Lot's of stuff happening, so first of about myself:
here's to hoping an alignment cop will back me up some day. I assure you people, I am town indeed and therefore it seems my post wasn't clever at all :( (And yes I'm aware I mustn't lie as town so I don't) ... oh boy, I'm already thinking about if this is again a stupid thing to post before hitting the post button, but I can't see it. Scum already knows I'm town and telling town/neutrals about it can't be that bad? of course noone will believe it until someone confirms it, but here's to hoping it's noted anyway...

since you now think that wasn't it. I'm quite intrigued to know what "it" was, exactly? I don't get the reference at all and only think of a card game joker that can essentially be any card it wants to. Is there such a thing in mafia?


That made me look at the wiki again, looking up policy lynch and all of those roles. Holy crap I should've done that earlier :/ But two things struck me: Follow the Cop is something why someone could be claiming cop that early, but seeing as it's impossible to do nowadays because of strongmen and sanity impaired roles (The op pm with the former god role implicates, the roles might be somehow impaired, right?) it's not fitting yog's play who I bet knows the wiki by heart

Problem is that I can totally imagine myself going oopsy.

And usually Doctors can't target the same player on two consecutive nights.

Follow the cop is a very risky strategy to go for, scum almost always have some kind of doctor foil (be it strongman or roleblocker or whatever) so putting himself out there as the only target N1 (so far anyway) in the hopes he will be protected doesn't seem likely. Plus there's the chance the Doctor wouldn't be able to protect him two nights (which seems, quite rightly, to be the standard in the games here now) in a row, so even if he survived tonight he might die tomorrow night.

That being said... I don't think yog's knows the wiki quite that well, as he did think a Ninja was a commuter in Vitek's game...
And there is the fact that last time yog's was a cop he claimed day 1... admittedly then he actually had a useful read to share, something which he seems to be lacking this time, so maybe he just feels claiming cop day 1 is a really really good thing to do?

Whatever he's doing, I think he's going to need to start talking more, because there are holes in his play so far (he never answered my question about why he referred to trent as scum, and he left HijacK off his reads list) that combined with his odd claim and somewhat unusual quietness (where are the walls of text?) might just get him lynched, and if he is what he says he is that is going to be bad for us.

The main issue isn't that you said you're Town, but the role claimed. When I said it wasn't cool I meant that your Town Vanilla claim (if real) basically told scum that you aren't a decent NK pick. They're primarily gunning for power roles that can expose them or tamper with their schemes. One of the stronger abilities of the Town Vanilla (if not the strongest) is to take the NK thus potentially saving a power role for one more night. Giving this away negates the benefit.

I think I already covered the scum scenario to some extent.

So exactly who did I ask over and over and over again to tell me what they thought yog's was doing? All I've done is point out that whatever he's doing is not beneficial to town and whatever plan other people were seeing I was not.

Now yog's has said "I admit my entire theory on the Day was not to isolate an individual Scum, but rather to start sorting players into piles of likelihood. Fractal painting, perhaps.", and if that's what he was doing by role claiming straight out of the gate it's a very weak play IMO.

Here's why I don't like the play

1. If he's truly Town role cop, scum will either kill or block him and his role is wasted. If scum are able to hit a power role on N1 it makes the game much easier for them.
2. There is a good chance he's actually a scum role cop and wants to use this as cover to hunt for other roles at night but just say during the day he was blocked.
3. Once roles are being discussed it leads to people talking about roles and possibly revealing if they have a power role too (intentional or not), and the only people that benefits on Day 1 is scum.
4. This is a lone wolf play, and the only way town is gong to win is if they work together.

So good intentions or not what yog's did was a risky play that benefits scum more than town.

Same as any other claim. See who argues for, who argues against, and make a decision based on available data. Or hope there are roles willing to investigate yog, should he make it to the night.

Where did the "role cop" come from? I thought yog claimed town cop, not town role cop.

Not sure that we actually share any information, I'd say it's more like we each have a corner piece of the puzzle, and recognize it as such. Nothing says we ain't all mistaken though.

Yes, there are a lot of walls of text, just not as many from you as I'd expect.
Some of us are born to provoke walls of text, some of us are born to write them. You (and I) are most definitely the latter.

Nah, I did my interesting shit last game, I'm sure as hell not putting my neck on the line like that again when I was 100% correct about what would happen.

As for useful to me... I'd give you about a 5 / 10. Reactions haven't been particularly enlightening one way or the other, as far as game starting ploys go I prefer mine or Bookwyrms, although on the plus side you might actually survive yours, but we'll probably gain less info from it... so score that however you will.

Anyway.... am I voting for anyone? I don't think I am.... That's not good form, ain't gonna lynch no one that way.
