I freakin' love movies.
Some of the films that I consider (nearly flawless) masterpieces are, in order:
Blade Runner
Groundhog Day
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
Chinatown
and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Other films that I can watch again and again and that I consider excellent are, in order:
Back to the Future
The Shawshank Redemption
Star Wars
The Matrix
The Fugitive
Mission: Impossible
A film that has long been my favorite is Contact
Some "foreign", or non-Hollywood, productions that I can highly recommend are, in order:
Ying Xiong a.k.a. Hero
La Cité des Enfants Perdus a.k.a. The City of Lost Children
Cidade de Deus a.k.a. City of God
Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain a.k.a. The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain
The most recent film I've seen that deserves special mention (because it resonated with me long after it was over) is Michael Clayton
Well, there you go. Aren't you glad you know that about me know?
