agentcarr16: Ahhh to heck with it. I'm bored of roleplay.
Oh thank god.
Okay, first some notes and caveats for this series of posts.
-First and Foremost: This is going to be an info dump. If you don't want to read multiple walls of text, then just skip this whole series of posts by me, and look for something short saying something like "Alright, I think I'm done".
-For most of this, I'm going to ignore my role while writing. So if you see me referring to Vanilla, Cop, Doctor, Vig, Bomb, Flying Pumpkin, Station Head of Make-Shit-Up, etc., then read meaning into it at your own peril. As stated previously, I'm not going to name my role on Day 3, and I think such action is town oriented.
-For time reasons, I'm not going to fact check myself as much as I usually do, or go looking things up. This means I'm running mostly off memory, so there may be mistakes (ex. for awhile, I was thinking Adalia followed me onto Ix's wagon, and I was going to call him out on it. I pulled that when I fact checked). I'm not going to provide a lot of links or quotes. I'm probably going to do less pre-post proofing as well.
-I'm kind of irked right now; I'll get into some of why later. Due to this and time, I'm probably going to come off as less charitable than I might otherwise try to be. Please try not to take it too personally.
-Placing my vote in Yog's hands like this is something of a gamble, but I think it is a worthwhile one. Even if he's got me fooled, I think he's earned it with his contributions to town today. If it weren't for his work and his plea for some help here, I'd write town off with a "Sucks to your assmar" as I go to relax in the dead thread.
-One of the things that is irking me is that so many players seem to be just sitting and watching Day 3 go by. I'd be less annoyed if there hadn't been so much talk against No Lynch or complaints about how things are boring/nothing is happening. The biggest offenders in my mind are Flub, CarrionCrow, Vitek, and JMich. I don't remember mchack or Hijack doing much today either. Most of what I've seen from Vitek has been responding to drealmer's obsession. In fairness to JMich, he actually has been somewhat involved, if not as involved as I personally might like. That is nearly half of the players in the game. The entire scum team could be sitting out the day, and we'd STILL have townies doing the same.
-Yes, some of my thoughts could be labeled OMGUS. Deal with it.
-There may be some repetition of ideas as I'm dumping data.
-If the child lays hands on the keyboard, I might not catch all the inserted characters. Sorry about that.

yogsloth: lol, could be, could be!

Why are you voting for him, by the way? Since you haven't put the slightest effort into it. Or anything, really.
First response, and it's defensive. Interesting.

FTFY. JPEGs are static images, so you want the animated gif one.

And I actually realized it the instant I hit post.

I very briefly had a carrion-link moment where, for just a second, I considered editing it.
Wow... why does all the exciting stuff always happen when I'm at work or asleep?

I'm with trent. I don't think town can afford to take on another crisis event.
The chances of failing naturally seem pretty damn high, if we failed the last one based on stats then the next one will probably need averages of 7 - 8, and there might be more players required to.
I don't even think it will be possible to succeed, never mind the chance of scum sabotaging. We think a double fail means a town death, what happens with a triple or a quadruple?
Unlike Bookwyrm and Agent I really don't want to find out.

I also find RWarehall ridiculously suspicious, but see absolutely no way he could be scum. Possibly a neutral, but that seems unlikely too.

And I'm not moving my vote. Bookwyrm has done nothing to reduce my suspicions of him, and a hell of a lot to make them worse.
I'm sorry, but knowing that our flips are reduced not claiming a role is in no way pro town. Blatantly refusing to do so is the behaviour of scum on the ropes with no safe claim.

If I wasn't already on his wagon I'd be voting him.

The difficulty will increase. The game is two parts mafia to one part RPG. RPG's don't usually get easier as you go along.
Eventually we'll get squeezed until no one can fill the spots needed to win. The failures will keep stacking up.
Figuring the cost of failure can range from temporary stat loss, permanent stat loss, loss of role abilities either temporarily or permanently if the affected player or players have them, or at least one crisis team member death if not more.
Game setup:
-I think there is only one scum team, and I think there is at most one neutral. I wouldn't be surprised by zero neutrals.
-I think there are 3 or 4 scum. I'm mostly assuming 4 right now as straight 25% of the total 16 player start.
-I think town is a combination of meatbags (probably human?) and droids. I think the scum team is composed of meatbags (likely human, maybe alien) and droid(s).
-I suspect crisis events will tend to be triggered around halfway through each Day, starting around the third or fourth day. I think they are meant to be something interesting that happens during the day (especially when things usually start to drag), and they are meant to be both a risk and a source of information for town. I think they could big a big asset in helping us pin the scum team, but we are going to have to work for it or the crises are going to help bury us.
-I think there are some interesting powers scattered amongst the players in this game. I look forward to seeing the setup after the game is over. There are also some standard powers sprinkled in as well. Don't get complacent.

-I think the PM comparison thing that Krypsyn started on Day 1 was a load of crap. Even as an observer with no PM at all, I was ready to vote for him the second I realized why he voted.
Let me tell you a little story. Setting: later days in Yog's LotR game. A lot of the easier townies have been picked off, so choices are becoming slimmer and harder. It was coming down to figuring out how to break either JMich or Bler. JMich seemed the more vulnerable target, and then I noticed something about him (or maybe it was Bler?). His role claim format didn't match mine, nor some of the recent town ones. An opening! So I start doing some thread research to back up my planned accusation, checking how everyone has claimed. To my disappointment, I found that townies don't always follow the "standard" PM format when claiming.

Fast forward back to this game: Quad says specifically that mchack is indeed the Generator Technician (whatever that means), and that PM format/specific wording is not indicative of alignment. And yet, so many people continued to talk about how one person or another is going to get a pass because of it. *facepalm*
Mind if I keep pace with running commentary on your commentary?

After Day 1, I was convinced there were two Scum teams. I think that's pretty unlikely now, though. I still think it's likely there's a Neutral or possibly two.

Agreed. But obvious.

Agreed. But also obvious and non-committal.

I'm not yet ready to believe the crisis events will "bury" us, as the first failure generated a penalty that is essentially beneath notice. But yes, they are certainly a key to Town victory, if we have the collective stones to analyze them. Which it looks like we don't.

Agreed, but not very meaningful.

Agreed. As I've been part of two games that were largely ruined with this shit (#24 and #26), I will never participate in this "what's the 2nd word in the 3rd line" bullshit. But what does that have to do with what's happening right now?

Waiting for part 2.
Cooking dinner, then need to eat an put toddler to bed. Going to be an hour or so.

Adalia: have you considered that I might know something about my role that you do not?

Of course you do. I know nothing about your role, though I can guess.
I still think withholding it is anti town.

Let's just try a little guessing game.
Vitek, CSPVG.
Close?

I actually have no idea what you are guessing here, so...maybe?
