yogsloth: I actually did play a game like this years ago where mafia had to maneuver one of their own to be the Day vote, and it was an impossible disaster. "Reverse mafia" was the name of the experiment. This is what it looked like. Just a whole bunch of people voting for no real reason, and it was like... yep, here are the scums lol.
So yeah.
Trent is a baddie, 100%.
PookaMustard: Well, I'm not gonna do like mchack and insta-vote you for picking Trent out of the blue. But you see, I'm not exactly well-versed with whatever shenanigans happen over on MU (and on a re-read you don't even mention this "experiment" was on MU), so I'd like you to, like, clarify more. Bestow us some of your long experience and insight, or just convince me.
You can re-create that experiment if need be, but please, give us more to work with, man.
So he's made a few more posts and gave his point of view. me and trent and probably bucktooth as scum. I know that's not right. But has he convinced you?
He's now at L-1 with all town on his wagon only you are missing. If I'm correct at thinking flocke and joppo as his scumbuddies and they aren't bussing him, then it's either you hammer him or we go to no-lynch and the accuser chooses.
Or we pick some other target that is not scum then I'm sure it's way easier to get to lynch :/
----
mchack: Really? So no more reason not to elect trent then? now that you seem to think him town after all...
yogsloth: lol c'mon man, this is the wolfiest post that ever lived
Look how hard he's campaigning for trent to be pope
Think about this Town, how 100% rock solid convinced are you that *anyone* else is Town?
You're not as sure as mchack is about trent, are ya?
How is that the wolfiest post that ever lived? earnestly? Flocke said she would elect, but just not trent, because in some other game he was scum. now she said she believes you and trent are town on town, so naturally there isn't a reason to split the elect vote anymore, is there?
How I can be so convinced of Trent? By the way you, flocke and joppo are arguing against electing him. And by reading what he contributed to the game. Reads fine. you? not so much.
----
yogsloth: As I've already explained, I eventually figured out that Town can't actually win this way. If we elect a Town pope, it's an automatic loss for Mafia... ergo, they can't be pressure, bribed, or bullied into it. It's an automatic loss, so it can never happen. However... if we elect a Mafia pope, it's just as quickly automatically over and Mafia win instantly regardless of parity.
ergo, any concentrated, organized push by multiple people to elect one person as Pope must therefore be Mafia action.
Cat's pretending not to know this. I keep waffling on her, eh?
And my good friend, you are awfully complacent about accepting these votes for Pope. You're pretending not to realize this either.
I mean, I don't know, maybe I'm just a jackass.
But... I thiiiiiiink I'm seeing this one right.
So you are saying trent doesn't know his own alignment? That he should be seeing, by getting elect votes, that he must therefore be scum, no other way that can happen? weird.
Let's pretend that I'm right and I'm just some townie thinking trent is another townie (you know, just like scumreading a person and voting them, you can also townread and elect them) so I cast an elect vote. Then for some reason another person I townread also casts a vote on that same person because they townread them also (maybe because we are reading the same gamethread here?). And then a third person throws in the elect vote, because they are someone that likes being on any wagon with the most votes ;P
And that's it. That is the Position we are at at the moment.
3 votes from town plus a self elect.
And now the fun starts. I think oh man this is a great way to out scum. Let's see who doesn't elect trent and find out that way who is scum. huzzah.
And what do you know, three players (exactly three persons? how can that be?), are hellbent on not letting that happen. They even go so far as to make the person that got the election votes, for nothing else than looking townie, out as the kingpin scum that needs to be eliminated.
I say the election mechanic worked perfectly. And that you outed yourself as scum. Now as Flocke said herself it is very hard to lynch scum now, since all town need to pile up on one person, but since you are at L-1 maybe the last town out there not on your wagon will want to see for themselves.
We are not on LyLo and I will gladly take the fall next, if you actually are not scum. But I'm sure I won't have to, because the way you played now, you made perfectly clear that you are Scummy MacScumface.
