Babylon 5, The Foundation, Dune and and almost forgot about Stargate...

From which era?
Time Tunnel, The Invaders, Blakes Seven.

Battlestar Galactica (the film, not seen the series but I hear thats quite good as well.

As others mentioned, Babylon 5 - one of the best. Farscape, Firefly.

Stargate was ok.

Blade Runner film.

Asimov's works - most of them - particularly the Robots series and Foundation series.

Certainly in terms of books/films that's pretty much limitless. TV Series tend towards the brash and bolshy rather than good core storyline.
I'm inclined to go with the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions over Star Wars or Star Trek. I like the battle between the machines and Zion.

Space: Above and Beyond.
Books:
C. J. Cherryh's Downbelow Station series
Andre Norton's Time Trader series

TV:
Stargate SG-1 was great, SG Atlantis was good

I only know of few cartoons, you already mentioned Ulysses 31, which is a great series.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors

Starcom

Battle of the Planets

Once upon a time in space

For the rest I still like Buck Rogers (♥ Wilma Deering ♥) and the original Battlestar: Galactica, even though the FX is dated now.

Telika: Well, I was more curious about space opera and spaceship laser kaboom scifi...
Down-to-earth anticipation à la Robocop and Mad Max widens the question a bit too much.

I have to admit I am more of a Fantasy guy than Sci Fi.

I prefer the likes of Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, D&D, Zelda, etc.
moblie suit gundam 0079 and zeta anyway

strictly speaking transformers are scifi too
i just ignore the assy movies

Telika: Which ones of them do you regret haven't developped as much as star wars and star trek, or got a similar part of the space cake. If I may say.
I wish more people knew about David Drake's Northworld series. It's robot vikings in space, for crying out loud. Someone should have optioned this. It's sort of like if that XBOX360 game Too Human had actually been any good.

Smannesman mentioned 'Cleopatra 2525' which is really not that far off from 'Emmanuel In Space'. An ironic twist is that it's the only thing Jennifer Sky ever did that allowed her to keep her top on.
If there was one I would like to see more of...

Farscape. Maybe John's little brother comes looking for him.

Otherwise, Babylon 5: Telepath War.

David Drake very good author and the Northworld books are among his more interesting ones.

There are way too many good space opera books but to mention some TV series: Galaxy Express 999.
Tine E's suggestion made me think of Barbarella http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062711/.
Farscape, Flash Gordon and the Riddick movies and

BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25TH CENTURY!

Babylon 5 without a doubt.
It used to be on Wed` or Thursday & repeated Sunday. I`d still watch both.
Even used to model/animate B5 stuff in Lightwave for giggles.

As for Star Trek/Wars, didn`t like any of them.

2001/2010 Space oddysey, would like to see them make good films of the two remaining books (also the Rama series if possible \o/).

Blade Runner is amazing, dreading the sequel...
