BlueMooner: So I'll throw this to the group. Do you want me to stop?
I'm the kind of person that says "please" and "thank you" all the time. However, if people think I'm trying to brownnose, or butter everyone up, then say so and I'll stop.
Well, you addressed a question to me, yet you attributed the reaction of the whole group as justification for reacting to a positive answer.
In any case. It's your first game, so now at least you know that this is also a mechanic that can be used in the game. Whether you continue doing what you do or not is up to you.
BlueMooner: Yes, I think it's suspicious.
That's just you.
BlueMooner: Agent was dissecting Yog's posts and looking at factors like him starting all his posts with "So", and his capitalization
mistake. I've spent too many years online and seen too many typos to even begin to think that's some sort of super secret coded message on Yog's part. However as Flub pointed out, it's a different story to miss a name altogether, especially when he explained he was making a list of players and grouping them based on suspicion, and MOST especially after claiming to be cop.
Typos, capitalization, the excessive use of a word and what not, in my experience none of these ever led to catching scum. I think that's a next level nitpicking. As for missing a name, shouldn't you be more vehement of questioning him? So far I barely see you and him interact. Since when do you solve for x and when question is about y?
BlueMooner: His "oopsy" explanation does not sit well with me.
Then how come you're doing nada about it and this is the first time you mention this after all this RL time since that post came to be?
BlueMooner: While I don't care about typos, I do care about missing names and it does make me wonder if Yog was "saying" something by not including you. Now it's possible that you didn't think it was a big deal and just thought Yog messed up, but I don't know that that's actually the case... I'm not you. I have the slightest sense that you didn't say anything because maybe you didn't want to draw attention to yourself, hoping everyone would overlook it. Which to me, is suspicious. Why hide, unless you're hiding something.
Oh my god. GG WP. MVP award stuff right here./endsarcasm I like how you think everybody is brutally honest about everything they know and I'm the only one *scary music with a pause*
hiding something. Sounds like an 80's detective movie.
Do I really have to explain again why not everyone can share everything they know on day 1?
BlueMooner: Isn't it called scumhunting? Why are you defensive about roles, when I never asked about them?
Nah, it's called info fishing, and smells like role fishing to me. If "What are you hiding?" is scum hunting to you, then this game has turned into a B rated Dolph Lundgren movie where he always saves the day.
BlueMooner: I didn't argue for a no-lynch, I ASKED about it, since I'm still learning game theory.
You also explained why you are considering it. When you ask a question, you don't usually also engage in an argument by detailing the benefits you think are there for such an action. You ask a question, then argument if need be. You study Socrates long enough and you begin to see patterns in people's behavior that are meant to shift stance.
BlueMooner: On a personal note, I got the sense that my posts upset you. Your responses seemed irritated with me.
It's a game. Just sit back and enjoy. As Sage has noted, reactions can be faked. As I will tell you, the probability of reading someone's feelings through text is pretty low. And your read may be attributed to the fact that I'm dissecting your posts, as opposed to the early day 1 responses of usually 1 sentence.
BlueMooner: I don't know why, since I thought it was clear from the context and tone of my post that I was 1) being playful, and 2) trying to stir the pot to get players more actively engaged and initiate some banter. Didn't you yourself comment on that?
Read above.
BlueMooner: I care about people's feelings, which is partly why I try to be nice to everybody. You don't seem to be that type. Normally I'd apologize here if I had accidentally upset you, but since you think I'm kissing-up to people, I won't.
Touche. But not in the least surprised. Especially since I don't even think you know about the argument of last game.
BlueMooner: It also occurs to me that IF you were trying to stay under the radar and not mention yourself because you're mafia, and then someone questioned you on it, a strong response might be a common tactic to try to fend me off, thinking I'll back down. The fact that you jumped IMMEDIATELY to a vote on me, simply for throwing out wild statements at people which were MEANT to be provocative but not serious (Hyper and CS didn't so much as blink), seems defensive and suspicious. Suspicious enough to vote.
Vote Hijack And people wonder why I never really cut slack to new players.
flubbucket: Try not to take HijacK's commentary personal.
Ikr?
RWarehall: Well if you mean AgentCarr16 fingering or attempting to finger Adaliabooks
