True, but I just realized my workplace is next to a roastery (that's why it smells so good there when I come to work). I bet I could go buy some coffee straight from them in big bags, before the coffee even goes to stores. They even give us free samples every now and then.

Not really considering the beauty of power armor is that you can just take a shit in it and hence no need for toilet paper since the smell is contained by the armor.

When I was shopping on Friday:

- Pasta almost out, rice completely out. Still plenty of couscous, quinoa and millet though
- The cheap toilet paper almost out, plenty of the more pricey stuff available though. Paper tissues almost gone though.
- Almost all canned soups (and the likes) out, except for the varieties that really taste like shit.
- Bottled water almost out (Wtf... out tap water is really good - and actually more clean that bottled water).
- We bought our usual stuff for a family of four - one nicely filled shopping cart - and someone bawled at us for "hoarding" - wtf...

My local grocery store had tons of this stuff Friday night, but I think it's because they limited purchases to 4 per customer. More stores need to do that.

This really is a serious crisis, but not so serious people need to hoard years of toiler paper. There's a happy medium there somewhere.

Fun fact: When I was in the supermarket yesterday, about one third of the people there wore gloves. Most of the people wearing gloves were scratching their faces with their gloved hands -.- I really didn't know whether to laugh or to facepalm. I decided not to facepalm, since I didn't have any gloves on ;P

Another funny thing: Milk was almost sold out. There was no skim milk or 2% milk, no almond milk, no soy milk, no lactose free milk... There only was a huge palette full of whole milk oO Da fuq? Corona's bad, but not bad enough to get fat because of it! I almost died laughing!

I get that the situation here is pretty serious, but that's exactly my humor.

It's not about surviving corona, it's about dying of acute cholesterol poisoning after everyone else has starved to death.

They could also raise prices if they're not concerned with a potential loss of reputation. If prices get jacked up outside of the store because people are buying and reselling for cheap, there is obviously wiggle room regarding pricing.

It would be more interesting if they responded to the extreme demand instead of going all Soviet and ration it out. If they think it will bite them in the ass, they are probably overestimating the longterm memory of the people.

True, but all that disappearing TP from shops lightning fast being down to some totally away with the fairies when it comes to rationality, that limiting sales per shopper here makes perfect sense. I for one am totally pissed off being on the receiving end on that kind of hoarding nonsense which I've said it a few days ago and it still stands : there is as yet no need for that kind of panicking here.
