Seeing as we have a topic about our favourite books and and a [url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/blade_runner]few topics to [url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/x_men_origins_wolverine_review/]different films, I thought a dedicated topic would be a good idea.
Favorite Films:
Personally I'm picky about what films I like, but conversely my collection is made up of terrible action films, mostly Van Damme and Silvester Stallone. I very highly rate The Dark Crystal and Fire and Ice, also Phone Booth and The King of Kong.
Last One I Saw:
No Retreat, No Surrender. That film was seriously camp, and the scene where the hero 'Jason' is training by getting his friend to sit on his crotch while he thrusts into the air is tragically hilarious. Not to mention the Ghost of Bruce Lee who comes to train Jason; he doesn't even remotely -look- like Bruce Lee which makes every scene even more funny.

Recommendation:

The King of Kong. Without a shadow of a doubt. In fact, if anyone has an interest in gaming as a whole, let alone retro gaming, they really should see that film.

The King of Kong is such a great film. It's not really about retro gaming as it is about the competive subculture of gaming, really. And I love it.
Anyway, I suggest that you guys rent out Cloverfield on DVD. It's much better on the small screen.

Better than Cloverfield is Quarantine. It does what Cloverfield does, only much better, and with zombies.
The most recent movie I've seen that I have to recommend is Star Trek. It's actually really, really good, and Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike love it.
Favourite movie is Children of Men.
It must have been a while since I last watched a movie, because I cannot recall what was the most recent one I saw.
Also, I didn't like Cloverfield, mostly for one single reason - the supposed 'am-cam' footage was done just as terribly as it always is in Hollywood movies. The gratuitous shaking I can handle, even though it was overdone - but why the hell do they think that amateur photographers randomly switch the camera on and off all the time? There wasn't a single scene that wasn't marred by about a million retarded MTV jump-cuts. This might sound like I'm complaining about something minor and technical, but the am-cam thing was the entire point of the movie. Fuck that up, and you've fucked up the movie. And they did, and they had.

I didn't like Quarantine. I did enjoy the film it remade, that Spanish version called REC.
Oh, and watch Primer. SOOO GOOD.

I heard REC and Quarantine were almost exactly the same. If that's the better one, I guess I'll have to check it out...
Anyone who claims to understand Primer is a liar. I did find it strangely enjoyable though.

It's a good movie, but I still don't get it. I've probably watched it about ten times in the past year.

I just finished watching it on Netflix Watch Now after you told me about it, and HOLY SHIT. That is some trip. I'm glad you guys didn't understand it completely, because I'm trying to figure it out myself. Thanks for the recommendation. That was one hell of a movie.

Yeah, it's enjoyable as a genuine peek into a world I can't even begin to understand.

[REC] is the better one, it's finally coming out here in the US in a couple of months on DVD.
Also, I watched Calamari Wrestler last night, and I have to say that it was a ginormous turd. nobody watch it please.

Actually I got it from Netflix 2 weeks ago but with finals and all I hadn't had time to watch it. I forgot where I had heard about it, but I was like "Calamari Wrestler! Sounds hilarious" I'm pretty sure I didn't laugh once. So I then watched Step Brothers which was hilarious. Tonight I saw Let the Right One In, it is an excellent film.
The Dark Knight is one of the best action movies ever made, and the best superhero movie made. But you guys probably already know (but maybe not acknowledge) that
And then, there's Indiana Jones. The first three are perfect. Harrison Ford is the man, period.
The last film I saw was Ip Man. I don't know if it's out in US and Europe cinemas yet, but it's a film by Donny Yen. Very good action scenes, not too over-the-top like Jet Li's stunt choreographies, and the storyline is decent too. On top of that, it's based on the true story of one of Bruce Lee's masters. Can't get better than that

I prefer Iron Man to The Dark Knight.
