also interesting that no major car racing game/sim ever comes here. "strange".. real car names, music etc.. there is not a single "aaa" racing games from last 5 years.


in last year's thread i mentioned wanting shadow warrior 3.. what a trash woke disaster that turned into. glad it flopped. no, i truly am. and no, i have not purchased and don't intend to until at least 75% off. and i won't play it after getting it, i expect either. not saying never, but am not wanting to. for those who don't know, they changed the voice actor at last minute from the guy who voiced previous two games. the guy was not asian.. so?? but even so, they got some half asian who was in white castle movies and he sounds trash. his voice is below "meh". they should not have changed it for normal "continuity" reasons, but they could have at least done it a lot better. example; Ken Jeong. full asian and super funny. the "new" bobby lee of sorts.


overall gog 2022 opinion; terrible and getting worse overall.. that they now (recent change) only have latest patched version and only some patches and not initial gog "v1" release is actually fully illegal and will be sued for!!! (topic for another day)

and yeah, game count or any counters on user account as mentioned ( gog . com/forum/general/pull_down_menu_changed ) still not fixed or even spoken about, by them...

I consider these to be blockbuster releases though I would like more big name games like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Tekken, Silent Hill...too.

Arguably the Kane & Lynch's are pretty big releases too (by my standards). I agree with you it would have been better for GOG to get more big releases, though, in any case.

The disappointment this year for me was the continued DRMification...Galaxy "my Rewards" etc...which many users here seem to just make lame excuses to try and justify.

To be fair the reasoning of the VA change was purely based on race and not talent even had a teaser and a gameplay videio with the old Lo Wang VA .. So it was a idoitic recasting and we even got it confirmed it was the by now so called''SJW ''a nd/or so called''Woke'' thinking and talking point on recasting because it was bad and racist not to cast someone matching the race of the character ..Live action that logic does make sense but not VA work

I don't disagree that a last minute VA change isn't really wise, but they also list STALKER 2 "maybe woke/bad", and frankly at this point calling anything "woke" is really just code for "thing I don't like because reasons" from the most pathetic people.

Not always is ''woke'' or ''sjw ''used for that so called code.. for example I myself still use it to describe in shorthand the thinking patterns and writing pattern of how several at atleast one point self-proclaimed woke and sjws it also works as a shorthand on how they how they speak and act.. granted woke and SJW has lately gotten a rise in using it in the way you mention .. I don't get the Stalker thing though as I never was big into stalker so unsure what if anything has been shown to be seen as ''woke''

Are you complaining about the lack of AAA releases? Or what exactly?

Of all the things to complain about (DRM, missing important patches, etc.), some of which you mentioned, lack of AAA games shouldn't really be one, imo.

We can't have it all. GOG is small / doesn't make much money nor have much leverage, and so far is still majority DRM-free, so we don't get many dopamine-releasing AAA big-name releases.

What do you realistically think GOG can do to get more AAA releases here?

GOG has added over 609 games to the store in 2022, over 313 were made in 2022 and is shown in the list above (may miss a few, the source isn't ideal). How is that not enough? I am sure you would find at least one game that will satisfy you in some regard.

To me good were: Coromon, taking care of the Pokemon-shaped hole in my heart; BLACKTAIL, for its story, art, archery; Kao the Kangaroo (2022), reminding me of the 1st game on Sega Dreamcast, but it's done better; Lunistice, for obvious reasons to anyone who was on Sega Dreamcast; Foretales, for the story and cards; The Entropy Centre, for being like "Portal" and the puzzles; I can continue forever, there are many interesting releases. The year sure is not perfect (nothing is perfect), but to call it weak I will not, it has enough games for a very long time for the slow me.

2022 Was weak? We got The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, without the Creation Club credits microtransactions.

I say 2022 was the strongest year for gog.com just because of that.

No doubt this is a purely subjective thing, because like some others I think it has been a great year for releases at GOG, the pricing aside for some games.

I am actually quite surprised at how well GOG are still doing, but then I am realistic about AAA games coming here ... DRM-Free.

A great point! Not shown by my "made in 2022" query, since it's not made in 2022, so. Indeed, that's a good achievement of the year, it took a long time for Bethesda to finally put the game in the DRM Free form, now finally all The Elder Scrolls are available. Who knows, would it be Bethesda will put "Fallout 4" and "Doom" (2016) with "Doom Eternal" as well? Hopefully the next year will have something of that scale evermore.

I may not be a Skyrim fan but I agree as its a game that wouldn't have came here if G.o.g was doing bad iether that or they are doing so bad they was desperate and paid way more in advance for the game then they'd otherwise be willing.. I say this as the actions from G.O.G as of late give me a feeling of iether doing great or are desperate .. hard to tell at times
