Perhaps it is roleplaying, to a certain extent, and I'm not claiming that their incomprehensible to me. However, in my first game, I remember that I was a little overwhelmed with all the lingo that flies around in here, and I wasn't even participating, just reading. However you never rephrased, or re-asked, simply kept pointing him back at your original post.

Why exactly would the 'issue' he's referring to be that the players are eager to lynch for PM differences? That's perfectly normal in Forum Mafia and it's not a mod problem. HSL, I'm sorry that I phrased that the way I did, about your life not being a good excuse. Yes, I'm still in school, and I am busy pretty much all the time, to the point of catching up on this thread while walking between classes, but I have to remind myself that others don't have the same priorities that I do.
For me, this game is a relaxation and a way to get away from life, like you said, so I make time to play. If you can't, then I can understand that, I just need to remind myself.
I do hope that whatever it is turns out well.

I don't see any useful purpose on trying to put words into my mouth so I'll assume I'm just doing a bad job in explaining what I meant. Let my try again.

I said I won't vote for you on just a gut feeling before the deadline hits. When the time comes I would vote for you to secure a lynch. In #1161 I said that I feel better not for voting for you earlier (as in earlier than originally stated). Does that make sense now?

Now this kind of drives things to a place that I don't really like being in. I actually thought about how to word things before placing the vote and considered asking Quad officially whether or not you are being replaced. Then it occurred to me that this is a dickish question because it suggests that I doubt your replacement request and in extension your reasoning for it. Even though I've seen real life problems being used as a way to fight off pressure and/or excuse lurking (in some cases it worked quite well) I am nowhere near being that big of a dick to even consider this as a play rather than taking it at face value.

So, everything after that (at least from my side of things) was based on the fact that we have pretty much nothing, I feel your game is off, it seems other feel the same way so there might be something there, you are looking for a replacement, which will only complicate things if we are to go through with working on your "character" and deadline is in a couple of days.

Yes, I read it, and whether a bad or not move, it was his to decide and make. PM differences seem to be a common reason to point fingers and lynch, and there may be a mismatch in PM formats, that may or may not be intentional. But that still doesn't explain why the OP Role Example is what it is, and no-one's given me a satisfactory explanation to that. Did he also miss/fail to format that properly? Seems that the mod did a piss-poor job for the time it took him to get the game started, if that's what you're saying. But if it's not and he didn't, then what does the difference between some PMs and the OP Role Example mean?


A friendly advice - what you need to remind yourself to better word your statements as to not insinuate that one would use their life as an excuse.

If you read my paragraph carefully you'll see that I stated I refuse to take your real life stuff for anything other than what it is and have based everything on that being true and you seeking replacement. My conscience is clean. You might want to check yours though, considering you practically tried to make it look like I calling you on you RL issues. This is not nice, to say the least.

Again, everyone, I am really sorry my flavorings caused confusion. I wasn't baiting and fishing, I was playing/adding flavor, not realizing that it wasn't good for the game and that it just causes confusion. I've since stopped all behavior/flavorings that can be misunderstood as to my intention, I hope. That is why I didn't answer it/called it irrelevant, because it didn't actually pertain to the meat of the game, it was just flavoring fluff that was confusing and I tried to drop it, not realizing that not addressing it was also an issue.

I understand that it can make me look suspicious to do this/be suspicious to do this, and it is not what I was trying to do. I simply didn't realize it at the time all the implications (yes, great excuse for me if I'm an intruder, but I'm not, just a newbie who played the game a bit wrong at the beginning.)

"Fidgeting nervously" and "uncomfortable with the attention" were things I "played" with, because when someone does those things, it normally draws suspicion (which he knew, which is why he did it, because he was having fun, and I understood that and meant to have fun with it too.) I was playing with the flavor he provided and put him in my suspicion list accordingly even though I didn't actually find him suspicious. I mixed the "playing" with the "serious deducing" and confused everyone else. I tried to correct that as soon as I noticed it was happening and I'm very sorry for the confusion.

That is why I blatantly said "he's not" suspicious when re-asked why I thought he was. I hoped that would clear it all up. Again, sorry.

Anything else I can do to alleviate the confusion, please, let me know. I totally understand all of that being not-cool, and that it possibly draws me into higher suspicion, and I just have to deal with that at this point and hope you all can believe me that I just messed up with how I was playing. Of course I also have to contend with scum using all of this to their advantage and getting the rest of town against me thinking I'm devious or whatever else. Whatever. WIFOM WIFOY WIFOM at this point. So use your best judgement is all I can say.

HSL, I think I answered all of your questions, if I didn't, please just ask me again. If you don't ask me again and instead are focused on "well I asked you here and you dodged here and you're playing a game and why can't you answer me and on and on", it really just seems like you're trying to be antagonistic and muddle everything rather than figure things out. Just ask me what you want to know if I didn't address it well enough/at all.

With all of this, HSL is certainly still not in my top 4 of likely suspects (more like number 7 or 8?) and I do not wish to eliminate him simply because of the replacement issue or misunderstandings we've had, it's simply not strong enough at all.

So, anyone else think this A.I. is intentionally experimenting on us like rats in a box, just watchign and waiting for it to get tense enough that we start to eat each other?
