What brought me here was the idea of DRM-free games. My first purchase here was Freespace 2.
The reason I came here was so I could show my loyalty to the one true great leader of everything in the universe and assist in his eliminating the Son of Jor-El.

Or is that why I came to Zod? Shit, I keep getting them confused.

Which one wears all black?
April 11, 2009. Arx Fatalis and Stonekeep.

Unfortunately I ended up abandoning both in mid-playthrough.
Desperados Wanted Dead or Alive ;).Was looking for this gem.It wasn't on Steam, but GOG had it with Atari being the publisher back then.Good times.Cheers
Unreal Tournament 2004 ECE
It was this inexplicable urge to play Thief 1 that brought me here. I had never seen past the early catacombs, that is stage 3 or 4. So came here, bought all 3 games. Completed Thief 1 shortly after, but actually went back for Thief 2 only years later, it is in progress atm.
I'm a big fan of Descent. I got D2 on disk years ago, love it and wanted to see what was so different about D3. One day a GOG sale was pointed out to me - I bought D3+Merc that day.
I came here in December 2013, during Fallout Classic series giveaway. I suppose it was Winter Sale here, but I wasn't interested in anything else back then and also didn't bought anything for the next few years.

I had at least 10y break in gaming and now I started to play again when I realized that:
a) a lot of games are available for Linux (including new releases of AAA titles)
b) there is a lot of classics easily available here - both games I remember from being a kid and games I've missed then.
Blood. I knew about GOG since 2008, but rarely checked up on it. It wasn't until sometime in 2010 when I came back here and saw they sold Blood that I immediately signed up and bought it.

The first thing I bought here was Battle Isle Platinum, one of my fav strategy series (especially History Line was a great refreshing scenario) :)
Freespace 1+2, which were part of the original pitch when the "coming soon" website first showed up... great games and hard to come by at the time, so insta-buy for me the moment the gates were opened
Freespace 2. First purchased game on gog.com. First use of digital distribution. First operation with card in the internet.
My first purchases:
Age of Wonders
Might and Magic 1-8
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2

But the main reason to come here was Age of Wonders
For me it was Duke Nukem 3D. I read an article on a site saying that some site called GOG was giving Duke away for free. So I created an account, and got Duke. Took a look around the store and Shadow Warrior was on sale at the time along with Blood, so ended up getting them. And so i've been buying games here ever since.
For me, it was Baldur's Gate 1.
I had this game as a child, but couldn't get my head around it. Many years later, I had a sudden itch to try it once more and asked a friend if he knew where to get it, preferably working out of the box. He referred me here.
It was the last two hours of the Summer Sale back then... I got both Baldur's Gate titles, Dungeon Keeper 2 and The Settlers 2 Gold Edition. I was really happy back then :D
