First - some meta notes:

I do want to reiterate that I'm having plenty of fun and am not attempting to express any negativity. The flavor of a game is more than just the verbiage in the OP - it's the style of modding, the way the game is expressed, the way it all comes together... and so far, so good. Thumbs up from me and I hope everyone is enjoying themselves like I am.

Second - some random notes:

@HSL - sorry to hear about your back. As someone who has thrown his back out twice in the last nine months, I empathize.

@HijacK - more channeling Cleve Blakemore, please.

Would also like to see more contributions from the usual gang of "veteran" players, but you know, can't have everything.

Third - back to the game:

I am neither lying, nor kidding, nor Scum. I am also not trying to get lynched - quite the opposite. I'd like to continue playing as long as possible.

I do have a plan, but of course, it's incomplete and highly dependent on what happens next. I'm being quite flexible.

And, of course, it's always possible it blows up in my face and gets me killed or worse.

But... are you not entertained? Are you not entertained?
Am I entertained? No, I dislike role claiming day 1 because I can not think of any good reason to do so. The only time it was beneficial was when you were a role cop in flub's game with a N0 action and was able to identify a serial killer. At this point if you are telling the truth all you've done is alerted the scum to a power role and possibly taken it out of towns hand if you are killed during the night. Yeah, great move.

Well, it wasn't meant for you in particular. It was more a general feeling of the game. I dislike the round and round of discussing roles and set-ups that occurs on Day 1 in just about every game, since I believe it usually gives up more information to scum than town gains at such an early stage. So, perhaps it does apply directly to you, in fact, given some of your other comments.

I'd just like to point out that if you were lying or scum then of course you would say that.

And if you are saying you are genuinely claiming Town Cop then you are both stupid and most likely dead.
But I'm interested to see where this is going, colour me intrigued for now.

You never know. You may get a bad OS joke. Unless you do something that cannot be ignored (for example, let it slip that you are scum) players in general will go fairly easy on you the first day or so.

I’m definitely intrigued as well.

My take on yogs: originally I thought he was joking, just fishing for a reaction. That obviously is not the case.

If he is telling the truth then either he,
1. Is making a huge gamble
2. Knows something that the rest of us don’t

Either way, scum must be wondering what his angle is as well.

If he is lying, then I agree with your earlier assessment that it is unlikely he is a mafia cop. RWarehall was not fond of the role reversals, I’d be surprised to see them in this game.

I don’t know whether yogs is lying or telling the truth. If he's telling the truth, I'm curious to see where this goes.

Originally, I found Lift’s vote on yog suspicious. Could be scum jumping on an easy target. But I’m reminded that in the past several games, scum needed to do little on day one, just sit back and watch town lynch themselves. Net effect, raised an eyebrow, little more.
