Absolutely fascinating.
Looks like somebody never bothered to actually look up these usernames or the posts associated with them.

theslitherydeee: I'm talking about stuff like Erythritol, Lactitol, Neotame, etc. Things you wouldn't recognize as food when grocery shopping.
What about the scourge of dihydrogenmonoxide? It's in practically all food. It's lethal in large enough doses. It should certainly be banned...
With his behavior, I wouldn't allow him into your giveaway even if he has more posts than anyone. I would advise anyone to do the same.
The one that I watch for is natural lavors.

It's a pretty vague term. After all, poop has a "natural flavor" ; and I don't think many people would go for some feces-flavoring in their food (although they are likely getting some anyways - just in too small of quantities to have to list - just like bug parts).

I like to buy 100% OJ, grapefruit and apple juices. They're easy to find. But many other type of juices contain the magical "natural flavors". I avoid those. I'd like to know a bit more specifically about those flavors..

Less natural flavors and more precise info please..

zeogold: What's so hilarious is that, out of all things, he criticizes me for the quality of the games in it. Games that are being given away for free, no less. At least I got a laugh out of it.

amrit9037: real mustard oil
avatar
zeogold: MUSTARD oil? Doesn't that throw the taste out of whack?
Mustard oil is pretty big in Indian/Pakistani/Bengali cooking. Try it some time (you can get it from your local Indian market). BTW, pay no attention to the warning on the label "not for human consumption". It's perfectly safe. :)

Oh, sure, that'd be fine if Amrit was from India/Pakistan/Bengal, but he's from "Other", which makes me even more cautious about edible things he offers me.
Food labeling? So now we're racist foodistsfor calling fruit fruit instead of vegetables? What, I'm an asshole for calling a banana by its genetic name rather than recognizing it for the being the tomato that it is on the inside? No. Food labeling is just fine. Some things should be off limits.

You people have ruined my brain with all your silly chatter. Thanks a lot, jerks.

btw, how is the food quality in finland and is good food luxus for a lower income family in your country?

Depends what you mean by quality.

Food is generally safe here due to high regulation, ie. you are less likely to get a food poisoning from a restaurant or stuff you bought fresh from a store (unless you mishandle it yourself somehow), or buy children's formula (milk) that poisons your kid (like has happened a few times in China, if news are to be believed?).

If, however, by quality you mean how much different kinds of exotic fruits and vegetables you can get here year around (for a price that normal people are willing to pay) etc., then no. It always makes me laugh when I see some supermarket here selling e.g. rambutan (a fruit), they have already turned brown ie. not fresh anymore, yet they are very expensive, unlike when you buy them in Thailand.

When visiting a supermarket in Thailand, I feel they usually have lots more different kinds of fresh and tasty things to buy there than a normal supermarket in Finland. In late winter you may have really look for an apple that is not already decomposing in a Finnish supermarket.

Generally poor people don't have to starve here, unless they choose to use their social benefit money on booze, instead of food. Priorities, priorities.

i would define quality the following way:

1. for water, fruits, vegetables and bread/corn:

how much is it infested with unhealthy, unnatural and chemical stuff like pesticides. genetical manipulation and other.

2. for meat:

how was the animal raised, free on a farm or stuffed in a cage. was it fatten. was good quality food used to feed the animal. you would not believe with what stuff some animals get fatten (human bones, shredded lab rats and worse).

I know what you mean. It's that the word chemical regarding food can easily lead to confusion.
I'ma leave this here: https://xkcd.com/641/

Human bones?!?!? Are they that easy to come by; meaning it's cheaper to use human bones rather than any other crap they usually feed?
