snowkatt: does this work when you have the steam version fo new vegas but the disc version of fallout 3 ? ( goty )
Sachys: I think you can maybe redeem your CD key for F3 on steam Personally, i appreciate every game in the series. Each has its unique setting. Hell, i enjoyed Fallout Tactics, ffs. It took me a long time to get used with Fallout 3 and it turned out to be better than expected. I still prefer the old ones or New Vegas, but i don't discard Fo3 so easily. It has its merits. But would love a proper Fallout. 3D it's not exactly suited for Fo series.
Well, i have Wasteland 2 now. Took me a whole week-end to create a party. Barely scratching the surface and feels kind of overwhelming. Trying hard to get the best outcome from bad situations. Due to my social skills i've managed to recruit those raiders in the beginning. That was priceless and i've laughed hard seeing them trained by the drill sargent.
Stil, it ain't Fallout...

There is one thing I can't fucking stand about this game though. Skyrim and Oblivion have the same problem. All the stores have very little money so selling shit becomes a pain in the ass. It's like I'm their only customer and obviously that is not very realistic because my character shouldn't be the only person in the wasteland buying stuff. Every day, I should be able to go to a store and sell my stuff without any problems. Is there any mods that fix this?

From i recall there are quite a few mods for carrying insane amounts of loot.
P.S.: for Elder Scrolls III-V and Fallout 3/New Vegas. There are also mods that are modifying the amount of money the merchants have.

I just found this cool mod for Dogmeat fans at the Nexus. Leather armor for Dogmeat. :P
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/4474/?
Unfortunately, it's not power armor but it's better than nothing.

monkeydelarge: All this talk of Fallout 3 is putting me in the mood to play this game. What is the best weapon in the game BTW? And the best armor in the game?
The power armors are the most protective. If you have the Broken Steel add-on, I prefer the Hellfire armor's bonuses over the T-51b's. But I personally prefer the Ranger battle armor over everything else. It has the highest DR out of all the non-power armors and has very nice bonuses. The +5 AP is nice if you use VAT, especially if you combine it with Grim Reaper's Sprint. Since I don't use VAT, I use it mainly for the +1 LCK. Combined with lucky shades, you only have to start out with 7 LCK to end up with 10 LCK. When combined with the right perks, 10 LCK gives you insane critical hits, especially with a fast weapon like the Xuanlong.
As for weapons, it would be easiest to start off with small guns. The best small guns are probably the Terrible Shotgun, Lincoln's Repeater and the Xuanlong Assault Rifle. I could use the Xuanlong all game once I get it, it's so versatile. But if you switch to energy weapons during the game, it's hard to beat A3-21's Plasma Rifle.
As for the merchants, once you invest in the caravans, they'll usually have enough money to buy anything you have, especially Wolfgang. I would recommend installing a mod that makes the caravans immortal. There are certain areas you visit frequently where the caravans can easily get themselves killed, like Rivet City.

IronArcturus: I still wish GOG could get a deal with Bethesda/Zeni. Wouldn't it be nice to get Fallout 1/2 back and have Fallout 3/NV as well?
paladin181: Do we have any games that Beth/Zeni own besides Arx Fatalis? EDIT: Why would they pull Fallout from the store and not Arx? I mean does anyone REALLY believe they'll bring anything back here, even Arena and Daggerfall? They belong here even if Beth offers them for free.

The old Fallout games were re-released on other services using Steam (whereas some previously had DRM-free or other versions) so I wouldn't expect to see the games on GOG any time soon if ever.
I'm now about half-way through the main quest (plus various side quests) without issues beyond occasional crashes. I haven't tried going to the Mojave Wasteland yet.
snowkatt: does this work when you have the steam version fo new vegas but the disc version of fallout 3 ? ( goty )
I'm guessing it works since the requirements only says Fallout 3 has to have all the DLC. I used the Steam version of Fallout 3 GOTY (I don't have retail to compare to). You would want to install the v1.7 patch if retail isn't already that version. I'm now about half-way through the main quest (plus various side quests) without issues beyond occasional crashes. I haven't tried going to the Mojave Wasteland yet.

darthspudius: Never mind the invisible walls, game breaking bugs, crashes, stutter and pops? Mechanics are fine, but the game is just bad!
Dzsono: I guess you just overlook another's many faults when you're in love, lol :) AnimalMother117: New Vegas i would definitely want to see on here. 3 looks interesting, but New Vegas, despite some issues, looks really good and more like Fallout 2, for good reasons.
darthspudius: Why does a Fallout game have to look like Fallout 2? Talk about living in the past! Dzsono: I think NV is a better game mechanically and many other ways, but I prefer the bleakness and hopelessness of the wasteland in Fallout 3.

monkeydelarge: No. You can just install the unofficial patch and some mods then enjoy.
But that is still living in the past. We should be looking forward not looking down because something isn't like the previous game. That is just silly.darthspudius: Why does a Fallout game have to look like Fallout 2? Talk about living in the past!
