And this set of pictures has our new cat Moises (translation for "Moses"), a roughly 7-month old male cat who was living in a farm with about 10 more rescued cats.
The farm owners cared for the cats but couldn't offer them healthcare. They lived too far from the city to take any of them to a vet, for example. Not to mention how much it would cost in vaccines.

He is a very gentle and affectionate cat who was the youngest and weakest of the bunch, so all the others ate before he did. He was a bit malnourished and had an ugly rash in both ears. Thus we were given him, brought him back with us and now after 3 weeks he's fully healthy and lives comfortably.

I think he was the weakest because it looks like you have an exceedingly rare male calico. They are always the result of a genetic disorder where they have an extra X chromosomes (thus are XXY) and tend to sterile, but I would still have them neutered if he hasn't been already.

PookaMustard: I couldn't rub my two brain cells hard enough to figure out that it wasn't the letters, but the words that held them. By the time we figured it out (I wonder why), the mystery was no longer there and you got lynched anyway, but not before getting a bunch of people who thought you weren't it (me included - as a pretend Townie).
Well at least it was being somewhat difficult this time. Other times I crumbed a role other players found it to be too obvious. If my role had been townie aligned things might have faired better. Ah well maybe next time.

Lifthrasil: So, who will run the next game?
I would, but having to shift accounts so much would mess things up.

mchack: huh, and I haven't even gotten to my re-read yet.
Well, I think the lesson for me is: I'm no good at reading people and should trust no one in a game of mafia. ever.

Just glad I wasn't also voting flocke in the end :P (not that I didn't want to ;) At least one townie mis-lynch in this game were I was not on the wagon :)

So Congrats, pooka, joppo and trent for a well deserved victory!

But still, damnit trent, even now I can't believe you were scum :) I think I never got more than one scum right in my reads. My best guess was right at the start of day 3 #269 having both joppo and pooka leaning scum (not that I wasn't convinced otherwise by pooka shortly thereafter) and in that post I even elected trent.

So all in all: Not a good performance from me by any metric, but I think it's the first mafia game I played were I stayed in game right up until the end (got lynched or killed every other game, afair) even if it was a flawless defeat. So that's a first.

Anyway, I had fun. Thanks everyone for the good time, and thank you lift for hosting the game :D
Trusting no one in a game of Mafia is a must, doubly so with experienced players that can blend their scumgame as well as Trent does.
You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You can say you did not do so well in the game but I believe that the fact you haven't played for years is a significant factor. You don't know most players' meta, and even those you do know you're bound to misremember.
Besides, with Catventurer's illness and Scene's disappearance you guys were incredibly unlucky. They were spotting small scumminess threads with me and Pooka that the rest of Town could eventually pull. In the end, I don't think a townie me would have fared much better than you did.

You're bound to play better in the next game... if it doesn't take too long to set up and start :)

Catventurer: I think he was the weakest because it looks like you have an exceedingly rare male calico. They are always the result of a genetic disorder where they have an extra X chromosomes (thus are XXY) and tend to sterile, but I would still have them neutered if he hasn't been already.
Maybe? I don't know many calicos to speak from experience but I think it more likely that he is not one. I think he was the weakest simply because he's too docile to fight, he was always beaten up (he has scars in both sides of the neck to prove it) and was younger so the other cats just didn't leave too much food available for him. Now that he spent three weeks with ample food available I can notice his strength is up and he is more active and playful.

Anyway, in a few weeks we'll bring him to a more specialized vet that will definitely be able to tell whether he's a calico or not. We're surely going to neuter him although I feel a bit sad to do so because he's so docile the world could do with his genes being passed to the next generation, but I can't have a non-neutered male "marking his territory" all over my house and getting desperate to go outside breed.

You should all have elected Catventurer, to enforce the Catican! That was a charming idea!

That's alright. I'm playing Godhood at the moment where the Ailurophiles (my worshipers) believe that The Divine Cat (me) is the deity that brings them the truth and that truth carries the name of Felinism (my religion.) I've also encouraged my followers to outright worship cats, so now there's cats wandering about among my followers.

This is just so much better than having a Catican.

joppo: Thank you everyone. She was one of the loveliest cats I ever saw, and she was special because my wife never had a cat and used to have a bit of discomfort with the idea of us taking one in. But after we adopted her my wife started loving the cutie thing and realized how wonderful pets they can be.
Now we are sad she's gone but we'll try to focus on the love we exchanged and all the happy memories we made during these 14 months.

Her name was Mocinha, which translates to something like "Little Lady".

Here are some pictures of her. In another post I'll show our newest companion/family member.
Sorry about your loss. :( Thanks for the pics.
