In defense of Teaser Trailers... these are things that you watch in the theater with no idea of what's being teased. The reveal is when the audience goes... oh cool, they're making a new BLARG!

In our modern internet era, the very purpose of the Teaser Trailer is IMMEDIATELY SPOILED by knowing THE TITLE of the movie you are watching a teaser for! It defeats the entire purpose!

Breja: Okay, seriously- tell me that the trailer for Rebels season 4 isn't way better.
Hell, the Battlefront 2 trailer is better as well.

Hunter65536: Heard this conversation somewhere before, is it some parody?
Does anyone recall?

Rei (to Luke): Are you my father? (Tfa one not the Eva one)
Luke: No, you're my father
Well. There's always the chance his meaning is that she have the same personality characteristics as Vader. *Shrugs*

Tarm: Well. There's always the chance his meaning is that she have the same personality characteristics as Vader. *Shrugs*
Ah thought maybe midichlorians would be brought in to show she is Vader reincarnated, then that emo kid would probably join her side

Reincarnation? Please no. I like my characters not being immortal thank you. :/

POSSIBLE SPOILERS (MOST LIKELY BULLSHIT)

There actually is this crazy rumor about a script leak, and her being Anakin reincarnated, or rather the "chosen one" reincarnated and there having been houndreds of chosen ones before, every time the universe is approaching some great upheaval.

They can't be stupid enough to consider that.
That would rank right up there with the assholes who decided to make Highlander 2 about aliens. We all know how well that went.

My personal favorite new theory is that Rey is a Palpatine.

Honestly, I don't think it would be that bad. The idea of a "chosen one" being a manifestation of the force, a sort of defence mechanism of the universe. I mean, I hate the very idea of Anakin being a "chosen one" to begin with. In the original trilogy he was just a powerful Jedi who went bad, not corrupt Space Jesus. But if we are rolling with the prequels and the whole chosen one born of a virgin bullshit, then this to me sounds like it might actually make the whole chosen one thing a bit less pointless. A scene with hundreds of force ghosts of Jedi from ages long past could be something interesting, at least it's truly new.

Star Wars had it's Highlander 2 already. Three times. So it's not like they can do much more damage to it in my eyes, and I'd much rather see something a bit crazy but new, than another super safe remake.

And Snoke is Tarkin.

The prequels weren't good but there are levels of bad. In terms of messes the prequels were a badly clogged toilet while Highlander 2 was a train full of toxic waste derailing and falling into the water supply. :P

Ha, finally found the source of my knowledge. Thanks Breja!

True, but at least it was a) only one movie, b) they actually tried to fix with reeditions (didn't work, but at least they acknowledged it sucked) and c) it's still far more entertaining than any of the star wars prequels. It's great for a laugh and Lambert and Connery are still great.

I'd much rather Episode VIII turn out to be a pants on head crazy disaster, then something as mediocre and bland as Force Awakens.
When Kylo Ren took off his helmet I knew why he killed Solo
"You are not my Father. This is not the nose of any son of yours. This is the nose of the Great Hogwarts Wizard Severus Snape. And for your lies I smite thy down"

How the hell did that nose get inside the helmet? Most non threatening bad guy I've seen, only to be beaten by the Mincing Darth Vader from Rogue One.

NOOOOOOO!
As I've said before Just No to that cycle bullshit. It will make all the actions of every character there are completely meaningless because everything is just part of a non stoppable cycle that will go on and on and on.....
Could have just robots enacting a play. It'll be the same thing.

Edit: Why not go full retard with the script and steal the ending of the Highlander saga. Have her make a force baby and then everything will work out forever and ever....

Huh? Is that in some special edition I didn't see?

There is no talk of a "cycle", just that in times of great upheaval the force manifests a "chosen one". What happens to that chosen one is a very different matter, and can apparently go many ways. And the people around him/her are not part of any cycle of reincarnation whatsoever. There's nothing about predestination here.

Also- I don't know if this is relevant, but in Star Wars Rebels season 3, when Obi-Wan finally kills Maul on Tatooine, dying Maul asks Kenobi (about Luke) "is it the chosen one?" and Kenobi answers "yes", and I don't think there was ever before any talk of Luke being that.
