Pheace: oo, GOG connect is in the bar above the footer thing at least. Last time I looked a week ago or so I personally had no clue how to discover that feature if it was't a sale promotion, I didn't see it there at least
It was there before this.

Someone has too much time on their hands.

GOG PLEASE STOP!

Please stop throwing around GOG Galaxy logos and hints everywhere on the site as if it is god's given gift to earth. It's not! It's a client, it's far from being perfect and it MIGHT be useful for some and useless to others. You promised that it's completely optional and I for one am believing you to stay true to your word here. However it's annoying that you constantly push your precious Galaxy logo in our face so that we probably will dream about it one day. Yes, it is still optional but showing this logo everywhere will make people hate GOG Galaxy instead of accepting or trying it. If you advertize something too much you won't reach your goal that many will try it you might as well achieve the opposite in the end. Sometimes less is more. Please think about this.

I already contacted Barefoot_Monkey in the thread. But still it can't be the solution to disable everything via script that GOG throws at us. It would be better if GOG would implement things in their site that are nice to look at and/or useful.

GOG puts a lot of work into developing Galaxy. It's not unreasonable for them to want people to actually use it.
At this point It's a miracle the giant TRY GALAXY button doesn't automaticaly appear in every post we make.

Did you not read the last sentence in my post? They won't achive what they want by advertizing GOG Galaxy in this extreme. Same goes for every advertizing.

Actually, I found one of them under my bed last night and one of my guests complained that they found one in their sink.

In our society an app is much more marketable than a website. In terms of PR, marketing, advertising, social networks etc. it is much easier to identify a service with an app rather than a website (or a "store"). GOG is probably trying to go that way, putting "GOG.com" and "GOG Galaxy" on the same level. I mean, a lot of people are used to that (for them Netflix is an app/client that you can download, like Steam or Spotify, not a website or a store) and GOG wants to cater to those people too. I'm sure that in the future we'll see much more of that. That doesn't mean that Galaxy will be mandatory (like the client of Spotify is not required to use Spotify).

As I said, I believe them when they say that Galaxy will stay optional. But I don't believe in the kind of advertizing they do. Just think about watching TV and every 10 minutes or so during the commercial break you will see an advertizement for a certain product. You will see this advertizemend in EVERY commercial. It's clear that you won't forget this product anymore but I really doubt that after so much advertizement for the same product it wouzld make you curious to try this product. As I said - there's a certain dosage of advertizement that is helpful after this you might get the opposite.

Maybe if they put some of that "hard work" into making a Linux version, I would care. Maybe. Never enough to want giant galaxy buttons everywhere in the UI, but maybe at least they wouldn't piss me off so much. It is unreasonable for them to want me to actually use it.

Yeah, "Post my message" is probably going to install Galaxy soon.

But don't worry. I'm sure they will implement a "Post the message in legacy mode" option that can be activated by double right-clicking, and when you then confirm that you understand that it will only post the message and not enable any great Galaxy related features, you can use the forum like you always have before.

Is this for real or have i been trolled? For profit company pays for development, advertises one their own site, ignores a niche market (for the time being, who know sin the future), and its unreasonable for them to do so?

In case it was for real... You guys act like GOG is Google or something and they are this giant oligopoly pushing their unwanted devices upon you! They are missing more than just a few extra letters guys. GOG doesnt push the international narrative, they are just a two bit company trying to make some dough.

Its mind numbing you guys have this idea about all their evil designs to secretly own the client market and insert DRM into your dreams. Fetch me my tinfoil hat!
