Anyway, for starters I want to reiterate on what _I_ think quad tried to say, because there seems to be some confusion. I gather that some of you wanted to mislynch me for the way (wording, formating something) I claimed. All quad said was that, this is not a good reason to lynch anyone since the wording, formating etc in the player pms is _not_ the same for all players. If you want to lynch me for other reasons, then go ahead, but just not for the wording of my claim "Peter Santiago (Generator Technician)", because that's copy pasted from my pm.
So it would be unfair to lynch me for it and say I only made it up from the OP, just because it's differently formatted, worded from what some of you may have in your pm.

Unlike others I make a point about not lying on anything from my pm ;P

If people still don't get it, we were voting mchack because of his claimed job.
Agent and I (and the rest of voting him I presume - but you can't know any of that for sure) have word "Station" in front of our occupations.
Like Station Head of Computing or Station Clown or presumably Station Generator Technician.
As mchack claimed he doesn't have it there I assumed he is false claiming.

All right, I'm in a bit more stable a frame of mind now, so let me speak directly in an attempt to restore balance.

Everyone, regardless of alignment, has a name and rank.

A number of the ranks start with the word "Station". Not all of them do. Again, this does not indicate alignment.


I'll get to vote counts and editing punishments in a bit - my confidence in my modding ability is still a bit shaken after seeing this issue appear. (Should have given it another day for a re-read...)

Maybe a bit. I feel like the mod shouldn't be intervening like this regardless of the actual alignment of mchack. With the risk of being jumped on for this, we as a group should be responsible for our mistakes if we make them. If mchack is really Town Quad just saved him and in this way gave us a lead and screwed over the scum. If he's scum it's the other way around. I believe this information should have been kept secret so we deal with the consequences of our own actions or be made public in the OP to prevent such situations altogether.

Anyway, this is mostly a matter or principal in my eyes, maybe Quad has a very good reason for this, but I still think it shouldn't have happened like this.

I assume that if the rank does have Station in front, then the rank is definitely Station Crew (Town)? Or is that now an invalid assumption?

It is difficult to take you seriously, Ms. Rand, when you wear that outfit. No, no, don't stop wearing it ... it may force me to have a scene wherein I am putting my shoes back on (heavens!).

(Seriously, I miss the miniskirts and lycra from 60s/70s sci-fi sometimes... :P)

I hope this goes unanswered. I am just assuming, for the moment, that it has zero bearing on alignment. Anything else we can figure out by legitimate scum-hunting.

At this point I would not make any assumptions.

I am glad that this is not going to be a game based on PMs, but I am not a fan of the mod interfering. I would rather have had the scenario play out and if mchack is town everyone could have learned a lesson in that basing a vote on PMs is not way to go or if he is scum maybe people would have learned to not divulge PM info. By the mod interfering it gives mchack a free pass for today if he is scum because no one will want to vote him now because the mod spoke up on his behalf, and if he's town then scum got the short end of the stick because now there's a greater chance scum will be lynched.
