lets see how far this gets before it crashes and burns

the idea is to post the lyrics of a song and have the next person continue by posting the lyrics of another song that begins with the last word of the lyrics you posted

you can end the lyrics at any point and on any word you see fit as long as the next persons lyrics begin with the last word

simple enough yes ?

lets see if this has legs or goes down like anon helium inflated lead balloon

ill open this with
under pressure by queen and david bowie

Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?..

'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And the night got deathly quiet,
And his face lost all expression.
He said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy,
You gotta learn to play it right.
You've got to know when to hold 'em,
Know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away,
Know when to run

Does this work?

Edit: The song is "The Gambler", famously sung by Kenny Rogers (though written by Don Schlitz).

thats how you do it
it would help if you mention the songs name and artist though

pink floyd run like hell

run, run, run, run [repeat line four times]
You better make your face up in
Your favourite disguise
With your button down lips and your
Roller blind eyes
With your empty smile
And your hungry heart
Feel the bile rising from your guilty past
With your nerves in tatters
As the cockleshell shatters
And the hammers batter
Down your door

Knockin On Heavens Door by Bob Dylan:

...
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door.

Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door

Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin' down

downtown petula clark

downtown
When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know, downtown

Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?
The lights are much brighter there

Levellers, One Way:

There's only one way of life
And that's your own, your own, your own

My father when I was younger took me up on to the hill
That looks down on the city smog and above the factory spill
He said, "Now this is where I come when I wanted to be free"
But he never was in his lifetime, but these words stuck with me, hey

Your advice
You ended on a tough word, but here goes:

Advice for the young at heart
Soon we will be older
When we gonna make it work?
Too many people living in a secret world
While they play mothers and fathers
We play little boys and girls
When we gonna make it work?

Tears for Fears, "Advice For The Young At Heart"
Work work money made,
Champagne life, high on display,
Work work money made,
Work work money made,
You keep it up, you get it made,
Work work money made,

Cant bring me into Hollywood,
See you livin it up,
It feels mighty good,
Recommendations all around,
Come taste the sweet life,
Thats what its all about,

Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes:-

Don't leave me this way
I can't survive
I can't stay alive
Without your love, no, baby
Don't leave me this way
I can't exist, I'll surely miss
Your tender kiss
Don't leave me this way

Oh baby, my heart is full
Of love and desire for you
So come on down and do
What you've got to do
You've started this fire
Down in my soul
Now can't you see that
It's burning out of control
So come on down and
Satisfy the need in me
Cause only your good loving
Could set me free

the beatles ( more or less) free as a bird

Free as a bird
It's the next best thing to be
Free as a bird

Home, home and dry
Like a homing bird I'll fly
As a bird on wings
Bow chicka bow wow
Aaaahhhhhh
Bow chicka bow wow
Ohhhhooooo
...good thing i am a pink floyd fan then

pink floyd mother

Ooooh aah, mother, should I build the wall?

Mother, should I run for president?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time?
American Pie by wife beater (maybe), Don Mclean

Long long time ago, I can still remember,
How that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance,
That I could make those people dance,
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

But February made me shiver,
With every paper I'd deliver,
Bad news on the doorstep,
I couldn't walk one more step

I can't remember if I cried,
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside,
The day the music died

So bye-bye, Miss American Pie,
Drove my Chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry,
Them good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye,
Singing this will be the day that I die,
This will be the day that I die
