I wouldn't bother with either one. Both are incredibly dumbed-down from the original.

The jury seems to be divided on that. From the reviews I've read of Hypercube, the acting at least is supposedly somewhat better than the original, which admittedly wouldn't take much.

Watched "Blindness" today.
I thought it was quite good, kind of thought-provoking stuff.
I spend most of the film wondering how I'd cope being blind, and I imagine I wouldn't cope very well!
I had heard it had got bad reviews, but I can't imagine why really (without going and reading some of those reviews, which I obviously can't be bothered to do). Apparently the book might be better, but then I guess you could say that about most things really.

eXistenZ is... weird. Interesting, but weird.
One of these days, I'll revisit an old favourite of mine, Enemy Mine. Haven't seen it in 10 years or so, and I just got it from Amazon.

I saw Gamer yesterday. That has to be one of the most watchable bad movies I've ever seen. At one point in the beginning, some dude gets shot and the gunman runs over, begins to teabag the corpse (yes, a real corpse) and you hear someone yell, "Look, he's teabagging!" Aside from that, there's only a few other things no one who doesn't play games would get, like people acting the same way an NPC merchant would in, say, Killing Floor. Also, they have a Second Life thing going on with "Society", only, like their take on shooters, it's with real people. And a fat guy is "playing" as a chick.
Other than that, it's a typical evil-guy-who-controls-almost-everyone sort of story. Also, Michael C. Hall has an awful southern accent, and generally feels out of place. Then there's that guy whose name you can't remember but hear him in games from Saint's Row to Mass Effect (If you've played both you know who I'm talking about) making a cameo as a hard-as-nails FBI agent who is curious about pistachio butter. Don't forget that guy who played Luigi in the Mario Bros. Movie. Seriously, after that catastrophe, I would avoid being in any movie with the word "Game" in the title.

You think that's bad acting? I dare you to watch Cube Zero. You don't know what bad acting in a movie about cubes that kill people is until you see this movie.

Last one I saw was Drag Me to Hell and I didn't like it at all. I just don't think that horror and comedy mix that well together, not in this movie at least.
My favorite movie is Terminator 2: Judgement Day, if you haven't seen it then you definitely should. :)

District 9 was the last film I saw, and it's incredible. I loved the camcorder-style, it really is a revolution in scifi films, building off the work of my favorite film, Children of Men.

I went to watch District 9 too. It is very good but not "teh bestest evah!" like some say. I'm still waiting for the Moon to be released on dvd. (It wasn't shown around where I live)
But the last movie I saw was the Man from Earth and I have to say that it is one of my all time favorites. It's a great movie if you get sucked into it. Otherwise its just 2 hours of talking. Kind of reminds me of Waiting for Godot even though they are completely different. Just like someone in IMDB said, its pseudo intellectual and I LIKE IT!

The Dark Knight is the most over-rated warmed up sack of shit ever put on celluloid. The *only* reason, and I mean the *only* reason why people liked it is because Ledger died before it came out. They had a good marketing team too, convincing everyone that the "Why so serious?" shirt was the hottest thing since Vaginas.
Heath Ledger did *not* play the joker in that film, he played Osama Bin Laden. The *only* decent thing about the film, and it was actually incredible up until the CGI kicked in, was Aaron Eckhart as Twoface. Too bad they didn't just edit the film so that Joker died, and Twoface lived...I would love to see him in a movie devoted to him, with NO cgi...let Savini do the makeup.
Batman Begins was one hell of a movie though. I cannot for the life of me understand:
a) why Nolan completely wasted the momemtum he had coming out of "Begins", and
b) how people can be duped by such a ho-hum movie.
Best comic movies for me, in order, are:
1) History of Violence
2) Iron Man
3) X-Men III
4) V for Vendetta
5) Fantastic Fou: Rise of the Silver Surfer

incorrect. Stephen King most definitely *is* a great writer, YOU just don't like him. This liberal Gen X concept of "opinion" really upsets me. Things can have an objective "goodness" about them, that can be quantifiably and qualitatively demonstrated. For example, Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorcese *ARE* good directors. Anyone who disagrees with that statement misunderstands the definition of "opinion". One can DISLIKE a good director, but that person is still a good director. One can like a bad movie, but it's still a bad movie.
