*spends some time with the computer systems trying to learn about the station, the crew, and as much as possible the current situation*

I'm still coming to the conclusion that a no-lynch scenario is not a real problem (intruders would like you to think it is, however, and will use all angles and confusing ill-logics they can to convince everyone else that a no-lynch from the get-go is a bad idea. Do not be fooled.)

After my research, I understand the angles of it all now, and, it seems to me there are two REAL reasons to not want a no-lynch.

The first reason is the most obvious. The chances are that we will eliminate a crew member, not an intruder, and that works extremely well to the advantage of the intruders. It essentially gives them a head start. If they can get us to irrationally vote for someone out of fear, then they are already well on their way to taking us over. We have strength in numbers, if we hold off on prematurely lynching someone, we're that much better off. It seems they will push a vote towards anyone they know is not an intruder, just to eliminate a crew member as fast as possible. (this is possibly what is going on with Ixamyakxim, and while they are high on my suspect list, I also have reasons to completely remove them from the suspect list, and with such, am no where near ready to vote for them. It definitely seems like intruders could be pushing for elimination.)

The 2nd reason to make sure we don't go no-lynch is the information we will glean from the person eliminated. While I too desire more information, I don't believe this is the best way to get it, sure, it is the fastest, but, not the most secure or the method to lead us to more likely prevailing during this crisis, this sort of mentality leads down a road of behavior that I'm not sure you can turn back, and ultimately, helps the intruders by having the crew-members do their job for them.

Prior knowledge and experience may actually be hindering some of you from seeing all angles of this crisis.

The information gained by a lynch isn't what the lynched one flips, but the reasons one votes for them. A vote with little to no reason is highly suspect, a vote for the wrong reasons is even more.

I honestly think one day a new player will make a huge slip and everybody will be like: It's coolio. He's just new.
I also meant to say that I don't subscribe to the belief that just because someone is new they are given a free pass on day one. If I think someone is acting in a scummy manner I will vote them new or not.

Magic:The Gathering Salvation
They have fairly large and longlasting mafia community. We here learnt mafia from them because Zchinque who started it here brought it from there. It is the place where I read most of games I read and learnt a lot of things there.
Also few of us played there.

Thanks, I was uncertain, actually. This leads me more down the path of the no-lynch option and more to the mentality of "those who are really against it are more likely intruders." So, who here is ABSOLUTELY against not eliminating someone today? I know a few have spoken out against such, are there others willing to reveal their position? Or are the intruders succeeding in their fear-mongering and we have people remaining quiet but would vote no-lynch if they didn't fear the wagon or a slower accumulation of information (I mean, I assume we will learn SOMEthing after a majority vote of no-lynch, wouldn't we? I feel like Q.U.A.D. will have to give us something more and you wouldn't simply get a repeat scenario of day-1 minus 1-crewmember from the overnight elimination. That does seem pointless and I can understand why you'd just go ahead and vote for elimination to avoid that, but, how likely is that? I think people are just afraid that that might happen, and, again, any behavior out of fear is no good in my book.)

Some moderators will let you twist in the wind for literally weeks until everybody throws up in their shoes just to see who can make the best squishing sounds, just to have something to do. Some mods will sense steam is running out and drop a deadline pretty quickly and give you 48 hours or less.

The problem really isn't the mod - it's the players, who sit asking questions about when the deadline will be instead of doing something to make a deadline superfluous.
Okay, good to know. Also, good point regarding the players needing to get more involved.

Beyond that, I was wondering...how long do rounds usually go before the mod steps in and forces a vote? =)

Yes, much like what is occurring right now. Again, I don't see why it's so controversial for me to point this out. As I'm as good a lynch candidate as any (and better than some because you know scum won't waste a night kill on me) I have no problem with how this is playing out. Aside from my possible early exit LOL - but if it means a brisk pace and a lot of action so be it!

So now anyone who is against a no lynch today is most likely a intruder? I think that would make most everyone here an intruder by that logic.

Why are you pushing for a no lynch so hard?
