The summer chillout is in full swing and with it comes a natural drive towards taking things easy. That’s why this GOG GALAXY Day is the perfect occasion to introduce such an approach to organizing your gaming library. We’ll also show you how to get The Witcher: Enhanced Edition free of charge just by installing GOG GALAXY.

Create your unique game library
You can never have too much of a good thing, they say. When it comes to gaming libraries, this saying is surely true. Did you know that an average library on GOG GALAXY consists of 114 titles, while the biggest library has…20,497 games? Just imagine the hardships of navigating through such a formidable collection without the proper tools that GOG GALAXY can provide.

By using the “Assign tags” option next to each title (see the video below), you can easily divide your gaming library into smaller, intuitive collections. This way you won’t lose your favorite titles even after adding to your library of owned games from other platforms and subscription services like Xbox Game Pass, Uplay Plus, and Origin Access.

Get your copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
In addition to helping organize your game library, GOG GALAXY also gives you the chance to claim and keep the famous fantasy RPG from CD PROJEKT RED. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is widely considered one of the most ground-breaking RPGs ever made, and remains a must-play with its mature, non-linear story and challenging combat system.

To get this game free of charge, all you have to do is download the GOG GALAXY client and create an account. Once you’ve done that, head over to the "Recent" view and check the banner at the top. Click the giveaway button if you agree to receive news, updates, and GOG offers. After a while, the game will show up in your game library. This means you are ready to join Geralt of Rivia on his epic adventures!

Celebrate GOG GALAXY Day with us by discovering this useful and easy-to-access app. With it, you’ll be able to build huge libraries of exciting games (including a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition) without getting lost in the process.
I wonder if this counts as fourth giveaway or there still be some treat for Sale's ending.
When will this "Cloud sync failed" message goes away? BTW I have cloud saves disabled.

Hey, they are giving away Galaxy ... how can you not be grateful? :D

You mean the yellow "!" which is explaining something about delayed cloud syncing - even though the syncing is working fine? Had this since weeks, created a ticket and ended up reimporting my database to fix this.

If you want to try it (but be aware that you'll have to reconnect to all of your other accounts as well as you'll have to readd every game you manually added) - simply rename or move the folder "\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage" and restart Galaxy. Galaxy will now rebuild the database which might take a bit.

"Did you know that an average library on GOG GALAXY consists of 114 titles, while the biggest library has…20,497 games?"

I'm curious, how does one get 20,497 titles in their GOG Galaxy library? Or is this also including every single individual DLC, expansion, soundtrack, and free games/demos? Or is it also including games on Steam, PSN, Xbox, etc?

My library has 3,068 for just GOG titles. SCPM is the only one ahead of me on my friend's list, with 3199. The next closest is fortune_p_dawg with 1994. So, I'm guessing a meaty Steam library in addition to GOG?

I want to know what's in the 20,497 library!

On MacOS on the recent tab in the app there isn't a Banner to redeem the witcher game offer!

The latter-most, obviously.
As for what it contains: probably lots of freebies, bundle chaff and individually purchased "I bought it because it was under a dollar" games...though to get their "collection" to that size, the hoarder in question has probably also dropped at least one or two grand on games each year (on average) for at least a few years.

For example

SLP2000: Not really - there are mixed old and recent games. And I'd like some extra classics only day with some big titles [...]
...So, you want them to purposely hold off on releasing any newer games on certain days, just to artificially make the old game releases more "special"?

SLP2000: [...] - like Black&White or Neverhood. Or Dune.
Don't know what's held the first two up, but the old Dune games are apparently being held captive by Herbert's heir(s), who have little interest in allowing them to be re-released ("Old games should stay old" is the quote I remember reading regarding one of the Herberts' opinion on the matter).
For most of these somewhat well-known titles, their lack of availability is not for lack of people at GOG and various publishers trying to make them available.

Hi guys I just want to say that this whole store, client, and site is so freaking awesome and it's just like when steam used to be good ten years ago.

Monumental sales, unobtrusive client, great sleak everything, easy to use, not utterly ruined with shovelware and anime crap, and not filled with a toxic community of imbeciles and children, oh and plus no DRM.

Thanks again guys. Truly the present and future of the gaming industry is Polish. I just spent several hundred bucks here over this summer that I normally would have on Steam. I think I spent about $8 on Steam this year for DLC for an online game I already stupidly owned over there, and probably close to three or four hundred dollars on here. Valve is so awful and I'm glad to be done with them.

Thanks again guys and keep up the good work!

OH and the combination of extended sale and flash sale is AMAZING I probably ended up spending an extra hundred bucks here just because of all that and please we keep getting random free games. GOG is the best gaming site ever and I absolutely love the Galaxy Client PLEASE DON'T CHANGE IT CLIENT IS GREAT AS IT IS!

patrikc: I can already feel the summer since it's scorching hot up in this place, I sincerely doubt Galaxy can bring the breeze.
Yesterday GeForce NOW, today Galaxy, I wonder what tomorrow (or the foreseeable future) will bring.
but they're doing the same thing, positive PR campaign to give away Witchers (time and time again), to make CDPR look a bit better in the eyes of investors and consumers. who seriously would stomach playing original Witcher now? it has worse controls than early PS ports and suffers from bad optimization even now on much powerful PCs. this game technically is a joke, better to save your sanity and watch longplay with all cutscenes.

Every day is celebrate Galaxy day. :) Love being able to access most of my games via Galaxy with few exceptions, although I wish some of the plugins were more stable. It's so useful to look at the whole library and search for a title to see if I own it already on any platform before buying it again somewhere else on sale. :)

Looking forward to future features and updates that enhance functionality even further. Keep up the good work guys, one of the best clients out there!

Yeah, I want "good old games" sale. They hold off some games to releas a racing games or sports games at once, so what's the problem with holding off some new games?

Yeah, but they can try harder, like they did several times in the past. I want results, not effort.
still i dont understand why galaxy rankings are made only for friends? im more curious about global ranking of f.e. time played in individual games.. if there are some users who love the same games to play them so much.

and am not curious for "valuable" information that none of my 2 friends played that game :-)
