Possibly a problem with Galaxy not working - if you use GOG on browser (ie: Google Chrome), can you see your game library if you hover over your username and click on games, or do you get an error with that too?

Also, when you first launched Galaxy, did you get a Firewall prompt? If so, did you let it through, or did you block it? Blocking it would mean Galaxy won't be able to communicate with the servers.

Also try re-installing Galaxy. It could just be due to a corrupt file during installation.
1 - Uninstall GOG Galaxy.
2 - Delete installer from your computer.
3 - Re-download installer from www.gog.com/galaxy
4 - Run new installer.

I hope this helps you! Good luck!

Unless it's a ten minute thing then before reinstalling I would contact support.

No problem, glad to help. What was it that worked (so that other people who have the problem know what to do).
