The Two Towers - Evenstar (the entire LOTR complete recordings are a masterpiece, but this is my favorite bit
Starman - an underrated movie
Braveheart - For the Love of a Princess
The New World - 3:54 will change your life

This:

Once Upon a Time in the West

This is pretty good too:

In the Mood for Love
Apart from the Morricone classics (mainly the italian westerns and french crime movies, with of course all Leone cooperations at the top) :

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Bacharach)
Ravenous (Albarn & Nyman)
Dune (Toto)
The Beast (Mark Isham)
The Missouri Breaks (Williams)
City of Lost Children (Badalamenti)
Jin Roh (Mizogushi)
Dance of the Vampires (Komeda)
The IPCRESS file (Barry)
The stunt man (Frontiere)
Company of Wolves (Fenton)
Don't look now (Donaggio)
Brazil (Kamen)
Phantasm (Myrow)
Rhum Boulevard (De Roubaix)
Bunker Palace Hotel (Eigel/Devos)
Cowboy Bebop (Kanno)
Joe Kidd (Shifrin)
Coup de Torchon (Sarde)

Am also partial to james bond soundtracks.

Edit : added random track samples wherever i could find one, for the curious. but if i mention them, it's because their whole soundtracks are awesome.

To cut it short: Pretty much every movie from Sergio Leone, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

Sergio Leone got of course the legendary Ennio Morricone, so that is a no-brainer.

Robert Rodriguez is the "one-man film crew", so he does even the music himself a lot of times, which just makes it fit in every scene.

And Quentin Tarantino has a huge room filled with records, and when he's writing the script and gets stuck, he goes there and listens to some songs. So soundtrack and script are developed more or less in symbiosis - and always match the mood.
Basil Poledouris

Starship Troopers - Fed Net March / Klendathu Drop
Conan The Barbarian - The Anvil Of Crom
RoboCop - Rock Shop
