The development team is norwegian, so most info os found on norwegian message boards, which I have a hard time understanding. So I may have gotten a few things wrong. Still, there are rumors that the game has been "äta rugbrød med glatt get" - meaning, watered down.

The game previously had an age rating of 21+. As you can see on its page, this had been removed:

Female Rage VR.

And the description is said to have been changed rather radically, too.

I don't like playing a "toned down" version of a game. But still, the development team should be free to take the game in any direction they like. A lot of my expressions - forum post, drawings - starts out a lot more aggressive or extreme than the version which goes online. I don't see this as watering down - more like finetuning.

That site makes my eyes bleed. Like those annoying reddit flares.

Is it mentioned who censored it? Does Norway have a media rating board? And does it rate games? Or did they get an AO rating from the ESRB or something and changed it themselves? Seeing how its VR, I'm guessing it might have faced pressure from the hardware partners.

Either way, doesn't look like something you'd pay $500 to play so the rating and content might not matter in the commercial sense anyway.
Changed from what? Can only see whats described now. But this bulletpoint sounds kind of awesome (in a bad-good way :D ): • An intriquing mix of dating sim and survival horror.

NEWSFLASH! In a previous build (0.4.2 I think) it was possible to kill the ex-girlfriend, something which blogger waspGirl said felt icky given your personal relationship. So the devs decide to change this "så langt". This however resulted in a lot of "hostile" feedback. Then another key feature was removed from the game: The players avatar had limbs that could be individually damaged. Blood and teeth could spray from his face, and he could loose an eye (the left eye screen of the HMD going totally black) or his hands could be crippled. This should now all be gone, appearently because the devs wanted to get back at the critics (or so the critics claim).

I think players should give early access titles some more space to evolve. Games are dynamic art forms, and if you buy something that is early access, you should accept the posibility that it may evolve in unexspected ways.
This is an April Fools, right? XD

When I designed the fake Female Rage VR website, I tried my very best to come up with as batshit insane game as I could.

The problem was ... it is kind of impossible to come up with a fictive title that can compete with the sheer insanity of already existing titles:

Drunken Robot Pornography
Stick Shift
Paint drying simulator 2015
Henry the Hamster Handler
Gon' E-Chon!
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

I think this is an area where video games are way ahead of both literature and film -- the indie scene is alive and constantly finding new ways to evolve and twist the medium. Look at amazon or netflix - compared to gaming sites, the media they are selling have pretty much stopped evolving.
Why is the OP downvoted? People don't like April Fools jokes?

I think it was quite funny and kudos for even making a fake website. :)

Welcome to GOG.
Reminds me a bit of that 'Revenge of the Bitch' RPG.

I recall a trashy and very kinky game on Desura similar to the one you came up with, but I don't remember the title. It featured a scantily clad live actress in the role of a giantess trampling tiny men and buildings, so that's actually a thing already. not just an April's Fool joke. ;)

Well, to be honest - I don't. I find April Fools to be just tedious, a day filled painfully unfunny jokes getting in the way of trying to browse for actual news/topics etc.

That differs from any other day of the year?

I think that was Mutant Colossus from Outer Space. :D

Edit: You can still buy it on Itch.io. You should wait for a discount though, it's not worth $7.99 (played and completed it some years ago).
