I may be losing my love thing for catventurer

trentonlf: So now all of a sudden we have a wagon going, we have a chance to gather some info on another wagon, and poof it all falls apart. It's almost like we want to just hand the game over for scum to win. Sadly Cat is right, the consensus from most seems like Fark is clear for some reason I don't fathom. I just hope this doesn't bite us in the ass because it's not like we have a ton of time left before the Day ends.
Well, as much as I don't like how Fark went about his business, I still have the conviction that it came from a place of being Catholic than, well, a cleverly calculated scumplay.

I'd be voting for scene, but his absence might as well make the vote be a nothingburger vote.

There's yogsloth and Joppo and they all seem a bit too quiet for me, but it's not like I'm helping things either. mchack seems genuinely Town to me, bucktooth... oh shit he's flying under my radar, of course. Catventurer gives off the vibe of not just Catholic Town but Epic Catholic Town (and we're both sick so I can relate), trent is... well he's faring much better than A Future Pilot for sure, I haven't picked up anything off either.

So really, it all comes down to scene? I'm not really a big fan of voting anyone else, though, at least not at the moment.

hmmm one post caught my eye

joppo: Speaking of that other player, after palying with him several times I noticed changes in his writing patterns whenever he draws scum. I can't see that pattern anywhere. I'm almost certain you're pushing a townie's wagon, however justified it might seem to you.
Can you please elaborate more on this? And is it something that Catventurer is sure to pick up on?
Again a period with a bit of talk but a lot of staring and no new accusations. Let alone an election attempt.

The Election and Vote counts didn't change. So there's no point in reposting them here.

Deadline is tomorrow evening.
No life sign from supplementscene, but a 'maybe' replacement. I'll wait for the decision of the potential replacement player. If they can play, I'll be happy. If they decide not to, I'll have to remove Cardinal Down from the game.

Sure hoping cardinal down does not become cardinal falling down. Though that might make for a decent film title.
I'm starting to think the apathy is going to kill this game. Been a busy weekend for me, but I expected more than 7 posts to have happened since I was last here a little over a day ago., and three of those posts were from Farky who was just trying to get himself voted out a couple of days ago.

I mean everyone is aware that a no lynch is really just giving scum a free lynch right? I also apologize for using lynch and vote all the time if that is throwing anyone off, my brain doesn't like using investigate in place of vote, and making someone virtually a stump is really just a fancy lynch.

yogsloth: ...
You ever played a game like this before? Is it like this because there's actually no night phase or is it something else?
This game is so boring....
Were getting close to the deadline and I would like to avoid a nolynch

Vote fark

Like I said I feel like their self vote pointed more to that of a frustrated townie, but at this point I feel this is the only wagon that could gain enough traction before the deadline.

this is exactly why I'm staying on Fark. As long as there's nobody else coming forward trying to be investigated, I still think we should push this wagon. Worst outcome is having confirmed Fark as catholic and him hopefully still staying active and helping us find scum. Best outcome we have one scum less to worry about and can maybe learn something by looking back at who did what during this day. Day 2 has been all about Farky and ending the day without any conclusive information and just letting scum pick who to stumpify would leave the day completely wasted.
Say the day ends and scum just investigate someone of their choosing. How do we continue from there. Just keep staring silently at each other until the next investigation chosen by scum?

Not picking any player to vote for is scummy in this game. it helps us nothing. We still have about around 15 hours to get a wagon rolling. It's either the majority of us who decide who to investigate or scum decides. Simple as that. And we learn nothing from the latter, they could just roll a dice in their scumchat. And they have no incentive to have us lynch anyone. Why would they get their hands dirty, when they can just lay back und decide in the scumchat who to stumpify?

You just made my scumlist. Willing to vote only for the one player that we know will either be modkilled or replaced in the next few hours?

Vote fark

yes. ok, you get town points from me for that. Scum wouldn't need to do that. Scum could just lean back and enjoy the end of day.
Oh. We're actually going to try to investigate someone..... maybe?

VOTE Fark

Some of you really need to step up and participate more, not just hide behind other people.
The lack of participation in this game is putting me to sleep over here.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Well I act with my gut, and my gut tells me Fark is Catholic and not some Reformer thinking ahead of the curve. In a normal game of Mafia, to hell with voting Farky if I'm honest, being on a wagon that I have strong conviction it belongs to a Townie is just rewarding scum.

But, you just made me realize. This is not a normal game of Mafia, and it hasn't been, but I still insist on playing it like a normal one (and I'm even failing at that). Worst that could happen is Farky loses the vote and the ability to be elected, but he can stick around and help us scumhunt should he really turn up Town. And if he turns up scum, well, I'd have to tip my hat to him cause I was this close not to vote him out.

Well, so be it. I hate it, I feel like we're handing scum the game, but I think we'll agree that if he's Town, it's not voting out Farky that delights them already.

investigate Farky
And that's a hammer.

I'll write a wrap up as soon as possible.

And I have good news: Flockeschnee steps in for supplementscene! The modkill was avoided in the last minute!
Again, everything happens very suddenly. One moment there is idle discussion, then suddenly Cardinal South finds himself the target of an investigation. All his belongings are seized and searched. Personal notes, books, phone, everything. And what a find this is. Again, the investigators are shocked to their moral core (if they have any)!

First: Fark South was a devout Catholic. And he has slips of post its, letter paper and writing utensils. Seems he was fond of messaging people. But secondly, his personal diary reveals, that he was envious of about everyone. His motivation to become Pope was just, that someone else was Pope before him and he wanted what that bugger had! Cardinal South is the epitome of Envy - one of the deadly sins. And as such, he is absolutely not electable and not to be trusted with votes!

Fark was a Catholic Messenger (Town PR), and his voting and electing rights are withdrawn. He may (and is expected to) continue to participate in the game, but cannot use his power anymore and can't be elected.

All votes are reset to zero
All elections are reset to self-electing
Final vote count

Bucktooth 1 - Fark 241
Mchack 1 - yogs 224
Fark 5 - Trent 192, mchack 211, bucktooth 262, cat 264, pooka 265
ah, there we go again. Sorry Farky :( I really hope you keep playing and help us find out who's the scum out there. I felt you might be town, but I stayed extremely suspicious to the end, and if we hadn't confirmed your alignment yesterday, it would just be a wagon building on you today again. At least now we know you were town all along (which is what many suspected, and at least three people aside from yourself actually knew. So some of those being so sure you were town that they didn't want to investigate you, could well be scum. Who literally knew you were town and didn't want to get their hands dirty.). Hope you're not too frustrated. I pledge here and now, that should I be the next town mislynch, I'll continue playing and try and not take it personally, since I asked that of two others by now, that I pushed a wagon on.

Let's see how this confirmation of you as town leaves me in my thoughts about the player base.

-Cat and Trent are as townie as they come for me by now.
But I'd like to know what Cat thinks about the prankster thing now.
avatar
Catventurer: @ Prankster - I think you're Team Catholics and if you're telling me what I think you're telling me.....

[i]Cardinal Justice is distracted by all the cats.
now that we know the messenger is/was town are you still thinking that the prankster is town aswell? What do you think they were telling you?

-Bucktooth is leaning town, but I'd really like to hear about his re-read of the thread and evaluation of the other players, since he said he'd need to do that, because he mostly skimmed the last day.

-Yogs is also still leaning town, but his participation has been less than optimal as with most. At least he tried to start a wagon on me, when he thought farky was town and not do nothing. But I don't feel he's pushing as hard as he usually is.

-Joppo is rather neutral for me, but I'd like to know what you meant by that:
avatar
joppo: The rest of your post however I tend to agree with... except for one tiny detail. You see, Fark does remind me of someone we played several games with. Yes, you did too. It is like we were playing with that very same person right now, you get it? And when he played, stuff like what you have against Fark would hold less weight than you're giving it.
Speaking of that other player, after palying with him several times I noticed changes in his writing patterns whenever he draws scum. I can't see that pattern anywhere. I'm almost certain you're pushing a townie's wagon, however justified it might seem to you.
So you were just saying Farky is town by analyzing his writing pattern or are you implying there's another player in this game you suspect is town? Please use simple words so even I can get it.

-Pooka is leaning scum from for me, but that hammer isn't something I hold against them. As I said scum would gain even more from a no-lynch than a mis-lynch (as in they can choose who and not have to answer questions later about it). But if the wagon was going to come to a conclusion anyway, I don't see why scum need to stay away. Argh, playing mafia is complicated.

-Flockeschnee(replacing Scene) Welcome to the game :) Please tell us what you think is going on and who you think should be investigated and why?

So I know there's three Scum lurking in this list but I'm not at all sure who they are. But in before I get a Info instead of Analysis vote again and because not voting is scummy in this game:

vote Joppo

first, you haven't been voting this entire second day. Sure you ask questions, but aren't you interested in lynching scum?
Second, if you were so sure that Farky is town, then why not push for a farky for pope election campaign. With so many here so sure Farky being town, yesterday, we could have gotten an easy town win right there. Was it because you knew that Farky was town and electing him would end the game with scum losing?
I'm not at all sure you're scum but there has to be 3 scum in the 7 players that I don't know the alignment of. So chances are good that you actually are scum. Just fess up.

----

Also I'd like to start using the election mechanic. And since my most townread person by now is Trent, I'm just going to elect him for popedom.

elect Trentonlf
Just real quick, before I try to put my thoughts into words:
Oh, random investigation choice would mean it could hit a Reformer. Well, question would be, if it’s worth hoping for that. We are at 5/3 already, not so bad odds, but we’d have to find the accuser first. And assuming we find him right away, that would be 5/2, so not so good odds after all.
