WARNING - MAY CONTAIN LARGE QUANTITIES OF SARCASM - HANDLE WITH CARE
RWarehall: It says right in the Crisis Event what the consequences might be, up to death of a crew member. Frankly, I really don't need to see that to confirm it.
JMich: No. I already know a possible failure outcome, and I wouldn't want to see it happen.
dedoporno: I'm most honestly telling you that I would be perfectly happy if I don't find out more details than what I already read in #2 for the rest of the game.
Alright. I'm different. I see 'penalties' and I wonder how severe they are. Is it something like the posting restrictions from last game? Is it a loss of stats as has already happened? Is it a loss of role abilities? I want to know what the consequences might be. Information is Power.
RWarehall: I
just got done reading every post you made this game. While I don't find anything I'd call conclusive, I see a lot I don't like so much. For example, that wasn't the first time you had missed something in the thread and then wondered about something that has been stated.
I forget exactly where, but a couple times I thought to myself, "You should already know the answer to that.":
I get the general feeling you aren't paying all that much attention to the thread. Traditionally, that's a potential scum tell, since "Town" will tend to pay more attention because they have to in order to figure out who is scum.
(emphasis added)
Where have I missed something? I feel like I've been paying a lot of attention to the game. And if you
just finished reading my posts, why can't you remember where it happened?
RWarehall: On top of that, you don't seem to be censoring yourself when it comes to discussing mechanics. You blurt out your ideas with no consideration of whether the topic of your discussion is more helpful to scum or town if revealed.
That in and of itself points toward me being Town. If I was scum, then I presumably wouldn't know the mechanics, so I
couldn't talk about them. And if I did know the mechanics as Scum, then I'm not revealing much, am I?
If one talks about the mechanics and that talk might help scum, then that one is probably Town, no?
Oh, and about not censoring myself? You have no idea. You should see my notes.
dedoporno: Who joins wagons out of boredom?
Krypsyn. Which probably means absolutely zilch...
dedoporno: What I didn't like about that was the fact that you took the time to say that if you are joining Ix's wagon it will be oput of boredom, but that will make you look scummy. This sentence alone makes you look scummy.
So if I had jumped on Ix's wagon using Krypsyn's reasoning, what would have happened? We probably would have lynched Ix, and then when Day 2 rolled around, if he'd flipped Town, I'd be in a tight spot for my sloppy vote. I don't intend to be lynched for sloppy voting (which reminds me,
unvote yogsloth), so I don't get on Ix's wagon out of boredom.
And I said as much.
dedoporno: Who puts more weight on not looking scummy than on collaboration, questioning people, discussing and whatever else is important at the moment?
When exactly was I doing that? The non-act of not joining Ix's wagon discourages collaboration, questioning, and discussion? I don't see it like that.
Alright. Meta meets Anti-meta in the Large Mafia Collider...
...Creating rational thought, hopefully.
I'm Roger Morgan, Station Head of Computing. My alignment is Station Crew (Town)
STR 1
FIN 6
INT 9
Oh, and by the way, I'm your Tracker.
So, since I was stat fishing, it's pretty obvious that my stats are way off what should be expected from a Townie. Go ahead, lynch me because I have a totally different range of stats. I guess that Vitek was right about his 17 FIN. I shouldn't have doubted him.
Maybe I should have claimed STR 15, FIN 18, INT 25. Would that have been about right?
Go ahead and lynch stupid, clumsy, weakling agentcarr16...
Now, let's look at some options for the rest of the poor, misinformed, witch-hunting Town.
1. You lynch me.
Well, you think that your chances of hitting scum are rather better than 25%, since I'm so scummy. I have rather more information and I know that your chances of hitting scum are actually a big fat 0%.
If you lynch me, you'll get immediate gratification (information) on my Town alignment, as well as the satisfaction of having lynched a Town power role on Day 1. Then during Night 1, you'll lose another Townie. Great start, Town.
2. You don't lynch me.
Well, if I'm nightkilled, then you'll still have confirmation of my Town alignment, but you are in a slightly better place, since you presumably lynched someone who was scummy or lurking.
If I'm not nightkilled, then at least on Day 2 I'll have some pertinent information for you before you mislynch me.
And my role is confirmable, if Town really wanted to. An alignment cop or a role cop would confirm it, and it'd be a good use of their power as I'm a power role myself.
Or you could tell me to track someone; then that someone and I could confirm each other.
