Favorite Films:
My favorite films to watch usually aren't what I considered best.
Best:
Duck, You Sucker (it means more to me on a personal level, also my favorite movie soundtrack)
Platform (it means more to me on a personal level)
Quiet Earth (post apocalypse scifi, it's one of those movie that doesn't give you an answer)
A Wind Named Amnesia (post apocalypse anime, not a good movie as a whole, but interesting topic)
The Road (the movie affected me quite a bit, I still only watched it once so far)
Powaqqatsi (It's more hopeful and human than Koyaanisqatsi)
To Kill a Mockingbird
Anything by John Carpenter:
Prince of Darkness (imo, Carpenter's best, campy at times, but great atmosphere and crescendo, fav soundtrack)
They Live (quintessential imo),
Dark Star (space humor)
anything by Kurosawa, Fellini & Hitchcock
Favorite to watch:
Delicatessen (post apocalypse humor)
LOTR
Shaun of the Dead
Blazing Saddles
The Holy Grail
Mad Max 2 (action fun without cgi)
Pitch Black (don't judge me)
Most high testosterone 80s action - arnold, bronson, eastwood, stalone, russel, norris (no bruce willis, sorry)
Everything pre-Hollywood by Jet Lee and Jackie Chan
Last Watched:
A Knight's Tale (it was fun, with Heath Ledger)
Recommendation:
Delicatessen (if you like Shaun of the Dead type of humor you should enjoy this)
Oh and I guess I should add this to piss people off. Anything 'directed' by Coppola family are overrated tripe, I don't care for glorification of gangsters, Apocalypse Now is a pretentious Hollywood view of Vietnam War (despite his claims to not do things Hollywood way), Lost in Translation (this is the weeaboo idea of Japan and relationship in general).
