I actually came here for Fallout 1, but, strangely enough, didn't buy it until nine months later. I found this site after a Google search for Fallout 1, because I was looking for games that my laptop could run and I had heard good things about it. However, when I got here I realized that they had all these old games that I used to play when I was younger. I decided to buy the first Desperados instead, which is then my first game here on this site.

Nymes: For me, it was Baldur's Gate 1.
I had this game as a child, but couldn't get my head around it. Many years later, I had a sudden itch to try it once more and asked a friend if he knew where to get it, preferably working out of the box. He referred me here.
It was the last two hours of the Summer Sale back then... I got both Baldur's Gate titles, Dungeon Keeper 2 and The Settlers 2 Gold Edition. I was really happy back then :D
Did you manage to get into Baldur's Gate the second time you tried it? I am asking, because I am in kind of the same situation. I tried it many years ago, but never really got into it. Now I am thinking of trying it again...

Back then, I didn't manage to get into it ;-) I got slightly farther than usual, but lost interest. Only when it was assigned to me in the Gentleman's Backlog Club I really played through it, although with a big break in-between due to time restraints. In enjoyed it more than I expected it to and plan to play the second part in the future. Just give it a try :-)
I signed up during the Beta when they were offering 2 for 1

I got SHOGO and with that I also got Lioneheart.

Then i thought, hey, will i get again 2 for one if i buy one more game?

the answer was no. but i still had fun with Sacrifice.
The classic Fallout - the reason I joined GOG.

Jonni: The classic Fallout - the reason I joined GOG.
Same here.

I'd heard of the Fallout games before, but didn't really get around to getting a PC to play them until Fallout 3 came out and got me interested in them. Came across a mention of gog and how they had the Fallout games DRM-free in a gaming forum and decided to check this gog place out. The rest is history as they say.
I purchased Rayman 2, Rayman 3 and Worms Forts Under Siege all at the same time during a sale for my first purchase.

Ever since then, the library has expanded...thank you GOG for being amazing haha :P
Back in September 2008 - Freespace 2 (and Giant: Citizen Kabuto as the free game to go with it - was a special offer during the invitation only phase, before GOG went public)
After what was a non-gaming decade for me, I got an itch to play something like Heroes of Might & Magic and discovered Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. Browsing the web for physical copy brought me to GOG.

I bought it with intention to play custom games, and soon after discovered that outside of pre-built scenarios AI isn't capable of generating higher tier units, which also made the purchase the greatest miss in years since my return to gaming.
Master of Orion 2! I still play that game, by the way. Just a fantastic balance between simple and interesting. I won't deny there's probably a nostalgia factor there.
took a peek and apparently it was Oddworld abes exodus and Painkiller. which was weird as i havent played either one. didnt really get started with gog until witcher 2 purchase a long while later and from then on i was hooked.
I joined GOG because I wanted to try the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Editions with the SOD expansion, but when I finally signed in, a big sale ended and I couldn't afford the whole series anymore as planned, lol. As I had the original games in CD, and there was no rush to play them, I got instead Titan Quest (which I'd never played before, but I'd been looking forward to it for years) and Kingdom Rush. Those were the first two games I got in GOG, followed shortly by the Kyrandia series. :)
Lords Of The Realm 1 and 2.I was having problems getting them to run on a modern computer back in 2009.

GR00T: What brought me here was the idea of DRM-free games. My first purchase here was Freespace 2.
Sounds like alot of folks came here for Freespace 2. Im planning on doing an article on quintessential PC games of the 90s on my blog. Check it out, subscride if you like it. And thanks for all the comments!
