After 3 in-game years in Fallout 2, I've made it to the endgame. I came what I thought was prepared. Boy oh boy, was I wrong. I thought that a Pulse Rifle and a suit of Advanced Power Armor would get me by, but I was gravely mistaken. Not only did I come unprepared, all my companions were quickly and easily gunned down right in front of me. I lost Marcus, Vic, and the Cybernetic Dog all in one place. In short, I'm fucked. Only good thing I've done here is kill a whole room full of Enclave soldiers, but the room on the right of the rig entrance is still filled to the brim with soldiers. I've only managed to kill one of them, but there's way more to kill. There's an entire room of Enclave soldiers where the entrance is blocked off, but if I attack the guy blocking the entrance, everyone will come after me and I'm screwed. I've tried just about everything I can do, but everything just turns out to be faulty and I just don't know what to do. I've been thinking about reloading to a previous save that I got, but it's from May 31st, 2243, while my current save is from June 16th, 2244. I really don't wanna have to go back that far, but it seems that it's the only thing I can really do at this point.

Can someone suggest something for me? I'm literally stuck at an impasse and I don't wanna lose all this progress. I'll be absolutely PISSED if I gotta abandon all of my current progress.

Leave your companions behind in a safe room. Doing this should allow you to explore the rig and do whatever you have to without being attacked. :-)

I know I'm very late, but thanks for your response. I did eventually get through the oil rig by reloading a previous save and making my companions wait at the entrance.

I doubt they ever expected anyone to balls out fight their way through the whole oil rig. It's been a while though.
