Not gonna lie, I thought about making a similar thread a couple months ago, where the first page was like 80% various "games". But then again, I realized the futility of asking for any new forum functionality and just dropped the idea.

I have no problem with the games themselves, but there is absolutely one negative impact, which is new thread visibility. Due to the sheer amount of forum game threads, other threads get pushed from the first page much sooner, meaning most people might miss them completely.

People lose interest in discussing things when they see low effort troll posts; so they go to forum games instead.

People would take you more seriously if you stopped shit-posting and trolling.
I want to hide forum-games too, but at least that's "official" shitposting.

If they can piss off a troll, they're useful for something :D

I'm not sure what I think of them. I mean, I don't participate in any of them, so I'd rather not see them. On the other hand, they have more intrinsic value than the multitudinous spam threads from the user who must not be named.

Oh, well. I mean it is a time to have fun with others during a pandemic. Gotta live life to the fullest I guess.

"Forum games" are just another label for spam. They should therefore be forbidden under GOG's spam policy.

GOG outright deletes spam posts that are made by bots right off of this board.

So why do they not delete "forum games" spam also, which is also & equally spam to the same extent? The fact that they don't is a double standard.

An option to "hide them" isn't good enough, because then the viewers will still be victims of the "forum games" spam any time they come to the forum whilst they are not logged in.

The only good & real solution is for GOG to simply forbid "forum games" spam just like they forbid other kinds of spam.

Or failing that, at the bare minimum, then GOG should make a new forum called "Spam posts" where bots, "forum games" spammers, and all other kinds of spammers can go there to post their spam with free reign, whilst leaving their spam of this board, which is supposed to be intended for discussion.

imo people who are against forum games should be banned, they're obviously killjoys who want to ruin other people's harmless fun.

Question 1: Why not just mark the forums you visit often as favorite?

Question 2: As for not seeing new forum posts, why not just skim through the first 5 pages and see which ones are the most recent?

That's a great idea Ancient-Red-Dragon, Gog should implement a category in forums with games, questions, and a discussions tab.
