I couldn't make it through Zombie Strippers, in fact not even past the first 20 minutes. However if you liked it you'd probably like Stripperland, based on Zombieland only with stripper zombies. Yes, this makes it a spoof of a spoof. The universe will probably implode if anyone pulls off a spoof of Stripperland. It sucks, but I made it all the way through since I was waiting for all the Zombieland jokes (I loved Zombieland).
I liked Hanna okay, it was exactly what I expected so I was not disappointed.

Now, I'm rare, I loved Pitch Black in the theater and it only gets better with age, every year or so I go back and watch it and it's even more fun that time. It's like scotch!

Umm...I think most people loved Pitch Black. I just felt that it wasted most of its potential. There were INNUMERABLE times while I was watching it where I was like "for the love of...you were THIS CLOSE to doing something brilliant, but you missed the mark." And, like 'Below' (which I liked a lot more), it didn't do "scary" very well.

The acting was pretty good, though, and I loved some of the visuals...and it's not like the script was BAD...just disappointing.

As far as Hanna goes...it just felt like a mess to me. A mess of unfounded pretensions, silly camera work, stupid scripting/dialogue, abrasive music...all wrapped together by a plot that REALLY failed to engage me.

Perhaps my impressions of the movie would have been better if I had some idea what the hell the director was trying to accomplish.

I actually quite like this movie as well :)

Saw 'Underworld'

Pretty fun. I loved the whole over-the-top technogothic style, and the ridiculously cool way that even the simplest of tasks was accomplished (walking down a hallway becomes epic when leather, capes, and rock music are added). I do have to admit to being a tiny bit disappointed in the action scenes, though. They were perfectly fine, but I was expecting them to be a little more insane and stylized. Ahh, well...it was still pretty much exactly what I expected. Very blue, very heavy metal, and very entertaining. Will probably watch the other movies.

EDIT: also, the subway shootout at the beginning made me really want to play Max Payne again.

After my middle daughter watched the Rise of the Planet of the Apes she told me she wants to watch all the originals. We started last night with the Planet of the Apes - Great Movie

Grave Encounters (2011)

I watch shows like GA and Destination Truth from to time. I often find myself wondering what would happen if they really came upon something supernatural.

If you're a fan of these types of series watch this at night with the lights off and you should be entertained and sufficiently shat up.

Eyes of the Mothman (2011)/

Good doc about the weird shit going on in West VA back in the 60s.

Suicide Club, then it's sequel Noriko's Dinner Table.

The Infernal Affairs trilogy was also ridiculously fucking good.

hmm...I love docu-horror (for some reason). Might have to give this one a try.

Pans Labyrinth

Almost a Fairy Tale. Almost a Horror story. Almost a straight morality story.

Almost perfect.

Awesome film.

A very similar movie to Pan's Labyrinth is a movie from the early 70's called The Spirit of the Beehive. The movies have different directors, different writers, different everything, but I kind of consider The Spirit of the Beehive to be the same kind of story told by a different storyteller (ie the director and writers of each). I think it is kind of a spiritual predecessor to Pan's Labyrinth...except for the fact that I don't think that the folks who made Pan's Labyrinth set out to redo The Spirit of the Beehive in any way. It just kind of happened.

It isn't as good as Pan's Labyrinth of course, but I would suggest you check it out if you are interested.

The Colony (TV Series 2009) Season 1

It takes awhile to get going, but once it gets past the first month it gets better. Fairly interesting docuseries about life in a simulated post-apocalyptic environment. It's a simulation, but you can watch members of the group go native as the experiment progresses. Also, some of the stuff these guys come up with and build out of junk and scrap they find laying around is pretty amazing.
