Oh yeah, it sucked not getting those two... but again, the fascination with the series after 0 launched is encouraging. I dunno if we'd somehow get Kenzan or Ishin down the road in response to that, but the series is in a waaaay better place than it was up until now.

But how were the sales? Do you have a number? I remember Yakuza 3 sold something like 120k or 150k in the first few months and things were still rocky after that. I know it's hard to tell what with digital sales and all, but did Sega say anything?

Still, if we get it, great. I was around for Yakuza 2 which sold something like 30k copies. I suppose after that I should count myself lucky for any localizations at all.

I never paid for DRMed games and never will.

Finally some worthy successors to DMC 3 on PC. I am happy.

Partially agree -- it's a great thing to have former console exclusives available on PC at all, regardless of the distribution platform. That said, I'd still be much more likely to buy a copy if it's fully DRM-free. Not a matter of "DRM is bad mmmkay", but mostly for entirely practical reasons, because I strongly prefer GOGs distribution methods to the alternatives such as Steam.

Whenever I see mention of Yakuza, I always remember the story of the series, where the creator had to spend a long time trying to sell the idea to SEGA at a time where everything coming out HAD to be a sequel and could not be some entirely new IP/Franchise. I think they let him do it just so that he would stop trying to convince them to let him do it. XD

And, nowadays, Yakuza is one of SEGA's franchises with more sequels. :P

Maybe it was their real life ties to the yakuza though that convinced them to give it a shot.

And that's the problem isn't it? Too many people addicted to convenience at the expense of rights. Can't possibly protest these awful, anti-consumer practices and help promote positive change in this industry or else I won't get my shiny thing right now!

I find Steam and DRM practices in general morally objectionable and I will never support them and it disgusts me that so many are so willing to do so, I have more than enough games to play and I'd sooner miss out on a few than to break my principles. What are you even doing here if you are perfectly happy to use DRM infected games? Being locked to 60 is perfectly fine, it'd be a major step up from the 30FPS of the console versions.

It's not really a deal breaker by any stretch (hell, I already put 30+ hours into the Bayonetta PC port), but I wish Platinum would just remove the FPS limit they put in their games since their most recent PC ports (Nier: Automata and Bayonetta) support arbitrary resolutions. Baby steps I guess. =/

It's possible that the frame rate is tied to the logic, and that's the reason for the frame rate limit... but that's just conjecture. Either way, I'm personally alright with a 60fps limit. Is 120 better? Well, sure... but it's not the leap that 30 to 60 is.
