Krypsyn: Yes, who knows how much it might impact the over-under?
I love pool, not very good at snooker though so I would not want to take any bets on the over-under :-P
avatar
Krypsyn: @yogsloth Stop that! Right this instant. Stop being so agreeable and reasonable! It only makes you seem guiltier...
What I meant to say was, KILL KILLL KILL KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT NAO!!!!

No no no, that's adaliabooks that says that ;-)

You mean that we may have an impostor?! Heavens! I bet adaliabooks is a ringer for Snooker, or something! The tournament will be ruined!
Love.
A new player question - How long does a day usually run without resolution before the mod steps in and forces a vote?
I was not sure what to make of Ixamyakxim's post #125, and the vote that concluded it; he ignored my request for clarification/reasoning,after all. What I read in his posts #308 and #311 supposedly answer my question, but I actually find his reasoning quite alarming.

- We need to pile on someone, so, just pick someone, anyone, and push for their lynch? Because no-one screams scum? This reminds me of adaliabooks in the last game - he used RNG to cast a vote when RVS was over, and threw everyone in, even though he was slightly concerned about some of the players. And guess what, RNG conveniently picked his scum-buddy CSPVG, whom he later unvoted due to popular demand, as he claimed, and never voted for again.
- D1 lynches are the result of random votes and scum jumping in? Apparently town is capable of nth more than RVS style votes on D1, and the only ones using their brains are scum. And since he's casting random votes, he surely must be town, right?

And I agree with dedoporno (post #314) on his tendency to cast votes with no reasoning until/unless being called out.

Is he town? If he is he's very careless/indifferent at best, and acting on the anti-town side at worse. But it seems a bit more scummy than this to me. So, until, and if, anything changes:

It depends on the moderator, but ti is generally around 2 weeks in recent memory.

CarrionCrow: A new player question - How long does a day usually run without resolution before the mod steps in and forces a vote?
Depends on the mod.

Some moderators will let you twist in the wind for literally weeks until everybody throws up in their shoes just to see who can make the best squishing sounds, just to have something to do. Some mods will sense steam is running out and drop a deadline pretty quickly and give you 48 hours or less.

The problem really isn't the mod - it's the players, who sit asking questions about when the deadline will be instead of doing something to make a deadline superfluous.

CarrionCrow: A new player question - How long does a day usually run without resolution before the mod steps in and forces a vote?
Varies per mod so hard to say. Day one is the longest day of the game usually, it can drag on for awhile if people start to lose interest. That's why it's very annoying, to me, when people don't vote or really try and participate until a deadline is given.

CarrionCrow: A new player question - How long does a day usually run without resolution before the mod steps in and forces a vote?
It varies.

We were at stage when it could take up to month but recewntly we mostly managed to cut it diwn and ie. in G29 it was 9 days.
"An update to the votecount, you say? I really must get some sort of subroutine to do this automatically. Or at least some scripts to run."

Vote Count

Ixamyakxim: 5 (flubbucket, yogsloth, Vitek, trentonlf, HypersomniacLive)
RWarehall: 1 (Ixamyakxim)
HypersomniacLive: 1 (agentcarr16)
yogsloth: 1 (Krypsyn)

Not voting: Crewdroog, mchack, RWarehall, HijacK, CarrionCrow, JMich, drealmer7, dedoporno.
Closest to lynch is Ixamyakxim at L-4.

(Again, I think that's everyone - back to getting that script.) :)

trentonlf: ... Day one is the longest day of the game usually, ...
MTGS way of playing always intrigued and amused me. They were able to have D1 longer than 1 months, maybe even 2, with close to (or even more than) 1000 posts. Then all the following Days often lasted only days and all together were shorter than D1 on its own with only dozens of posts.

HijacK: [...]

Omg. Drealmurica has a better way of insulting people than Hyper... Not sure what to make of this.

HypersomniacLive: Looks like HijacK got some serious competition.
Hmmmm. I may have to up my game. Last game yogy-doodle-doo took the spotlight and you came in hardcore. Now this dude is wrecking people left and right and here I am yet to make one insult.

yogsloth: there are at least two players I believe are playing distinctly against their meta
I had a funny response for this, but didn't know whether you'd get offended or not so I dropped it.

avatar
yogsloth: I want no part of new players first Day
Omg, this blows my mind! Why are people cutting so much slack? Smh.
I honestly think one day a new player will make a huge slip and everybody will be like: It's coolio. He's just new.

avatar
RWarehall: Does anyone else get the feeling that stats may have some actual in game effect this time?
I was thinking about this as well, but I am not really sure how the system around them works. This will definitely a topic of discussion in the following day or so.

avatar
RWarehall: [Note: I have Trentonlf's blessing for this question]
How much did you bribe him?

avatar
CarrionCrow: Thinking that they do. Figuring there will be scripted events that pop up in the overall narrative that require certain stats being high to complete.
I was actually thinking something along those lines, but then I started debating whether such a thing is too different and radical for a forum mafia game. The possibilities of how such events may impact the game are rather limitless.

You missed Hyper's vote.

Heaven's sake. What is wrong with these people? Do they really enjoy being tortured like that? That shit's weirder than the dominatrix stuff dude's with mommy issues do.
