Hey all! Thank you for pointing out the issue with DOOM 3 serial keys. We apologize for this and the inconvenience that it might have caused. As pointed out - we're working on it and the new keys should arrive any day now. Where we can, we'll also remove the game from the places where we are advertising it until the situation is resolved (so that fewer people will run into the issue). We'll also add a notice about it to the game page.

Once again, our apologies for this situation, and thank you for staying vigilant.

This is a great opportunity to remind GOG that they are selling Doom 3 without the actual key to play it. (serial keys depleted) Unfortunately for this game the key is required even for single player mode. I've told GOG about the issue at least a week ago and it has been known for even longer.

GOG is selling an unplayable game right now - this is nothing they should take lightly and therefore it should be fixed ASAP!

They are TRYING to fix it while not just still SELLING but now also ADVERTIZING for it. I don't think that this is in any way ethically okay ... imo it's also legally not okay to sell unplayable games - but maybe that's just me.

This should be top priority and they should not continue to sell it UNTIL this has been fixed!

Quake 3 keys are also affected

It looks like this is a problem with Bethesda games. Maybe Quake 4 is also affected.

Another warning: Don't buy "The Mansion" if you want to have a complete game. It is 99,99% sure that this game is completely abandoned and the publisher only says that they have no plans to update it any time soon. Why should they, they already have the money. I'd call this a scam and GOG should either sue them or throw this game out.
No discount for the original Dark Forces?
Pretty good selection overall, was hoping it might include some new retro releases like the Castlevania collections but oh well.

I honestly don't quite recall what I did to play the game because I never had a serial key either. Hmmmmm.... That'll bug me now. Wouldn't surprise me if I found a duplicate key online somewhere. It's not like it matters for singleplayer. *shrug*

As far as I can tell it's not just a GOG issue since there aren't any official keys for Steam owners either.

I suppose using the dhewm3 source port should be able to provide a way around that. Does that actually support the expansion?

Wrong, It DOES require the key for single player - that's the real problem here.
IF a key that is required to even PLAY the game is NOT included the game should not be sold or at the very least contain a BIG warning on the product page.

Imo it is ridiculous how GOG can stay that calm and continue to sell an unplayable game - and no, they can NOT expect from the paying customer to use a mod.

There hasn't been one in a long time... rather, they've gone up in price over the past few years. Really, it's quite disheartening.
