Weclock: two hours and sixteen minutes for me, I can't wait, I'm freaking melting! oh no! the jet fuel!
Holy shit, I haven't seen you posting for months! How is life in your neck of the woods?
So its out.
Anyone played it a bit and give a brief review of the game?. Is it more FO3 or FONV?.

catpower1980: mmmm, looks like my "gaming" pc (more for work but whatever) won't be able to handle the minimum specs requirements even if I can play GTA5 smoothly. I guess it will be the same for Just Cause 3. And in Fallout 4 case, there are already some reports that the game is badly optimized.... Looks like I'm gonna still play GTA Online for a long time (already 220 hours) as AAA sandboxes new games are now too demanding :(

Antimateria: I just watched some few minute long comparison that even bit of a budget PC can run it better than both of those consoles.
Like with gtx 750 ti you could get over 40 fps all the time with decent settings, where as consoles struggled to even keep it in 30.
Worst case scenario: is if there is no demo, I'll buy/try it on steam and ask for a refund if it's crawling too much....

Anyway, I prefer to wait because as usual there will be a bunch of patches and most important, a lot of mods to better suit the game experience to my tastes (that reminds me I should maybe buy the DLC's for New Vegas, so I could play it completely for the 4th time ^o^)

Well what I've tried with my gtx 760 it stutters a bit with high/ultra settings but it's better when you make that window mode with borderless.. seems to stutter less. Still some. But those few minutes I played it seemed decent game. I'll have to tweak a bit of those settings.. and it's not totally bad looking. I picked survival difficulty.. some flying bugs killed me quite fast. ^^

LOL, I remember my first encounter with the flying bugs in New Vegas, quickly learned it wasn't the "right" way for beginners :o)

Anyway, with heavy-duty games, I always go full-screen and start from the lowest settings possible then add post-processing effects afterwards (step-by-step) because contrary to the early 2000's, even on lowest settings, 3D games nowadays are still decent looking (if the original "art" is good in itself of course).

I don't really want to compromise much with lighting and shadows because those are pretty good when in high but still.. hight settings does make a lot of difference compared to ultra because ultra makes all those sliders to go max. and high you see that they are quite low. I made a female character who looks a lot like default femshep from mass effects.

Edit: Seems that adjusting godrays from ultra to medium with all other things on max makes a lot of difference.. Still not quite satisfied. ^^

Going by the reviews it's an updated FO3 with a little more Mass Effect.
I am still waiting for the UPS guy. Next time, if I ever do this again, I'm getting digital. *pushes nose up to window and stares out, waiting*

Let me know how it is once you get to play :-)
By this point, the Fallout stick feels played out to me. The same 50s Scifi chic, the same black humour, the same juxtaposition of sweetly retro Americana and brutal post-apocalypse, the same fucking Vault Boy and his two decade old shenanigans. It borders on self-parody.

i know, isn't it awesome? <3
obviously it is still working since many, many people have been clamoring for this for many years.

edit: 'cause yeah, the other rpg shtick isn't played out to the point of stupid. elves, dwarves, etc etc etc

Which isn't a good thing, because it awkwardly conflates two different styles. For example, doing Bioware's cinematic conversations in the Creation Engine plain doesn't work. Lots of jarring cuts and zooms. Seeing the waxen features and dead eyes of the player character model while hearing the voice actor trying to emote is weird, too.

Certainly not gonna disagree with that.

Yeah, the new dialogue system looks pretty iffy. Wasn't a fan of it in Mass Effect, and FO4 isn't gonna convert me, I think. >_>
