Dartpaw86: Sadly, I'm pretty sure that ever since Fallout 3 was released, Bethesda who is more or less "best buddies" with Steam forced all exclusivity to them. Even worse is that sometimes when downloading games here, I still see ads for Fallout 2.
Fallout interface is SPECIAL!! HA!
darthspudius: Indeed, but as a frequent steam user, it really doesn't bother me too much. I have access to the games in many ways.
Personally, I don't mind steam either. Except I have the "Fallout Trilogy" on disc and it doesn't work on my new PC.
I heard rumours that Fallout 1 and 2 on Steam is the exact same version, so I am afraid to buy it. And even if I am reassured that it will work. Steam refuses to accept my credit card. So I'll have to buy a points card if desperate enough.
Dartpaw86: Though to be perfectly honest, I could never get used to the awkward control scheme of 1 and 2, and the annoying time limits. What's the point of making a big open world, if you're not allowed to randomly explore at your leisure?
As much as I love the game and atmosphere, that's honestly one reason why I preferred 3, but I prefer New Vegas even more, because New Vegas is made by the remnants of the 1 and 2 dev team. So it has that classic Fallout feel <3
darthspudius: The time limits really don't matter. I have never eeever came close to running out of time which is quite funny really. As far as new vegas goes... it was okay haha. Looks liked the originals, played like Fallout 3 but was as exciting as watching toilet paper shagging. I would rather just play Fallout 3 again. It was much more fun.
I admit, 3 was much bigger and had much more stuff to do <3 and with the expansions the game never ends.
Okay, to be honest I have no idea... why I said I preferred New Vegas. Didn't get much sleep last night >_< my "favourite" also depends on my mood and how nostalgic I feel at the moment, and seeing as the topic was all about 1 and 2, I was shifting to New Vegas for a few seconds. But mostly I love 3 more <3
