavior over the course of the first two Days voteworthy, then?
Not to be blunt, but maybe you ate too much. That was mostly a joke, though the temptation did exist.
On a more serious note I could vote either. Both of you are around the same ballpark. Give or take. Alas, I shall entertain you. Are you ready with that grand revelation?
Hijack's on, I'm on, Lift is on...

oooooh, the chills!
Ah! I haven't hammered in a while. Well, it's a one shot risk I'm taking, but I'm hoping everything pays off like in that Self-guru help game. Leonard's alignment needs to be confirmed. Depending on the flip it can go in many directions, and some of them even point at me. Then it's yogy's turn with the 4 page word document. I want to see that.

Vote Leonard
HA!

OK, I've decided not to reveal after all.

Instead, I finally get to do this:

Daykill bler144

Just kidding!

Lift, please give me ten minutes (or someone give me a bump, I have to retrieve the info)

Ha! You got ninja'd!
OK, here it is, as I wrote it a couple of days ago, so the situation is actually changed. This didn't play out the way I thought it would.... so if that's ammo for you to convict me, nothing I can do about it. Here you go:

[pre-post edit] shit, it's too long. Here's part 1 then, need another bump.

______

Hi everybody, I’m your friendly neighborhood Town Jailer.

Yep.

That’s it. That’s all. Not coroner, not flippy detector man, not the owner of the magic bullet belt of knowledge. Plain ol’ Jailer. Surprised? I think the best thing to do would be to walk you through the entire timeline of the game from my perspective, so you can see how it all fit together.

Day 1
The Day starts off as normal, I’m feeling pretty loose, making jokes, not paying terribly close attention. I get in trouble with Bler for this as he votes me for my Rasputin joke at Krypsyn’s expense. As usual, we’re in RVS, not much is happening, and the compulsion for assholery quickly swells to the breaking point. I figure I’ll do what I always do as Town, which is make a fat target out of myself and see who bites.

Note, I will not be doing it again. I probably shouldn’t have done it this time. Even I think it’s now stale and not working right, and I can’t credibly make such a play again, at least not in the short-term.

Nevertheless, my play was legit: As I was typing up this piece of assholery, I had the thought that it was actually pretty funny I was dealt Town Jailer, considering how much time and effort Scum team had put into trying to make that claim believable (what felt like) only moments before in the previous game. We worked hard on getting Town to swallow it, and now I am it. I thought it was awesome.

So I came up with this play, in which I left things wiiiiiiide open, to see who would flip out, who would try and dig up the choices, who would conclude what, who would think it was important, etc.etc. And Wyrm? You missed one. At this time, I had absolutely zero information there would be anything wrong with the flips. No clue. Yes, Coroner was one of the possibilities… but one that I actually thought would be regarded as unlikely as PGO or Neutral Berzerker. Honestly, how often do you see a Coroner?

But with no public knowledge of flip mechanics, someone came to a different conclusion.

Well, that’s odd, I thought. I thought anybody who put the work in would conclude the likeliest possibility was actually “Vanilla”, since that’s what I had claimed myself only a few real-life days earlier. I even tried to help Wyrm by pointing out he missed one, which he should have been able to find fairly easily after all that research on who claimed and when. If not that, then… well, anything on the bottom part of that list should have been more likely than Coroner.

That was stich #1 on the fastball.

Day progresses, I vote flub because of his reactions, and I dunno, maybe it’s a weak case. Can’t really expect any better from him. It’s the best I’ve got, though, and hey – when all else fails, lynching lurkbucket won’t break my heart no matter the result. Then P1na pulls the pin on a grenade and stuffs it down his pants. I jump on at third on that wagon and off it goes. Lynch, Scum nailed.

Night 1
Before P1na’s flip, I’m probably jailing flub. Once he flips, I’m now torn. I spend A LOT of time re-reading. I consider protecting HijacK because of Lift’s vague threats, but ultimately what decides me is that I have no information on HijacK’s alignment… but I’m now pretty damn sure adalia (and Leonard) are tied to P1na. So I use my jailing as a block and lock up adalia. Note that he correctly reported it. More on that later.

Day 2
Now it gets interesting. JMich gets janitored. No flip. Suddenly I’m turning my head back to the Coroner issue… and purely because of wyrm’s post everybody is turning their head to me!

Okay. Let’s think about this. But before we can, BANG, adalia is pressuring me to claim Coroner. I'm all vague and stuff. It seems clear there’s a Coroner out there somewhere, right? It’s not me, but for now, I’m content to let people think I am and see how it plays out. I’m still standing there, putting a target on my own face, to see what shakes loose. Still think I was right here, btw. Flub re-votes me because so much good Town brain think. Just like in previous games, I feel like the answer is right at my fingertips, if I can just suss out how the pieces fit.

And then the magic starts happening.

Sorry I forgot to close a bold tag above. Should still be readable. That's the danger of writing this up by hand in Word.

_____

Read this at 699. It doesn’t look like much, but something about it jolted me. Why “end up Town Vanilla”? Maybe it meant nothing, I dunno, it just… the wording of it was weird to me. And what did that have to do with adalia’s hammer? Weird weird weird. I “oh shitted” but… pretty much just gave my head a shake and went on.

And then, my Tourrette’s kicks in again, and the assholery blurts outagain. Did that “Town Vanilla” means something important to dedo? Would he bite?

He bit. Now read this.

Call that another stitch.

I fob off the reason why I brought up “Town Vanilla”, but man, really gotta think now, eh? I still don’t know what this means. But we now have once case of no flip, and what look like some fat breadcrumbs revolving around “Town Vanilla”, and dedo is clearly expecting something to go wrong having to do with adalia’s hammer vote and the resulting flip.

But I still don’t know anything.

Never stopped me before!

Purely brass balls. Note that the cryptic clue I left was in case something happened; it didn’t. I was totally wrong. After the game ends I’ll tell you all what it stood for.

Somewhere in this time period is some confusing stuff, where certain people are convinced there are two Scum teams, despite significant evidence to the contrary. I don’t even know what to think about this anymore, but it’s tied together with the fore-knowledge some people seemed to have about flips. With so much direct evidence that there was only one Scum team, why were so many people calmly discussing two teams like it was a perfectly reasonable conclusion? (Since then, of course, we still don’t really see any evidence for a 2nd team – so was I just way off on this?)

Leonard claims. Good catch, Ix – I immediately reacted. Ya think there are two Town Jailers? Cuz I don’t. More importantly, because of the exact thought process that I went through when considering to jail HijacK, I knew it wasn’t the best bet for Town – but would make a great play for Scum to buy some Town cred, as I pointed out already. What looked like highly likely Scum due to Day 1 play became cinched for me.

Then a bunch of horsetrading, finally we get my guy first – Mr. Neutral Lyncher with Laser Beams that Fly out of His Ass or whatever, ya know.

And he flips Town Vanilla.

Reading the stitches on the fastball, y’all.

So it’s not me, it never was, but somebody out there knows something. Start with Wyrm, and especially dedo. Ask dedo why he was concerned about the hammer vote. Ask trent as well. Krypsyn too. God help us if JMich was the “real” Coroner, but even without him or HSL, there are too many people here that were talking with an awful lot of confidence about coroners and multiple scum teams without public info to support it. I think at least one is legitimately a good guy.

Night 2
The only Scum I was reasonably sure about was Leonard, and I didn’t think he was likely to make a kill, since he would be jailing/blocking somebody. I also considered trent since he hammered, but if his power is to change flips… I thought he would also be an unlikely killer. I thought about dedo, but if he’s the Coroner, I didn’t want to do that. So, perhaps ironically – and knowing I would eventually take shit for it – I decided that I felt drealmer was Town enough (certainly way down the suspect list) that I would take the chance, and used my power defensively and jailed him, as we still have no clue what Lift keeps threatening. I probably should have taken trent – I think maybe I erred here (no offense, drealmer!) Maybe Wyrm, in hindsight. Note that drealmer apparently didn’t get a PM about it. My speculation is that adalia and HijacK had night actions that got blocked; flub and drealmer didn’t… but speculation is all I’ve got there.

Do note that drealmer himself said something pretty confusing about the whole thing. At first I thought he knew he had been jailed, but was trying to say he didn’t get a PM, which makes zero sense. Upon review, I think he was saying he survived without being jailed… (and even pointed that out, to try and get him to clarify, because it could be important) which I can now tell you wasn’t true, because he was! :)

Day 3
I knew I had to spill it or I would (quite correctly) be a policy lynch. But I needed to wait until after Leonard’s hammer, to see who cast it. I couldn’t lay my cards down before that hammer vote, because it might influence who made that play. Now we see the flip.

If it’s Scum Jailer – We’ll let that stand for itself. You can accuse me of somehow changing it if you like, but then it’s your responsibility to explain to everyone how it makes sense that I could be changing all these flips, and how that makes any kind of balanced game.

If it’s Town Jailer – Then I’ve probably screwed up totally along the way, and expect to be lynched for it.

If it’s Town Vanilla – Then you know the flip is screwed up, and I would look at the hammerer.

If it’s Town any other power role – Then something is really messed up!

I know I don’t have the magic bullet that kills all the Scum in one go. But I think I’ve done a pretty damn fair job of piecing together quite a lot of the picture from very limited information, and I think I’ve done a damn good job of nailing Scum players through normal daily play. I’m not going to make the same tired arrow joke again, but after the game is over – if I’m shown to be correct about all this… yeah, a little acknowledgement would be nice. I can Town pretty good, too. Just sayin’. Sorry if the extent of my reveal leaves you all filled with disappointment.
